One of the best colours for these IMO. I'm sure that these will be seen as a design icon when most have been scrapped. Such a shame so many people treat/treated these as ephemeral white goods.
I couldn’t agree more. It was the same with Fords of yesteryear - taken for granted and scrapped all too readily and subsequently they have become valuable beyond sensible reason! The Mk1 Focus is in my opinion a modern triumph of design so let’s see if it goes the same way!

@@christopherriley1187 Thanks for watching! Chop To The Top is still ongoing but once I get to the supercar and wrap this first series I will do an overview video where I detail time spent etc as well as re-capping all the fine vehicles that have made up the process 👍
@@JohnnyGetsCash awesome 👏 if I had the skills I’d do it myself. I have a pair of e46’s that I’d like to be absolutely pristine but idk what I’m doing. Eg I bought a napa leather interior but the seat gubbins needs taking off my one & swapping onto the napa ones & I’ve no idea
Thanks for your videos man! It gave me the motivation I needed to do the rust repairs on my car, I've finished one front wheel arch on my w210 E300td and now I'm going to start the other. It has been a nice experience. If you don't mind me asking what rust converter do you recommend? Keep up the good work! Cheers👌🏼
You’re welcome, thanks for watching!
In terms of rust converter, I use ‘Hydrate 80’ from Bilt Hamber.
Best of luck with your Mercedes!
@@JohnnyGetsCash Thanks for your help! I appreciate it! Keep 'em coming!🤜🏼🤛🏼
Recently, I’ve started to realise that all potentially roadworthy ICE cars are going to stop being “scrapped” and will be mothballed until they can be fully returned to 100% roadworthy condition - as second hand values start to go stratospheric towards 2030.
Here's hoping!
Amazing video, didn't you face any problems while using the water pressure on the coil pack and coil plugs?
West country plate would suggest its spent time in area with less salt on the roads.

I've got an '87 Granada Scorpio on my driveway awaiting for new sill and rear arches !
The Mk5 Escorts and later were nothing spectacular.
I'm hoping to get a Mk1 Focus and/or a Mk3 Mondeo sometime but I've already got E39 & E60 BMs as well as a Stag & Mk6 Fiesta.
I need to buy a warehouse.
@@lewis72 that’s awesome! My mum had a Scorpio back in the day and it was amazing! I’ve also got a particularly rare MK1 Mondeo RSI Hendy awaiting a light freshen up (I’ve owned that for over 12 years now!)
@@JohnnyGetsCash
Like most Fords of the '80s (well, of nearly all decades) they do rust.
I swear I can hear it rusting on a quiet evening.
I had to look up what a RSI Hendy Mk1 Mondeo was ! Good luck with that.
@@JohnnyGetsCashis it bright citrus yellow😁
Nothing more satisfying than tickling dirty old bits with a brush. 😁
Man thats amazing and inspiring. But now you have to clean your garage. 😂
I like watching detailing videos, but it constantly irritates me that they literally polish rust. Lovely to see one being done properly.
Thanks for watching
Glad I watched Johnny, told you I would. Wish I had a guy like you as my mechanic M8
Where are you based?
💯💥👍🙏
I am located in the South West of the UK 👍

Thank you Johnny
I was hoping you were closer to me in London
StaySafe Bro
offside brake light bulb out bud. noticed when you put it on the ramp.
Funnily enough the first I knew about that was when I was editing this video! I will be going through all the small bits prior to the MOT so will pick that one up then!
@@JohnnyGetsCash awesome
Awesome video as always, just wondering where you advertise your cars for sale so I can keep an eye! Thanks Johnny
Thanks! I generally use a combination of FB marketplace, eBay and sometime auto trader. With this focus I will be doing an update video once it’s ready for sale so everyone will aware when it hits the market!
I purchased a shell to swap everything over but now both getting restored lol
A classic situation for most car guys!
Great video, loving this series. What's in the spray bottle you used to clean the engine please?
Thanks for watching, I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying it!
I was using a general purpose (dilutable) de-greaser for the engine bay 👍
take rear sponge like archout and rust proof the area..do rot there also..this one has had welding and miles incorrect..it obviously had new speedo around 2009 so lost 35k miles approx common fault.
Good morning can you tell me what wheel cleaner you are using please chap 👍
Great content! Thanks! Would you list which products you use as you use them?? Was that G101 in the fuel cap?
Cheers😊
That’s probably a good idea moving forward. Often times I use concoctions of my own making* depending on the task in hand. I believe in this video for the fuel filler I was using a mixture of G101 / de-greaser (*always mix products with caution & according to manufacturer data sheets!)
Just a £200? This is crazy. 15.000$ in Turkey.
Well saved. not a FindOnRubbishDump car yet.
Not yet!!
Подкрылки нужно снимать когда арки моешь, дитейлер. И если делаешь антикор так делай по всем аркам полностью а не локально только на точки.
So you prefer the las iphone, or but a for focus for 200£ and save more than 800£?
Excellent video any tips on where to buy bargains please?
Check out some of my older videos 👍
Have you only treated the outer part of the welded area or behind it too?
No, all patches are treated to a coat of zinc primer on the back side 👍
I had one of these it was good until the rust set in most of them will have rotted away by now
I had one like this with the black trim inside and this is the only other one i have seen like it is it like a limited edition one or something?
I’m not sure actually. The black wood effect trim pieces are, in my opinion, a really nice part of the interior!
@@JohnnyGetsCash yeah definitely I always liked that to. It's a shame more of them didn't have this trim.
What do you use for rust treatment? Any rust converter by any chance? Thanks
I use ‘Hydrate 80’ from Bilt Hamber. It’s great stuff (not the cheapest of course, but worth it)!
@@JohnnyGetsCash got it.thanks.
Metropolis blue if i remember correctly
Bang on!
