      Is romain when talks about treasury bill is he referring to saving bond

    • @itsRomainFaure
      @itsRomainFaure  Місяць тому

      @@Lavariega-wg3uo not exactly the same. The key difference between the two is the amount of time it takes for each to mature. While Treasury bonds (what you refer to as savings bonds) are considered long-term debt securities, maturing 30 years after they are sold, Treasury bills are short-term securities that mature within a year and pay less interest than T-bonds.

Watching people that have their finances together brings a lot value to the table, and it gives the average person a roadmap of where to go. Keep up the good content, Romain!

I lost my home (I bought it 4 years before I even met him), everything in my home, my 401k, everything… because he would not get a job the last 3.5 of our marriage. I had to pay him alimony for 4 years. It was awful. I’m still in 33k in card debt and over 100k tax debt. I left him 10 years ago. It has completely changed the course of my life. This is great that you posted audit to give folks something to aim for or strive for. Def mix more of these style audits in. Her high income and maturity at a younger age has put her in a great position.
    The side air bags give added protection in new cars but for me nothing is better than the physical mass of a car. This is an extreme case but in the past my 68 Mercury was rear ended by a 80s midsize car. The 80s car had $6k damage and my car needed a muffler hanger and it had paint marks on the bumper but didn't dent the bumper . I wired up the muffler and drove away. They hit hard enough to spin my car around. Just another thing to consider when you buy a car/truck.
    I guess I am somewhat numb to safety. I ride an Ebike and a friend has raced cars for years. I have a UA-cam go-pro video of him racing his mini van.
    Nice video!

This episode will be inspirational to many who may not be in a dire financial disaster, but may see themselves able to learn how a regular middle-class working person can actually accomplish so much by making good choices in spending and investing decisions. Great episode!!

    Romain, where do you suggest we buy & sell gold & other physical assets?

    • @itsRomainFaure
      @itsRomainFaure  Місяць тому +1

      I currently do not hold any physical assets, but as I continue to grow my wealth, I plan to allocate about 5-7% of it to physical assets, primarily gold. This can provide a hedge against inflation and market volatility without overexposing your portfolio to the risks associated with physical assets. It's difficult to specify a physical location, but my primary sources will be banks and financial institutions that offer bars and coins for sale to customers. You could also potentially use precious metals exchanges; platforms like the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) and the Shanghai Gold Exchange (SGE) facilitate the buying and selling of physical gold. I recommend you follow the price and compare it to the value of physical assets, as there will be a premium on the conversion. --- This is no financial advice.

    SPOT ON about the prenup. If a couple can't have this conversation before they are married, they shouldn't be getting married. Forcing a very open conversation about what happens if things don't work out is essential. There's nothing cynical about it. Rather, it's an indication of maturity and and desire to really understand each others values around assets and your relationship. It's all good.

    $100K is not enough for medical expenses on car insurance. Depending on the state, a 20-minute medical helicopter ride can cost $60k (that was Missouri). I got that ride… and it ended up being a mis-diagnosis (they thought my lung was lacerated but it was histoplasmosis). Then the initial ER visit was 18K, then on to an overnight stay at a university hospital. 💰

Unfortunately, people arent always honest and this poor woman got deceived by someone she thought she could trust. Hey Romain. I think that's dangerous advice about the timeshares for most people, but it seems like Andrea has the willpower. My parents go to timeshare presentations too for the free stuff. You just have to keep on saying “No” because they will lie or mislead you on anything to get you sign. And if they try to resist giving you the free or discounted stuff that they promised, just for coming to the presentation, threaten to expose them to the other people who are about to see the same presentation later. That will typically get them to honor their agreement if you threaten to destroy their opportunity to sell to others.
