@@spider-man500 the MCU is not failing just because you have a few projects that don't make it doesn't mean it's going downhill look at when Thor the dark world came out I thought it was garbage and then we had age of Ultron it was all right movie but I still went to it I still appreciated the artwork and the story I wish they would have went in a different way what it wasn't my favorite but I still enjoyed the story that's why people are given too much hate on the new stuff and not just watching something new and looking at a different point of view I love some of the stuff because I know it's different but I still enjoy the story and I still enjoy the characters

No single movie can and even should be expected to save the MCU. First of all, let's define SAVE. Does it mean restore our faith in Marvel Studios whether they can still make gud stories? Id actually argue that that faith never really got lost among the fans. because we clearly know that their priorities have changed.
The MCU has been largely disconnected and there is no grand narrative which pushes through the stories.
If Deadpool 3 fails it's definitely gonna break the MCU a LOT more. I don't think it will "make" the MCU and fix everything. It will definitely boost it and bring trust to people again if it's done well, but we're gonna need more than just 1 good movie to be won over again. We need consistent quality over multiple projects again

I think less people will be going to the cinema for the films building up to it though. The films go on Disney+ not long after leaving the cinema and they don't tend to be staying in the cinemas as long as they used to

I can say as a 22 year old I did start on the movies. However, the movies got me to read the comics and imagine I’m not the only one in that scenario so we’re a lot more in common with the older generation than you think. I just think we’re harder to please because our voice is so much louder like online. But overall I think we want better stories and better comic transitions

The MCU can't be saved by one film. Deadpool 3 can be the greatest film of all time, it doesn't mean anything if the MCU continues to release lackluster films.

17:43 this is me and I really haven't sat and read a whole comic before but comic book accuracy is still very important to me. I love the history and still recognize how iconic just those images can be, and let alone the stories. Originality can be great, like how early mcu handled it, but sticking to the source as much as you should is what drives these kinds of movies. It's one thing imagining the scenes from a book in your head, it's a whole different thing to see actors and writers almost literally bring it to life.
It’s not just that they didn’t have comic background it’s that they were hiring people who just didn’t know ANY of the source material to begin with. That still to this day makes absolutely no sense.

I don't think it's make or break, it is for me; but even then.. I don't see a "universe" in which this movie flops. This movie holds too much weight for the mcu & Fandom in totatality to fail imo, plus kevin feige said it was good already 👍
I agree I feel like some people are just complaining to complain. Like I understand they’re not the best quality at times but it’s better than not having anything in my opinion. I just appreciate that we live in a time where these stories are so readily available and for me the good still outweighs the bad considerably so not giving up hope anytime soon.

Ironically, I anticipated Xmen Animated to be homework, except that it turned out AMAZING; whilst I was super stoked for What-If (S2), when that actually turned out to be homework..
Issue is even if the movie is great nothing planned in the immediate future looks any good. Who's asking for a Wonder Man project? Who's for a Agatha project? For a Iron Heart show?

One of them is correct partially, the other literally admits to not knowing the comics, and both believe variety articles, which are effectively tabloids, what’s level headed about believing tabloids
a lot of the commentary channels i've come across in this space have been overly angry and just not fun to watch and be around. so it's taken a while to find more chill figures that admit blind spots and try their best and have guesses that seem like they could be right, but aren't mad when they're not right. and just seem chill.

PPL say if was a light hearted comedy. No it was a film which didn't take itself seriously. Even to be an effective comedy u need to respect the script.
It just took nothing seriously. So it became fun because u completely tuned out of it in the initial few minutes and started finding it hilarious. Perhaps that's why PPL say they enjoyed it. Nobody wants goofy superhero films. If such kind of films are fr u, grt. But majority MCU fans have grown up and moved past disneyfied attempts to mature Marvel properties.

My biggest complaint about the MCU at the moment is lack of connectivity. It sort of feels like each project is taking place in its own little world, and nothing that happens in 1 show or movie affects the characters of another show or movie.

The Thing with "Deadpool & Wolverine" is that it has created a lot of hype-being a Deadpool movie-which is exactly how it should be received in theaters. It probably won't be as big as Spider-Man: No Way Home but still, it can deliver the best of Deadpool yet without impacting the MCU that much as a whole, all while strengthening the multiverse concept and leaving the MCU a little bit (if not more)clearer compared to certain other projects that have not exactly succeeded.
I checked out after Multiverse of Madness. I saw GotG3 and loved it and decided to give Marvels a chance and felt betrayed again. As much of a Disney nerd I am, between Marvel and Star Wars, I feel we’ve entered another Disney Dark Age where movie quality will be crap for a long while. I have very very little hope for Deadpool but of course will be going to watch it

It's been great seeing you do some pods with Chris from Cosmic Culture. Hope Chris and Ali are doing well (and the cats). Now, to the point of the pod, I can understand the extreme position, I've basically written off the DC side of things even with James Gunn but I'm open enough to listen on a show by show basis. Financially the big thing is repeat watches. If it's a one and you're done it could 'flop' but it's doubtful. Take care all.

