I believe that unfortunatly it's a lot about the money. In Israel for instance we felt for years that we are not good in sports and so why invest in it. But in the last decade state money went into the sports we are good at like : gymnastics, water sport, fighting sports and all of the sudden we have olimpic medals, World champions etc. (not football there is a lot of private money in football and we still suck) Starting in 2015 the artist for eurovuision is selected in the t.v program the next ( rising) star, in a commercial broadcaster. The show is succesful, a lot of advetisment etc. and it prooved pretty succesful most years.(8 out 9 finals) And again if Czecia wins eurovision or even gets top 3 there will be a rise in interest and flow of money.
Every success can help, the issue is more systematic. Talents will not suddenly appear, regular ones, it needs time, systematic work, vision. Without a proper conceptual work, instead "now" results based system, we cannot move on. But as you saw in the video, its very complicated as it starts also with education
also with culture and naturel (and edutaction), you cannot compare it to Israelis. You are learned to be confident, to become something and not be afraid of it. This is completely missing in here.
Pam Rabbit is unfortunately a weak singer, her voice is not strong live. In video clips she sounds good but live she is weak, out of breath. The same is with Lenny, Vesna etc. We don’t have great singers with strong voices. There was one Gabriela Gunčíková, and she is luckily working in abroad. Here in Czechia she didn’t have any support. From males we have maybe Vojta Dyk but even he realized during his album recording in the US that there are plenty of people like him and even better on every corner or in every church. We don’t have much talents here unfortunatelly. Our most streamed artists in abroad are Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, Leoš Janáček. And our most successful originally Czech song and melody that broke through to the world is "Škoda lásky" from the period of WW II. So this says it all. Otherwise I agree with you.
Yes, Ewa Farna, she was very popular during the 2010-2015 period. Now.. I would say she is almost forgotten, at least in Poland. I think she even said it herself in our media a few days ago that she is definitely not longer on top😕
