MY DREAM HARDTAIL - First Look at my Signature Ti Hardtail - The Reveal of the Binary Maniak

- Опубліковано 28 чер 2022
- Binary Maniak, my signature hardtail, is here. I'm so excited to reveal this to all of you. Binary has been awesome to work with, and we've put a ton of energy into this. I've been riding the prototype a lot, but Binary rushed me these two pre-production models so you can get your eyeballs on there. There will be one or two VERY minor changes to this frame (like the cable routing on the derailluer that I talk about), but this is what the frame will look like. For all who got in on the first batch, congrats! Binary has a waiting list for those who wish to be in on the second batch. Learn more about this bike here: binarybicycles.com/product/ma...

A few more pieces of info.
- When will YOUR frame ship? Contact Binary on that one.
- Did you miss out on the first batch? Get on the waiting list for batch #2. Contact Binary.
- It's sad that it needs to be said, but please don't rip off my work and have someone else make a clone of this bike's geometry. Support the people who made this bike possible. Support me and support Binary. People who clone others' work aren't innovators, and it punishes the innovators. If we rip off and copy all the innovators, there will be no incentive for people to innovate in the future.
- While this frame can fit 29x3.0s, it can also be run with 27.5+, 29, Mullet, singlespeed, or geared. More info here: binarybicycles.com/product/maniak-titanium-mtb-frame/
Home run !!! That looks perfect
It's finally here! If you missed out on the first batch, reach out to Binary to get on the waiting list for batch #2.
Your bike will be 99% the same as this, but there will be a few improvements on your bike:
1) Your sliding dropouts will be even lighter than mine, bringing frame weight very close to 4lbs. That's insane.
2) Your cable routing will be fixed on the seatstay
3) Your sliding dropouts will have even more range of motion than mine here
4) The Maniak logo will be back by the seat tube.
Also, even thought he head tube is technically a straight tube, it's larger than straight head tubes of years gone by, and it's meant for a tapered fork.
New build so much better. Love the hp on the bike makes it more special :) looks like u thought of everything
@@johnsonjay60 I tried to pack as many features into this as possible. It took some time, but I'm thrilled with the final product.
@@hardtailparty yeah man definitely. Congratulations! This is great!
Batch #2 is getting lighter frame and updates? If you know about the improvements can batch #1 (pre order) get the updates?
@@garyhatton9155 The frame weight will be the same. The difference in weight Steve is referring to is the weight of the dropout inserts. The inserts he received are heavier than those you will receive.
Batch #1 (those that pre-ordered) will absolutely get the same updates that Batch #2 will get.
Don't hesitate to send us an email if you have any additional questions or concerns. We're happy to assist!
You guys cleaned it up nicely. The straight tubes create an interesting contrast to the bends in the stays and down tube. I think that should generate some aesthetics conversation. The drop outs are, to use video game terminology, overpowered. The 3.0 fit in short chainstays is the most niche thing ever. And you're on trend with the BB shell behind the ST. How Knolly and E-MTB of you. You have distinguished yourself with this bike. It's unlike anything else in North America.
I can't wait for your impressions and I really hope you can get a few press frames out. I'd love to see what the critics would say about it. Hoping for a big epic ride review along the lines of a bike packing trip or JKW's remote epics.
It looks sooo good!!! I prefer the word Maniak only. We all know where it came from. If you know you know ;) plus, it still says HP on the head badge, which is so cool!
This turned out so nice. Love the final version, much less “curvy” than the prototype. Beautiful bike and well done
That outro b-roll hub sound combo was sweet 🎊🙏🏻
Congratulations Steve, so excited for you!
Nice job Steve and Binary! It's beautiful!!
@hardtailparty I took delivery of my completed Maniak today! I absolutely blew my "budget"out of the water, but the resulting machine is so amazing, it's almost unsettling. The combo of frame, wheels (Zipp 3zero moto), fork (Pike Ultimate), bars (Oneup carbon) and the Onyx hub result in the smoothest, most damped, muted machine I've ever felt. There are so many sounds and vibrations that I'm NOT experiencing on this bike, it's going to take a little time to get used to it. I'm so glad I found Hardtail Party, got to know you a bit and leaped on this frame when the opportunity presented. Thank you for not pushing me toward it at all. - Those on the fence, "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up".