I agree that DP&W is great chance to turn things around if it's a great film. I do worry that they may lean too heavy into all the cameos, breaking the 4th wall and the R rated content to carry the film. It needs a great script also in order to be great! If DP&W sucks, I would definitely be less likely to see the next film(s). I already have less interest for Ironheart, Agatha and Blade than I have for FF4, XMen, Avengers 5, & Secret Wars

I don't think it's make or break, but it could revive it. They have such a loyal fan base that they would have multiple opportunities to come back if DP&W fails. I think if it doesn't work RDJ may be the only way to bring it back, and only if the story is right.
Shout out to Ryan and Hugh for standing up to Disney and protesting by not appearing on any ABC run talk shows to promote the movie!!! Real fans that care for the story and characters more power to them and not fiege and the company.

I don’t think that marvel will die , if Deadpool and Wolverine doesn’t succeed. If they will make good films they will have success again . Most of their films were still profitable even when they were not well received. With the exception of „the marvels“ and sadly also „Antman 3“ ( I loved it) all their films brought profit . And that’s ,in the end , what makes a studio producing films . There are ups and downs in business , but MARVEL will survive at least another 20 years , they’re is enough material for another 100 films
I like watching Spider-Man, I like watching Spider-Man develop relationships and join the Avengers. I'm not very interested in Echo, I probably would have watched it, but it wasn't even her real origin story. Just feels like Marvel making content over quality when there is a lot of material you can just, practically! copy and paste and make a movie/show out of. I think the new Captain America movie sounds amazing before and or after reshoots. Captain America? Fighting Red Hulk. Yes. That is literally what Marvel needs. That sounds so badass how can anyone complain?? It's also a story that's been being built for years. Sam Wilson is a good Captain America, especially not having a super soldier serum, fighting Red Hulk? I doubt bro will beat him in 5 hits w a shield. It'll show how good of a Captain America Sam really is, bro was literally picked by Captain America, after he had years to think about it. I want to see Spider-Man join the new Avengers led by Sam Wilson Captain America. I miss the connections. The relationships. I want to see a team up movie like; The Defenders, where Spider-Man, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, maybe Firestar Iceman or Hulk. There is so much potential. Iron Heart sounds interesting, they do have characters like Henry from Iron Man three that I wish they'd use first but I am intrigued by a character like Iron Heart. Agatha was made bc Wanda vision had an interesting fandom and did good, I'm not interested in it. And I don't mean Spider-Man has to team up w everyone i was just using him as an example! I think marvel might be making bad quality on purpose tho so we all don't get burnt out of superhero movies and the future looks really bright

For me I gave up after Love and Thunder. That to me was the breaking point. My favorite character butchered beyond imagination and I only watched secret invasion because I liked the first look and that was a travesty, She hulk I gave up after 3 episodes I never watched anything after that. Point is, even if the MCU comes back to infinity saga quality, irreparable damage has been done by thor 4, she hulk, secret invasion, ant man 3, doctor strange 2, what if and black panther 2. So this movie people are excited not because its MCU but they are treating it as a solo deadpool and wolverine movie. This one movie is not going to save the MCU, even if its great. And even the excitement for this movie is nothing compared to the infinity saga times. They have broken me so many times that I could not care less if they burned down to the ground tomorrow.
I have a great idea: Stop watching the bad stuff and ONLY watch the good stuff. In the 2000s I watched Tobey's Spider-Man movies but never watched Ben Affleck's Daredevil movie.

It is make or break because it been along time since we had a Great MCU movie. In my opinion Infinity War was the last of the Great! Endgame was just good. Winter Soldier great!
I would say that 70% of the Marvel movies nowadays don't really interest me. Also, resetting anything doesn't necessarily excite most fans because the legacy characters are now being replaced with new actors. If casual moviegoers don't know or like those actors, they simply won't watch those movies. Mainly because they just don't know how it will turn out. We all know that these characters will live on, but Marvel, depending on how well those movies do, is willing to shelve them to allow some time to pass before revving it up again.
I hope it does well too. I mean, there is a video on Variant Comics that tells "The Rise and Fall of the MCU" and yes that is what the title is on that channel there. I mean, there have been ups and downs and I still think the animated adaptation of "Secret Invasion" in "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" was done a whole lot better there than it done in the MCU Disney+ series there and I think this franchise be in swift need of a soft reboot after "Avengers: Secret Wars" if this whole "Multiverse Saga" fails us after what "Infinity Saga" gave us there and all

If they keep doing the M-SHE-U in any way, if they keep bringing in the wrong actors for the roll it won’t work. And Warren sorry but if it’s bad it most definitely can lose money because the money going into this with just the cameo’s has to be insane. When the first wave of people going to the theaters come back with a thumbs down, most people will wait for the dvd or streamers. Just think about it in this economy. It cost a family of 4 a good 70-100 dollars just to go see a bad movie! I think our theater is up to $12 per person. Then you have food and drinks for the kids.

