I hope this helps: 1st flying over an airport isn't flying over the runway, it's flying into the airspace, which can be tens of miles. 2nd, i don't know if you have rudder pedals, but using differential breaking will help you make tighter turns. Finally, breath, my brother! You're out there doing the best thing in the world... flying!
@DocTwoEight the communications box at the top will give you more options to speak with the towers. You can announce your position. But it can be hard to tell which airspace you have entered [a-g] if you aren't looking at charts to know. The sim can be harsh in that way. I hope that answers your question.
you have a Garmin G1000, so you have Autopilot: the button is AP on the left most top of the garmin, just under the 2 knobs they easiest thing you can do is to use it in VS (vertical speed) mode with 0 variation, that will automaticaly maintain your altitude. To do so, use the ALT button to select the altitude and VS to select the vertical speed. with some time and appropriate training u'll be able to use the HDG (heading mode) and the NAV mode where you can setup a flight plan and let the AP do everything.
Quick recommendation for final. 10 flaps is 85 knots, 20 flaps is 75 knots, and 30 knots is 65 knots. As a private pilot that’s what I try to do. If you’re doing the traffic pattern I put in my flaps half way parallel to the runway or just past it. I also put 20 degrees in once I hit base and 30 degrees on final. But speed is very important if you want a good landing for sure. Best landing I’ve seen from a UA-camr so far! Keep it up trev!
halfway through the video and I'm not sure if you will read this but I had to point it out that you can use autopilot while cruising. You can set the direction, vertical speed, etc.
@@megadeth5046 best way is to read through a guide or watch a G1000 flight sim tutorial. there are a bunch out there. The aircraft systems in the game are all opened since the start.
You can turn on the second screen on the cockpit to display the nav map by hitting the furthest right button on the bottom of the display. Hope that helps!
My recommendation on landing is to not mess with the flaps when your 300-500 feet above ground to avoid slamming on the runway, and you dont always have to use flaps 30, most pilots only use flaps 30 only in serious windy weather conditions. On top of that, please get your instrument rating so that you can unlock LIVE weather and make your flights a little more challenging. Lastly, during takeoff, don't retract your flaps too early. On retractable landing gear aircrafts, you would raise the gear at 300 feet. Then Raise the flaps a notch at 1000. If you have another notch, the last notch at 1700 feet give or take.
Hey, I fly the C172 in real life and I actually will normally land with flaps 30. However, this simulator makes the flaps 30 setting feel like flaps 40 so flaps 20 in the simulator is probably the best setting.
I did the same thing, following the blue squares will mess you up, just take off set your altitude, hit autopilot then NAV and you will follow the magenta line which is the shortest route. Hope this helps some.. love your videos bro keep em coming!!
@@fztfabs65 Using NAV will make your airplane follow the magenta line. Heading will make your plane follow whatever heading you give your plane. So if your heading bug is on 330, it will head 330. Hope this helps!
The autopilot controls are on the left side of your PFD. Don't stress too much about the buggy taxi speed warning - I got one when my plane wasn't even moving!
Hey trev just to let you know the 2 big rectangles painted on the runway are touch down markers try to land on the touchdown markers what i do is aim for the numbers then i end up landing perfect (Hope this helped if you didnt already know)
You need to set up your differential brakes, that’ll help you turn better! Every airplane has a right in the left break. If you set them up to be separate, you will turn sharper.
When you're grinding in game to get to further content...in settings go to your assists -> search "sim" and set up your "increase simrate" and "decrease simrate". The portions of the flight where you're just at cruise can speed up or slow down at your control. This can make a two hour flight a 20 minute flight. Just be quick to decrease the rate and respond to ATC comms when they contact you.
He actually knows about this, did that in one of the previous videos. Pretty sure stuff like that is done when he's grinding or just gets cut in montage.
Trev I have been sick at home all week just finished that 3rd episode and lo and behold here’s the 4th. Just wanna say I’m loving this series man keep up the grind and great work you do and have done for years!! 👊
In aviation youre required to go to the next possible taxiway when you land, youre obiously not allowed in the grass. Also, the speed limit on taxiways is 20kts, you went 22
This is great in concept, but the taxiways on non-major airports in this game are sketch at best haha. Had so many issues with random plane 'crashes' because it falls in a hole. Rather stick on the runway til they get that figured out 🤣
Try using left brake while you’re turning left in a taxi, should spin you around on a dime, no reason to drive in the grass, love watching this series!
Not sure if you’re aware but on the runways you land on at your final destination where the hold stop is at the beginning where you first land if you just slowly go further down the runway there’s pavement extensions off the sides of the runway to turn around without being dinged for skipping the hold stop.
Easy now Trev! Those dings for wrongful entry of a taxi way etc etc. Clearly a bug that they will fix eventually. Also, you should absolutely ignore the brackets. I've seen them lead the plane right inte terrain..
Trevor for future reference watch the compass in the top left the purple line is your flight path and it will show you when to change directions pls stop confusing yourself with the blue blocks when trying to approach the runway final
I love this series Trevor. And it is fun to see your frustration, and I understand them 100% I hope you will be able to fly over Lofoten in Norway, it is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Especially with northern light in the sky at the same time. MAGICAL.
Hey! I’m a CPL holder but I noticed that when you are approaching you are running the engine at quite a low RPM try a 1500RPM setting and then focus on that flap and holding that nose where it is for the airspeed and everything will come together :))!! Keep it up loving the series!
A good cruising speed for the Skyhawk is 110 kts, set the RPM around 2200, higher if needed to maintain 110, and the plane should settle into a nice cruise
One thing I can advise is to use differential braking when you need to turn around on the runway. If you're turning around to the left, hold the left brake only, this will make your plane turn within the radius of the runway and you won't run off the runway.
They actually have pavement extensions off the sides of the runways further down for turning around when the hold stops are at the beginning of the runways. That way it’s easier to turn around without getting negative marks.
Don't dump flaps 20 feet off the ground, 100 feet minimum. Also, unless you're on a short or soft field and heavy, you don't need flaps for takeoff in a 172.
For flaps, don't engage unless you're under where the white line starts on the speed on the bottom left. If you're above where it starts you'll get penalized for having your flaps out while going to fast. If you follow the pink line it shows you the route that the blue markers are supposed to show you for landing too.. it's all pretty jank at the moment but I'm sure they'll fix it eventually. At least that is what seems to work the best for me

