Really love the content, it's very informative and I'm learning a lot for my future rebuild
Cool, thanks for the comment and watching,

Thanks for the detailed video, is there is a process to get the air out from the system once you fill the coolant
Since this was a front damaged car the system drained from the bottle the highest point. I'm pretty sure the pumps stopped working and the rest of the system is still full of coolant. I'm getting a new super-bottle and it comes with new pumps on it. I will defiantly go over flushing of coolant when I get everything filled back up and running.
Thanks for the comment and Watching!
Casey
There’s an air burping process that will remove the air from the system
Nice to have another 3 to use as a reference. Great progress. Does the ac system have a dryer that needs to be replaced when the system is open?
They say it does but there is no location of it that I can see. I'll have to ask Tesla about that, but I'm sure they will follow the guidelines on recharge.
Thanks for the comment and watching!
Casey
Could you please share info how have you solved the problem with the key?
Tesla service can make a key if yours is missing or not working. If you don't have a service near you then I don't suggest getting a car without a key if you intend to repair and use the car.
How to replace front top glass
Do you have videos on how to remove and replace broken top glass
Yes but I don't have it edited or published. You need glass removal tools to do it without damaging the car or breaking glass more.
Did I miss how u straightened the right frame rail?
Umm actually the rail was not bent at all at the time I thought it was. After taking measurements I found that it was fine and it was only a dent in the crash can socket that needed tweaking.
Everything went together pretty good after that and was within or better than factory gaps.
Thanks for watching,
Casey
Did you ever find a part number on the rubber bushings that mount the radiator shroud?
My question too!
I was wondering how much in total did you spend on parts? I am sure you bought more parts?
I spent about 7k with Tesla parts and service with 3k on Ebay parts.
Would love to rebuild that Tesla! One thing that warry me is to find the parts. How hard is it to get parts?
Yea I did it almost 3 years ago, Tesla parts are easier to get than any make of vehicle.
Can we get the same link for the tesla parts and can they ship the parts to Australia?
You may want to try JB weld or melting the plastic with a soldering iron before buying a new coolant tank.
I did stop the leak that way but the problem is the pumps were damaged due to running dry until battery died. Better off buying one its additional cost but considering what I have in so far its not that much.
Thanks
Who did all the actual Bodywork in between this and your 1st video? I see the frame horn has been fully repaired
The Aprons were not damaged, the crash cans and bumper took the damage. These are all bolt on parts no bodywork was done on the car at all. I only needed the windshield replaced by Tesla and someone to paint it, the rest I did and have never done before.
Is it ok to charge it when there’s no coolant and radiator ? Battery’s at 0. Is it ok to drive it around yard ?
Car will charge at a very low rate and may fault out as the charger gets hot without coolant flow. Driving is totally fine as it doesn't really get that hot just moving the car.
@@TeslaRebuilders for safety purposes I fixed coolant system and then began charging as the coolant motors are on and asking for fluid to pump otherwise they’re making very loud noises
Man I'm looking for the same smashed bracket as yours do you know the part number ?on the bracket there is no part number
The fender brackets they are easy to find on ebay and are cheap now, well they were here is a link to get you started.

Omg you are the man thank you so much
I’d like to be able to do something like this one day we have a model 3 at the local copart I don’t think I have the skills to fix it so probably not
It's actually not as hard as you think especially front end repairs with no frame damage. Everything can be just a bolt on repair which is impossible with any other vehicle.
I'm trying to figure out if something has moved on a model 3 that was in a front end accident. You wouldn't happen to know what the measurement is between where the two crash cans slide in.
Btw, your videos are awesome, keep up the good work!
Humm yea there are measurements for the front end available. Have you gotten the Tesla Resources subscription it was free for a year just recently.

Hello, in your previous video say you need to replace the pyrofuse, I saw the display send a message 12v system problem, I have a Tesla model 3 with the same problems, it is salvage too, all battery was discharged very fast and it don't work, does replacing the pyrofuse will solve the function of the 12v system? Also the rear motor is broken in the accident is a big project, thanks for your video
Sorry I missed your comment, hope you got it figured out. No you have to replace the 12v if dead then Pyro will restore power from pack.
Do you have video of changing the fuse in the penthouse? Or how you got the car driving, once the airbag goes aren't there a lot of steps to get the car driving?
No I didn't video the changing of the fuse I kind of just did it. Changing the fuse if the car for me was all I needed to do to get it to move. Everything will be disabled and none functional like safety features. You shouldn't leave the car powered up for more than 15 mins if the cooling system is not functional. I found out the hard way the MCU gets very hot and could damage it. This is the video I followed to change the fuse as they show very well how to change it safely. ua-cam.com/video/MuFxg75UYbE/v-deo.html
TeslaCharged Thanks for the info! Congratulations on having two 3's. You could say I have a Models 6 😊
hello, I have a tesla with the same accident, where can I buy the parts, thanks
Go to a local Tesla service with a list of everything needed use a spreadsheet and print it out. Have a email ready to send with list if they want it that way. You want to purchase parts over the counter to repair your personal car your not a shop and cannot create a account to purchase from. They will sell all parts that are not restricted on the list. Login with a Tesla account and look over the Tesla EPC site. Any others you should be able to get from eBay or elsewhere just search by name and part numbers.
Great content.
Thanks for the comment and watching, David!
More videos!!!! Great job sir
Working on part 3, coming soon! Thanks for watching!
amazing video!!! what did you do with the support bracket, did you find it used?
No I bought them directly from Tesla, anything bolt on is not considered structural anymore.
Welded and rivet panels are restricted and not sold.
@@TeslaRebuilders are welded and rivet pasts sold to licensed shops? or even they dont have it?
I have front end damage like this is there any way you can tell me the full price you paid for parts and parts number Please?
2 years ago it was way cheaper to get parts as they have gone up 20-30% since not much compared to other makes.
All the parts are listed on the Tesla EPC catalog and can be easily searched.
Enh I have a Discord group if you would like to join and we can help you out.