But MCU is to focused on spectacle for EVERY movie and CGI instead being a bit more practical and write their storyboarding around that.
Not every movie has to be that 3 acts of spectacle with a ending that effects the overal MCU. Spider-Man stayed more grounded but they made it too much of a teenage adventure movie.
Deadpool 1 only had the Heli-Carrier and the High Way as significant set pieces.
They need to be creative with financial limitations instead of raising the budgets.
I agree that Marvel is bigger than any 1 time period or medium. It’s a classic pantheon at this point.
Remember, F4 comes out before Blade so I'm sure there will be a great amount of excitement not long after Deadpool & Wolverine also
Its not a make or break. As much as phase 4 and 5 have been criticized, we had no way home, guardians 3 & multiverse of madness that did great numbers. A good mcu movie brings ppl back. What they need are a good string of movies that ppl are interested in seeing. Thats all it takes
I will never be totally 'done' with MCU. We, as hardcore fans, have grew up watching these characters. The nostalgia, the feeling of doing good everytime you watch them on screen, makes them special. Sure, the enjoyment level will not be the same if it fails. I would not be more excited for the upcoming projects and would watch for just the sake of it and in hope that maybe something magical can come out of it. But, I am pretty sure Deadpool 3 is not gonna fail, it's gonna please the fandom and from here on Marvel will be back at it's best !
Im really excited for Deadpool and Wolverine, I think it’s going to be good because Ryan Reynolds knows what he’s doing. Hopefully it’ll start an upward trend

Blade:
I enjoyed the first two movies, but he's not a go to character that I read or anything. But I am excited to see what they come up with. but mind you my mind is very much colored and shaped by what they did with the Wesley Snipes movies. I'm not sure if Marvel Disney will be up for the task of matching the filmmaking and choreogrpahy. But I hope I'm wrong. I think I heard some time earlier this year or last year they fixed a lot of the script. I think in an earlier draft it took away a lot of focus from Blade to this supporting cast team or something. I forget who they brought in, but apparently whatever they did in the next draft Mahersella Ali was happy. So that's a good sign I think and hope.
Agatha:
This one I'm excited for due to Kathryn Hahn being a fun villain in Wandavision. So I like the idea of them bringing her back for a Wandavision Season 2 more or less. I think i kind of like and have affection for this due to Wandavision coming during the Pandemic where I was really feeling super depressed. And this kind of gave me something to look forward to each week and get in the whole online buzz and speculation and thinking when I really needed something to lift my spirits.
Captain America: Brave New World:
This one I'm excited and curious about due to the Hulk tie in with The Leader and Red Hulk. Also the Captain America movies have been pretty consistent as far as action thriller espionage type movies in the MCU. I'm hoping it has that quality I'm looking for. Also I think i had some fan speculation and guessing that maybe Jen Walters could show up briefly somehow. Not sure about her doing She-Hulk stuff, but I think and assume that The Leader got his hands on her blood to and maybe mixed that with the Cathesix Ray (not sure how you spell it) and uses that to make Red Hulk. I know they won't do her 4th wall thing, and i wouldn't expect them to. She doesn't do that all the time. That's something for her own book and depends on whatever the tone is for the series she's in at the time. (sorry for the side tangent there)

I know they're not going to be like Marvel Suicide Squad.
it's just that...I don't know...from who they lined up as far as the team, I don't see all of them exactly being full on bad guys. I think some of them are a little more sympathetic and can have some heroic qualities to them. I think i heard a guess from either your channel or a channel adjacent to you that maybe the cast we got at the last comic con or something is a smokescreen. Where this isn't the final Thunderbolts team, but maybe who they start with and the ones that actually work with Val and do bad guy stuff will be a little bit different and will be trying to take out the first team we saw. I can see US Agent being on that latter squad that is loyal to Val.
this is just repeating interesting speculation i heard like a year ago that sounded exciting to me that I think i could get behind as far as an interesting movie
but i don't really know what to expect as of now.
i'll have to keep tuning in for verifiable news pieces as they come in to get an idea of what's in store before they drop a trailer to give me an idea of whether this is for me
Way to fix the MCU...flat out make these movies faster and stop these big gaps in between
Kevin Fiege being against bringing Hugh Jackman back is a good sign - any money-grubbing CEO would care less about continuity and integrity and just grab that fan service if they could. Kevin knows what makes for a good story and what sounds good to less critical people but which will hurt the MCU in the long run.

I think it will be near impossible for me to not have fun at DP v W. That being said, idk the financial turnout of the film. But. If it was considered a “bad” financial output… I would still continue going to the theaters for mcu films. Some will be greater than others. But for me, it would certainly Not be over.
