The sharks are so popular now being winless. I hope for a winless season also because last season the sharks won 2 meaningless games and went from having the worst record to having the 29th worst record. Forget what people are saying about San Jose Sharks being the worst team of the season so far. To me, that dishonorary title goes to the overhyped Edmonton Oilers because they are way, way, way below the expectations and the predictions. They came in as one of the heavy Cup favourites, and came in as Canada's flagship team, and after 1/8 of the season, they're 3rd from bottom in both the Pacific and the League standings. All the expectations that came after their runs the last 2 seasons justified their status, but boy, have they fallen flat on their faces. Even McDavid is badly misfiring, and their goalie woes deepen even further.

It's beyond a blip or temporary thing anymore. This team is cooked and they can't keep going on like this. Something needs to change and just firing the coach won't cut it anymore.

This isn't hindsight talking (no, I didn't expect this poor of a start by Edmonton), but why did so many fans and "experts" pick the Oilers to represent the West in the SCF? Why was Vegas dismissed as not being a repeat contender? VGK, DAL, and COL all seemed better on paper (and by the eye test) going into the season. It feels like fans just want to will the Oilers to be a contender because they want to see McDavid in a Final. The Oil have never felt like a complete team since McDavid arrived and I think expectations were way too high this offseason and fans are getting let down.
I don't get where the hype for this year came from either, man. Yamo may be small but he was a hype man and you kind of need that. Kostin was that big guy we finally needed, aaaand they let him walk in favour of McLeod, Ryan and Brown who have amounted to nothing thus far. Bouchard is a PP unit only type of guy, definitely should've been made to walk - anyone can launch a one timer from his spot and probably do a better job at D.

Great bounce back game by the Preds. Did not let their foot off the gas. O'Reilly is so good in the trenches. Amazing how he outfought Nurse for the lead goal.
O'Reilly is a monster in front of the net. It was annoying to see him score goals on the Preds all those years when he played for the Blues. It's refreshing to have a true net-front presence in Smashville for a change. There's to hope he'll age well.

He's literally a liability in 75% of the games he plays. Trade him for a 2.5 mil D and pay the remaining 6.5. The Oilers pay the same in salaries, but they have a better D than Nurse.
Since mcdavid came (too fast) from his injury , he's 0G 2A in 3 games.
Safe to say he's still injured.

So many pieces have been swapped out in Edmonton, one piece has remained constant over the years, the goaltending coach. Yes the defense has major problems, but whatever the goaltending coach is teaching the goaltenders in Edmonton, it is pure garbage.
The Oilers perpetual loyalty to their goaltending coach is one of the world's great mysteries.

Even then, the goaltending is hardly the problem. The Oilers aren't scoring, and their defensive system is abysmal. When is Woody going to tell Nurse that screening your goalie isn't a way to play defense? If Nurse would just pressure the puck carrier, he'd finally be a solid defenseman.
