Andy Summers is so underrated what an incredible band The Police were only 5 albums in their discography but man oh man my favorite 80's band I think I cried when I heard they had broken up.
He’s not underrated . He’s known to be one of the best and most respected one . The critics at that time didn’t like his sologuitar. But Otherwise he is a truely respected guitarplayer. And who cares about the critics?
Thanks Jon probably my favorite Police song ever hard to pick one they had so many great songs. Loved the video for this song as well kinda Mad Max-ish very futuristic. Used to love to watch it on MTV I know I'm old.
One of THE great, underrated songs - great music supporting Sting's very biting commentary on the insanity of suburbia... ~40 yrs later I still think of "...only the rush hour hell to face...packed like lemmings into shiny metal boxes...contestants in a suicidal race..." whenever I see some lunatic maneuver on the road...
Imagine having a guitar lesson from Sting ...oh ..hang a minute we used to hear him play most mornings before he took the register. arr when ya 9 yrs old and naive to how things would all pan out for us in that class..miss ya Kev(Rigsby) rip
Sounds spot on to me though I do believe the opening double stops aren’t supposed to ring out as much. It could be why you think it sounds a bit wrong. Also, without the accompanying bass/drums and Andy’s studio rig it’s not going to sound exact.

wicked lyrics!
Great lesson! I really like the way you play this. I'm curious what effect you've got on there. Just chorus, or is that a bit of flanger?