What a killer setup! Very similar to how I run mine. A quiet bike is such a thing of beauty. I'm so thrilled with how the production Maniak turned out. Enjoy your amazing bike.
Gorgeous frame and final build. Excited to see the test ride vid.
Man, this is so much more bike than I need and in no way could I justify the cost, but the want level is maxed! Such a sweet bike! Love the HP logo on the headtube too!
Yes, and keeping the HP letters (or even the whole logo) on the top tube would be an nice touch.
I wish other manufacturers had your attention to detail . So many of the small things are missed and as consumers we just accept it . Well done .
Thanks, it speaks volumes to Binary for having the same attention to detail. It means a little more time in development, but it'll be worth it. When you're spending for a ti frame, you want it to be dialed.
Congrats!!! Awesome work.
Sick! I too run plus tires on my Ti Salsa Mukluk. 29x3.0" (i40) out front and 27.5x3.8" (i45) rear. I've been very happy with the RockShox Yari, as it's one of the only true 3.0 compatible forks left out there. Upgraded with Charger 2.1 damper and Debonair C1 feels absolutely dreamy and essentially transforms it into a Pike.
Amazing!! Congrats!
This is so awesome! Steve, congrats on seeing your project through to production!
So rad man. This must be a dream. Love your channel.
Dude you should do a virtual of the Ribble HTs.
That's up to Ribble I've reached out to them many times.
So awesome. Looking forward to the ride video!
Soo happy for you, well done on your dream setup! That frame looks fantastic.
What a dream come true! You folks have created the must have hardtail of the millennia! Congratulations 🎉
Beautiful frame, and simply a work of art and a visual masterpiece..... Well done! ✌🏻❤️
that frame looks amazing, so beautiful
Congratulations. Looking forward to the ride
The production version looks WAY better than the prototype. Well done!
Wow. Congrats, that's a beautiful rig. hope it rides as well as it looks!
Absolutely beautiful, congrats HP
So excited for you, what an awesome thing!
Looks so awesome! Great work.!
That is super rad! Looking forward to seeing how it compares to everything else you have ridden!
Fantastic! Well done Steve...exciting for sure. Dream job.
Congratulations Steve! The bike looks phenomenal!
The new bike looks amazing!!!! Can’t wait to see the ride review! Keep the decals simple, “Binary” on the down tube and “HP” on the top tube, back by the seat tube.
Wow, that looks even better than I thought it would! What a monster truck!
Wow, that's a sharp- looking frame!! Congrats to Binary and you for seeing this through. I'm looking forward to your ride review!
Fantastic bike! Function and form!
What a gorgeous bike. Congratulations!
Looks amazing!! I'm pretty sure it looks like my dream bike too, hope some day i get one of those frames, congrats Steve!!
looks awesome!
Love it!! Can’t wait to build it up!! Nice job Steve and Binary.
Binary HP on the top tube!
LOVE the straight top tube, less curvy down tube, lower seat post gusset (uniquely awesome), seat stays attached forward of the seat post, HP logo on the head tube... beautiful piece of bicycle!
Thanks. I'm thrilled with how it turned out.
Beautiful!
wow. that ending, camera work and editing was incredible. the bike is a trophy. congratulations dude. thanks for all the insight and knowledge.
Looks awesome!
Looks great man, congrats!! Love the 29x3 option! I vote just Maniak.
Super dialed! That thing looks awesome!
It really looks good. A nice blend of classic hardtail silhouette with subtle modern touches, like the slightly bend dt and super short seat tube. 👍👍👍
Wow dude that thing is so beautiful!
What a piece of beauty! well done! If I could, I would order one!
Really cool final product. Would love to try it one day!
Stunning
HUGE congrats Steve! Amazing work on what will surely be an amazing frame. Can't wait to hear the ride report! The work put into that rear end is nothing short of stunning, and 29x3 on a 418 chainstay is quite a feat! Build looks super sweet as well. I feel the same about the Hydra, hoping we move away from the childishly loud hubs soon, it's a really unnecessary fad.
That build looks gnarly, so happy that you got your frame! It's been a lot of fun to watch your process, especially the edits to get it all dialed in just right. To me "Maniak" looks and sounds much cleaner, HP added to the end is clunky/unnecessary as the "Maniak" is already your signature model. Really excited to see a potential Maniak XC build!!!
