I just got it too to use as a travel UA-cam key light. been pretty happy with it so far. might get another. packability size is my #1 one purchase reason.
Great overview! Quite tempting to pick up a couple for specials. But the lack of removable battery is a bit of an oversight.
At the same time, PD powerbanks are not that expensive so it would be easy enough to power them that way...
Yes, there are many ways to keep this light running for longer in the field. Make sure you use the proper PD current the M20C asks for. Never under. Thanks for watching!
I hope Zhiyun will start making lights with standard batteries soon. Non removable batteries will anyway be banned in the EU for most gadgets
£170 for a 20W light seems a bit steep. Looks like a good product but can't justify it at that kind of price, will wait for it to come down in price :)
That price surely isn't right. Here in China it's currently about 500rmb, which is around 50 pounds. Can't see the customs coming to 120 quid!!!
Also 20W, not 2W.
I mean, you can definitely get cheaper little panel lights, but the connection to the app and the color accuracy and brightness is part of what you're paying for here.
I have the Molus X100 and love it. The app has a fantastic function whereby you can use it to get a white card measurement and it then matches the color of the ambient light on the Molus. Will probably do the same with these.
one feature i would really love to have is interchangeable 18650 batteries. i am okay with a shorter running time but buying another light as a backup is not as elegant as simply having spare batteries on set :) but otherwise it looks amazing! Are ther plans for a m40 with the same features maybe ?
Yes, interchangeable is good. The m40 has to be built in.
I think you can see the 18650 in the plastic cylinder. Would have been relatively easy to do. It's also more environmentally friendly to have removable batteries
@@xWood4000 The M20c does not have a 18650 battery inside. And the 18650 is a 3.6V battery.
I'd prefer PD powerbank which I use all the time for Fiveray M40.

Can you use to light a reception dance floor.
This is a 20 watt light. For a wedding dance floor, you need at least 60 watts and a COB type for punch. No square panels, even if they are 100 watts. They are designed for proximity due to its flooding characteristics. The Zhiyun X100 will definitely do it.
Great review. How does the app work, though? I just got the light and it won't pair with my iPhone 14 Pro. I've used Zhiyun lights before and I have never had a problem pairing. This one doesn’t work…yet. Again, thank you for taking the time to review this great light!
Triple tap the power button and reset the light’s Bluetooth and it should work. Reboot the App too. Just to make sure it’s not the light, use another IOS device other than your iPhone 14 Pro and see it it connects. Make sure you turn off your iPhone 14 Bluetooth OFF so it logs out before connecting to another device.
Hi . . .Thank you for getting back to me. I've reinstalled the app a couple times,, triple tapped, tried it on my iPhone and my iPad and it doesn't work. I've seen the reviews for the app and it doesn't work for anyone. Oh well . . . I have a few days to try it, but if I can't get it to work then back to Amazon. It's worthless to me without the app.@@ArtVideoProductions
PS . . . I contacted Zhiyun and the haven't gotten back to me. I also called the repair center and they have no idea seeing how it just came out, but the app has been out for a long time

Yes it is. All lights with a built in battery are. The healthiest thing to do is to FIRST charge to 100%, THEN, you can crank it up to 100% brightness all day, without stressing the battery while is is powered ON USBC.

Hi, crazy idea, but could I use this with a sotfbox to replace a sl60w, or is it much weaker compared to the sl60w?
Even If you place a Softbox on an actual 60 watt light, you already lose 40% of the intensity from a bare LED. No it’s not a good idea to use the M20 with a Softbox.
Nah, hell no. There’s a reason this doesn’t use soft boxes. I’ve actually melted gels with the Smallrig lights & Godox Sl60s.
Pavotubes kill this POS, and if I knew this I would have gotten two more apurtures MCs

When you press the button, just observe the commands to follow right on the lcd display. This is a safety for air travel.