@TmarTn2, on those tight taxiway or Runway turnaround you need to use differential braking. So for the first landing, you made a left turn, you would want to apply the left wheel brake and it will turn the A/C a lot faster and tighter.
In MFS you'll basically use the Autopilot to wither follow NAV heading (the purple line in the GPS), or follow a heading, say 270º. I usually enable the Autopilot NAV button to hold the gps heading. If you're speaking with tower and he says "follow 295º, you usually want to stay on the Heading button, not Nav one.

You can rudder to the left and turn the plane right to slow it down faster. I cant remember what it is called but its a technique used to slow a plane.
Hey TmarTn2, do you have a rudder controller? When back tracking on runway or doing tight turns. Use rudder along with brakes to steep turn in tight spots.
As a pilot whos never been to flight school, know nothing about planes and has had a 1 hour flying lesson as a gift all i can contribute here is that the plane I flew "would be easy to barrel roll but...were not allowed to do it" Sorry cant be of much help, just here for the class 1 content.

Tmartn you flew over a naval submarine base that is restricted airspace, I know because I use to work there lol. NSB Kingsbay GA
At 18:11 i noticed the sim seemed to be on slow rate maybe thats why you got the speeding warning cause it seemed normal
33:48 almost smashed the tail into the runway 😂😂😂
Thank you for the uploads brother this game graphically looks much better than the 2020 version
You can rudder to the left and turn the plane right to slow it down faster. I cant remember what it is called but its a technique used to slow a plane.
10 degrees of flaps can be extended below 110 knots, thats white line is for 20 degrees
Hey TmarTn2, do you have a rudder controller? When back tracking on runway or doing tight turns. Use rudder along with brakes to steep turn in tight spots.
@TmarTm, when you went onto the grass, you could slow right down and then turned on a sixpence.
Keep the grind going my g
As a pilot whos never been to flight school, know nothing about planes and has had a 1 hour flying lesson as a gift all i can contribute here is that the plane I flew "would be easy to barrel roll but...were not allowed to do it"
Sorry cant be of much help, just here for the class 1 content.
Enjoying the series keep up
Bro the videos of farm sim and this game are bangers please keep em coming
Thanks for naming your airline after the quarterback that won the Tennessee Volunteers a national championship!
Bro is paying 13,000 per flight hour for 80% coverage on a $21,000 plane. Only get the premium when you get the expensive plane.
He said it's only $21,000 bc he got a "first plane discount" the real price was like $250,000
Love the videos keep up the great work ❤
Hey man. Use the yoke to turn, plus rudders and you will turn 2x sharper.
at slow speed on the ground, try braking to the inside of the turn in addition to the rudder...
this series is good, but I enjoy Planet Coaster 2 series more
PLEASE MORE VIDEOS ON PLANET COASTER 2!
You don't need to follow the taxi ribbon. You can taxi to the other end of the run way and it will correct the path.
In the next upgrade they need to change the colour of the next waypoint so it's different to the rest (I'm sure it was in older versions...) so you know which one you're meant to be aiming for
Dunno if u'll see this but if u are enjoying the flight sim games i think u should really look into the turtle beach yoke set it looks really neat would love to see u using that instead of heli sticks haha.
keep these vids coming please!
Just subscribed great content on msfs 24
U could try reversing down the runway down to the enterance to the holding then drive to it That way u will stay on the runway
Recommend you use the flight plan line you can turn off those gates in the sky and the game won’t dock you any points