Years of evolution. You just got it done.
Great work, Steve! You have fixed the three things I would change about my beloved Stache (longer reach, higher stack and to). Can’t wait to get one!!
Looks better than expected, can't wait for the ride review. I'm gonna have to get in on the next batch.
Glad to see you got in on the waiting list!
Happy to see the collaboration come to fruition. Looking at it, it's pretty, and easy to see why I should want one. Wishing you nothing but success.
Thanks for the kind words Ian. I'm thrilled with how it turned out.
I want a Maniak!!!!! Can’t wait for the ride review
What a sick bike!
that looks amazing!
Beautiful bike !
Bravo! You are an artist! It should be called Maniak HP. Your design, your name should be on it. That also means the logo should be near the seat tube. Again, your design, your way. Just my $.02 worth.
Hear hear. Acknowledgement to the mind behind the design.
Man !! I feel your passion through your video !! And it's so nice to see (too rare not to be mentioned) !!
It's super nice what you have achieved there with Binary Maniak but not sure I'll be able to afford it one day :-/
Anyway, this message also for thanking you for your video and the always nice way of speaking and showing your bikes, I defo love it !!
And also thank you .... because of you I bought a Ragley Big Al :-D
What a machine! I’m gagging for Ti version of my Sirius, 4lbs is amazing. Time to look at a custom build! Top work Steve, keeping it interesting with the best hardtails in the world. 🤟
Wow, what a beautiful bike - even nicer than the first frame. The gusset on the bottom is not a style breaker, it looks good actually. If HP stays on the headtube logo, i would call it only Maniak.
Wow, that's all In can say! What a bike!
Congrats, awsome bike. I just picked up a Binary Havok frame from Steve last week, basically a drop bar Hardtail with clearance for 29x3.0. Putting together my build list now. Decided on the 5DEV cranks because of your review. I’ll also go with GX Eagle with Gevenalle Shifter/brake leavers. Your channel is super helpful. Thanks
Killer Hardtail , High level Stuff !!!!
A really beautiful frame.
Looks perfect! I like the straight toptube and the seat tube is cool
Same here!
Congratulations, Steve! This is a great bike and an awesome achievement and contribution to the hardtail community. I was thinking about the Stache too with the way it's setup. Looks like it can still party like a Stache, but seems like it will be more composed than one.
100%
HOLY GUACAMOLE!!! 😍😍😍😍😍 I need a winner lotto ticket. 🤟🏻😝
ohhh mamaaaaa 😍I like the straight line of the top tube better, I find it more classy and modern. Ride on !!
Nicely done with the seat tube bottom bracket junction ,that bike is sweet
Thanks, I really dig that part too.
Just Maniak, sweet bike Steve
Amazing ! Turned out way better then the prototype and wish I was getting one and completed the pre order but maybe soon I can try to get an order in bc it looks like it nailed what I was looking for.
Feel free to email us regarding getting on the waiting list.
Looks freakin’ sweet !!!
Could have said more, but I know you’re a family guy Steve.
I hope it’s everything you wished for. I look forward to your ride review. Just don’t loose the footage 😝😝
Thanks for keeping it family friendly. :)
Nailed it!
Holy crap. That bike is the dream.
it's been keeping me up at night for a couple years now. :)
@@hardtailparty Us, too! Hahaha! It's turned into a thing of beauty!
Great looking bike. I hope to see your reviews on its capabilities and comfort on tech rides, long rides, and bike packing.
I prefer the straight lines and although the curved down tube looks nice, It seems less practical.
I do like what you’ve done on the seat tube and bottom bracket area.
All in all, it’s a unique bike.
The final frame looks amazing! I like it better with a straight top tube vs the curved one.
Me too!
Finally! I’ve been dying to see what mine will eventually look like. Started curating parts as soon as I placed the order…. (Hadn’t got to order the BB till after the change from T47 … winning) After weeks of staring at a pile of unopened parts boxes one too many times I ended up snagging a YelliScreamy frame to give me something new to play with while I wait for my Maniak. Thx for the ride review on that BTW, it’s soooooo much more fun than the understated looking frame suggests. It’s a fantastic ‘stand-in’ choice.
