Poles may joke about it, but when the war ended for England in 1945, Poles continued to fight the Russians. The last Polish partisan died with a gun in his hand in 1963. .. And check which pilots in the Battle of Britain were the best... No. 1 squadron of the 303rd Polish..
This is IPN propaganda. Civil war ended in 1947 with totaly pacyfication polish conspirancy armed group. This Partisan stay in forest bunker to 1963 becouse he had crimminal charge.
My dad lost his eye in accident at work. It was rough for all family. But after some time we learned how to live with new normal. And now..when my dad says "I'm keeping eye on you " when I'm "naughty " I want to laugh because I know he says that on purpose funny booger, but I don't laugh, just smile and do what I have been told. ❤
This skit was very controversial in its times, because very few people have satirized Polish WW2 soldiers before. The "old" UK Poles who migrated after the war were shocked when KMN performed this in London for the first time.
I think they performed the first version of the skit with a broken grenade. If I recall correctly it's a very old skit from one of their first programs, remade for the "historical" version.
Don't lie and don't invent a parallel reality. After World War II, many comedies related to World War II (and also Polish soldiers) were filmed in Poland, led by the cult film in Poland "How I Unleashed World War II", which was made in the 60s (e.g. In the first part of this film there is a satire about Polish soldiers from 1939 in a POW camp in Germany, and in the second part there is some satire about the partisans). Or "Giuseppe in Warsaw" - also from the 60s. Not to mention jokes related to war and partisans, many of them were made way back during the war. Jokes, and often satire, helped Poles survive the horrors of that time more easily. I do not believe in this "astonishment" of the Poles in London, and if it actually took place, then this astonishment was indeed astonishing.
KMN in 90 was one of the best , some kind of polish monty python. They were laughing from everything and their scetches had some second bottom. History of Poland, history of world war was actually based on real situatioaons but colored
Tell u what. You understand this skech only if you're polish. It is a very specific irony that only those who are Polish can understand. Don't take this personally pls.
Better watch this episode of cabaret - a classic from the old days when they started, a parody of military conscription, as it was in Poland in the 1990s ua-cam.com/video/9sWcljMdG00/v-deo.html
I'm in awe of your interest in Polish traditional songs. For that reason, I wholeheartedly recommend that you explore the song 'Upływa szybko życie' (Life goes by quickly) ua-cam.com/video/B6MqbxKHWus/v-deo.html. It is a melancholic song signifying how family/close friends farewell one another with sorrow until they reunite the following year. I hope you like it.
People correctly said it's an "Allo Allo"-esque type of humour, and that it was controversial with many Poles. This is for a reason. For the Poles, the German occupation was very brutal, with terror here and there, concentration camps, the Jewish Holocaust etc. The Jews were the main target of the Nazis, but the Polish nation too, in fact many Slavic nations were subject to terror under Nazi German occupation. This was because of the Lebensraum idea. On the other hand, the French (that's where "Allo Allo" takes place) suffered much less during the occupation (only the French Jews who were deported to concentration camps in Germany or Poland). Not to mention you Brits suffering only bombing raids. So it's understandable that Brits and French can revel in war comedy like this, with making fun of German soldiers as well as French resistance and British pilots. In fact, here in Poland we do love "Allo Allo", it's basically a cult classic 😁 But because of our horrible experiences during WW2, this type of comedy is simply not well suited to the Polish setting. Still a funny sketch though 😉
Oh I just recalled one Polish war comedy movie, which is also a cult classic: "How I Unleashed World War II" ("Jak rozpętałem drugą wojnę światową"). Divided into 3 separate feature films. This movie is from the Communist era though. But worth watching.
I'm not sure if I agree with this. We have plenty of war comedies and making fun of tragic times is well known as part of Polish dark humour. Of course, we usually make fun of the others, but the Poles are also shown in a comedic way, like in Jak Rozpętałem IIWŚ. Other war comedies: Gdzie jest Generał, czy Giuseppe w Warszawie.
@@leno_o17 Yes, I mentioned "Jak rozpętałem..." in my additional comment. But this is the only one I know, I didn't know about the others. As I see, these all are Communist-era movies. I don't recall any Polish war comedy after 1989. Do you recall something?
you're a native speaker of English, maybe you could clear something up for me. is 'cabaret' the right word for this type of programme? I mean, I know what the word means in the west, usually. Also, when they say 'woz' it was translated into 'wagon' and later 'cart'. that's not correct. This is how we call cars. I suppose there wasn't full proved way of translating this, cause he did, in fact, say 'wagon', but you need to know what it really means. after all, you could easily spot an actual wagon on the country road in those days
about this 'see you later line' and your response, how YOU feel. you've just been infected by political correctness. when you start to think about those maneuvers in speech, then you're afflicted. it's bad because it's never have a way back. you can only transverse it to logic tactic, which can be joke, which can be insult, but you can't just speak for yourself anymore.

I don't like this group and their sense of humor. In my opinion, the Chrabi cabaret and its predecessor, the Potem cabaret, are much better. They are better than them both in terms of acting skills and content
I am Polish and found Polish comedies, movies unacceptable for me. They really have bad stories and horrible dialogs and they are very very boring and many times they make no sense even to me. Poles should fight and stay away from film industry.
I asked my blind friend if "See you later" is offensive to him. He said he can't see a problem
haha I actually really hope you did and and that was true!
but still, keep an eye on him! 🧐 😀

In 1993 last Soviet solider left Poland. Unfortunately a lot of soviet minds stayed in Poland until today.

This skit is a part of long program KMN named " History of Poland by KMN ". In past you watched skits from " History of world by KMN".
The narrator thing is a leftower of older cabaret times, for example Potem had narrator in many of their skits.

@tomaszzaraza9971 Yes, i was thinking double meaning. But my Polish soul told me - second bottom 🤣 Greetings for you and have nice evening
Blackadder 😁👌 i thought the same 😅😂 love this show actually 😃 best British comedy
You should watch whole "History of Poland by KMN" program, it could be interesting how much you'd learn from that.