So you drained all the oil from the compressor on removal. Then it is added during the re charge of the AC system? or added separately?
Yes I removed the AC compressor myself and prepared it by draining the oil. You have to use a special A/C recharge machine that Tesla has to add the oil and refrigerant back. They could then refill with the correct amount during the recharge of the refrigerant. It was the only way to be sure there was not too much oil when the amount has to be just right. They were very fair on cost also was only 200$ to service the A/C and recharge. I have also had no issues and works like new!
@@TeslaRebuilders It was enough to add 30-40 grams of compressor oil before refueling the air conditioner, without removing the compressor, and then fill the freon to normal, but you still need to do this with a specialist
@@igorkorzun Yea sure if you just drain the system and are just replacing a leaking condenser or line. Being this was in a accident there was no way to know the existing amount of oil in the system. I just didn't want any problems and drained it all to start over with the correct amount. It was not that much more involved when the car is already apart like mine was to remove compressor.
@@TeslaRebuilders If after an accident, then it is correct, especially if the car has been standing for a long time with an open system, the oil is hygroscopic, it collects moisture from the air
Can anyone order those parts or do you have to be certified
Anyone can yes at a Tesla service center.
Order parts over the counter with a Vin as not a shop.
Hey question how much roughly you spend on all the parts ? Just a random number please
In total all parts bought from Tesla and Ebay cost me 10k
Hey! Awesome work! After you reset the crash data what OBD tool or other tool do you use to reset the (SRS) for the airbags once they have all be replaced? I have tried the adapter and two tools but they another have issues reading data on the 3! Thanks for any help or suggestions!!!
OBD* tools
You have to send the RCM off to safety restore or other airbag reset services.
@@TeslaRebuilders I found a website that gives details on every error code! I was able to find the errant part and solve each mystery!
@@winstonallthingselectrical837 oh ok cool deal yea most error codes or notifications are generic and not specific. If you enter service mode you can select each notification and get the definition also.
@@TeslaRebuilders my software version is stuck on 2020 so I unfortunately can’t get into service mode 😞 that’s awesome to know though!!!
Do you have the list as a pdf ?
Enh so much has changed its been 3 years. You can look on the EPC.Tesla site to lookup parts and then submit to your local service center for quotes and availability.

WOW... Tax in Canada would have been $241.64. We are totally getting robbed up here!
Amazing...I wish I was mechanically inclined as you...would love to learn how, if possible. I suppose this skill comes from years of experience. In any case, Bravo for a job well done!
Well I have never rebuilt any car before, it was a leep of faith! I have mechanical and electrical skills so helps understanding how things work and go together.

Hello what's the year model?
It's a 2018 Model 3
Did Tesla help you with the new key card ?
I don't have a card yet, but yes they will program a new one. Right now I'm in control with the Tesla App.
Thanks,
Casey
What challenges do you face daily by having a salvage rebuilt Tesla
None!
@@TeslaRebuilders but you can't supercharge it at a Tesla station
@@Eben18 For daily driving and charging at home, even short trips that is irrelevant.
Yes my car does supercharge, it was disabled for about a year. That doesn't stop me from changing at any other DCFC stations like Electrify America with an adapter.
Will loose super charging abilities...?
It's salvaged being rebuilt, according to Tesla yes it will eventually be disabled. I don't really care as I already have a new model 3 for traveling. I'm only using this car local for daily driving, Supercharging is not everything. We have had our car for 8 months now and have only super charged for 800 miles out of 35,000! Due to long distance travel, charging at home to 90% gives you 280 miles of range.
Thanks,
Casey
@@TeslaRebuilders Is there any other fast chargers around in your area? In Norway I see many chargers of 100kw outside tesla's charging network that tesla owners use.. Perhaps not so common in the US yet?
@@R.E.HILL_ Yes there are a few of them building up that offer DC fast charging. Electrify America, Ionity, Nissan, and a few more, but they will require an adapter.
Once disabled I won't be able to use any DC fast charge, only AC chargers.
Thanks

Hi sar I am atuo body dent repair working from Pakistan in currently working Dubai Tesla model 3 i working back fender flares changed I am interested in Tesla working
Wanted to ask, I saw your vacuum pump in shot, could you have pulled a slight vacuum on your super bottle, and ran a bead of CA or flexible epoxy over the leak, drawing it into the separated seam to salvage your existing tank?
It could have been repaired probably yes, I even thought of plastic welding it. But when they said the whole unit was 300$ including new pumps and valve I felt better about it.
Hey! Thanks for this awesome video. Could you please describe how you've ordered parts from the dealership so they released them to you, without using them for repair in a dealer's body shop?
Hey, I emailed a local Tesla Service Center and requested to order parts. I got contact information so I could call someone there and not 1800tesla. I decided to get my first list together and visit in person to meet the staff. I ordered the parts and in a week and a half I received a message that they were ready for pickup. You don't pay for them until you pick them up. My local service staff was awesome they helped me out with everything. Now I'm setting up the final quote on the last parts and Tesla service to finish the car. I'm going to have them replace the glass and some airbags, sensors and seat belts I could not get. Should be this week I will know more about it.
Thanks for the comment and watching!
Casey
@@TeslaRebuilders Thanks for your reply! Good luck! You're doing a great job.
@@TeslaRebuilders By the way, how are the seat belts doing: are they locked after the accident?
@@eugene5636 yes if airbags go off, then each occupied seat will blow the belts and front seat pretenioners . I'm having to replace both front belts, pretenioners and one rear seat belt.