You’ve probably already shot the ride revue for these…. But since u got two, I’d love to see you and Tess ride them together and swap back and forth giving both of your impressions on the two configurations. 😁
That's a good idea! One is set up as a lightweight SS and the other is set up like this. Maybe we can do that.
So sweet! Love the straighter tubes over the initial proto types. My vote is to drop the HP after Maniak. Oh, and Love that single pop of color with Paul dropper lever.
While the curvy lines of the prototype were interesting, I much prefer the cleaner look of the production model. If I ever find the funds for a Ti frame, this will be it
Nice Bike! (I caught the subliminal message T-shirt ;-). I'm excited to take delivery of mine and hit the trails with it. I'm gathering mismatched color anodized parts now to bling mine out with a rainbow color gradient. Looking forward to a Maniak group ride next year!
Looks wonderfuuuuul!!! Both aesthetically and functionally. Congrats for pursuing and materializing your dreams. I will pray to the gods for an aluminum version and for distribution in Europe.
These are available worldwide, just not in aluminum.
Steve is correct ~ we are happy to ship a titanium frame to you in Europe!
Lots of great design details there. Adjustable drops, big tire clearance, straight seat tube. FYI Black Spire here in BC make a bb mount bash guard so no adaptor is needed. I have one on my Chameleon.
Awesome, thanks! I've been looking for something like that.
its breathtaking
love to see some pics of the xxl or xl frame fully built up
At the moment these two mediums are the only ones in existence. Binary has the cad images of the different sizes. they should look proportional, as the rear end grows with the reach.
Now that the new Chameleon is less Chameleon-y, this takes the old Chameleon torch: the literal do-everything play bike.
100% agreed.
This thing is going to shred!
Agreed!
I think it should say "Maniac Party"! At the very least, "Maniac HP"
Looks awesome 👏 can’t wait to build mine up. Will be more XC oriented with Roval Control SLs, AXS build, Fox 120 SC fork, and Enve cockpit. Should be fun. Once the frames come in, you should host a ride for Binary Maniac HP owners. By the way, I prefer Maniac HP.
Great idea! That'd be a blast. My second frame will be built up more xc oriented as well. 2.3s, SC120.
I like it 👍
Steve, Awesome job. HP Maniac flows better in my opinion vs Maniac HP, Either way I would not get rid of HP. Binary Bicycles you guys are great.
The final frame build looks amazing. Now I want to hear how it rides in the desert 😀. I'm back to saving up and this might just be my frame to buy next year. Love riding all my local trails in Tuscon but unless I'm going up to Mt Lemmon, I really don't need my 6 inch travel rig.
This bike can handle all the MT Lemmon and 50 year trails, you just have to go a little slower. :)
@@hardtailparty I don't plan on riding it there 😆 I just want to have more fun on the easier trails like lone cactus out in fantasy island, or on the AZ trail and such. You know, hardtails can make easier trails more fun so I'll save the fsp bike for the bigger trails.
@@buckroger6456 This bike is probably a bit more aggressive than the ideal fantasy island bike. This thing likes to live in the blue/black/double black realm. It'll handle green trails fine, but a more XC oriented bike like the binary super b would be my choice for making green trails fun again.
@@hardtailparty I ride a bit of everything but hit fantasy more because it's such a short ride to the trail. I'm a long distance guy and I enjoy a bit of everything as long as I can ride out to it. Also looking to do some bike packing as well, so a do it all bike is what I'm after but one that loves to get crazy 😀. I love my old 6 inches travel 26" bike but it's often way more travel then I need for my all day adventures in the summer. I don't do winter, it's too cold for my lizard blood 🤣
Cant wait to see how you compare it against your favourite RSD middlechild...
What do you think? Should the logo say "Maniak" or "Maniak HP?"
Maniak is fine, there's a HP in the headtube, where it matters.
maniac HP.
Keep the logo at the front, it looks cool 🚴♂️also just call it Maniak
Maniak HP
Maniak HP
Very nice ! (Borat style)
I love the build! So happy for you and binary to roll these out. One question tho, why mechanical disc brakes?
I like good mechanical disc brakes. I have a few videos on the topic.
What brand do you use?
