    I used a red,white, and blue stripe to make a flange for a patriotic quilt, it looked great.

      What a great idea! I think I'll try that on my next Quilts of Valor quilt.

    I really like the look you have created here. I'd call it a pinstripe. It's a great finished binding look. Thanks!

    I love your technique for binding! From now on that is the way I will bind, with or without the flange!!!! Although, flange adds so much class to a quilt. Thank you!

    I always press the binding after I attach to the back also. I want to try this flange binding. Thank you

    Looks nice. I like it when I see that how I do it is similar to how others do it. The end product is the primary idea to be done nice. How it gets there is how we are taught. Ha Thank you for sharing.

    Haven’t seen this way before I thought you joined same colour strips first then attach the two long strips together

      That sounds interesting. I've never seen it done like that before.

    Just confirming that when you piece the two pieces of binding together it is a 1/4 seam allowance?

    • @revelationquilts
      @revelationquilts  16 днів тому

      Yes, I used a 1/4" seam allowance. That way, the binding will still add up to 2.5".

    Thank you. Very clear. If my calculations are right you end up w a 2.5" binding strip bf folding it in half. I prefer mine to be 2.25. What size would i then make my 2 pieces? TIA

      @revelationquilts  Рік тому +1

      Oh my gosh - you're gonna make me do math. You would have to reduce both by 0.125", which is 1/8". I would do a practice strip just to be sure.

      If my math degree is still active... flange 1.5 with binding cut at 1.25. Allowing for a quarter inch seam it should come out at 2.25. Fingers crossed.
