I love Robben Ford, but miss this side of his playing in the late-80s thru about, mid-90s. His playing then had so much fire and melodic/harmonic twists and turns, it was always exciting and invigorating. For quite some time now, his playing style has become very mellow and laid back, and doesn't engage your ear like it used to.
He's not working on his chops the way he used to. He's now more focused on composing. At least that's what he said recently. I miss this era of his, too.
Saw Robben and his band on the UK leg of this tour, he'd added a keyboard player. The venue was the Irish club in Leeds. His fender guitars through 2 twin reverbs was spine chilling. I'll never forget that gig.
The Blue Line really has been my gateway to a bright musical milky way ... Robben Ford is such guide to the universe .. taking you by the hand in ole Indianola . help you feel all that sweet dimensions of notes, chords, strings, things, Yeah 🌷:)
I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THE NAME OF THIS SONG FOR EXACTLY 31 YEARS BECAUSE IT WAS EXACTLY IN SEPTEMBER 1992 AT THE FREE JAZZ FESTIVAL IN BRAZIL THAT ROBBEN FORD PLAYED THE SONG "BAD TRICK BLUES" AND ONLY THROUGH THIS VIDEO WAS I ABLE TO KNOW THE NAME AND LISTEN TO THIS SONG AGAIN....

All these years later....THAT SOUND! I love this band!
Right? Nobody doing it like that yet but Robben.
A truly gifted trio. Robben is such a gifted singer and soloist, but his rhythm playing is what I enjoy the most.

this was blues fusion rock first of all good but CHOPS CHOPS CHOPS
What a dive of a club. I always felt RF was not truly embraced by the industry as the complete master he is. Thanks for the upload.
Indeed.
this guitar tone is LIFE
Thanks for the upload. Best Robben Ford period = The Blue Line Team imho . So much memories of theirs gigs.
This is Gold!

THE BLUE LINE is the best
Grazie per aver pubblicato questo splendido concerto che quell'anno mi sono perso.......Grazie Mille!!!!!!
Robben -- brilliant as always...
This was RIGHT about the time I was really starting to pay attention to Robben.
Amazing band.! IMHO Robben found his voice and tone with the ultra esprit guitars. Fat tone with clarity.
Yes! His tone was so juicy then, but I do love his Tele's tone too.
Thank you so much for posting this amazing concert.
Thanks for sharing
Excellent. I didn't realize at the time how much he sounded like Eric Johnson back then.
They also shared the same bass player
@@francosantini9939 Also the same drummer, Tom Brechtlein
Amazing playing by Robben!
Thanks for uploading this. Absolute beast.
Great stuff! Thanks for uploading!
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
I'd love to have an MP3 of that show. I'd listen to it constantly. The whole band was just on fire.
I ❤️ Robben Ford
As I feel now, I was able to reconfirm that I really liked the sound of Robben at this time!
I enjoyed it very much, thank you !
The best one guitar !
grande gruppo!
"The Brother!" That's the way you grab the audience's attention!
Fantastic playing, Robben! He's is the true Guitar God, sorry Clapton...hahaha Look at the drummer, perfect!!!
Clapton comes nowhere near!
Love the fender esquire
Ford's best band is The Blue Line. No question. He has never surpassed this lineup.
Yellowjackets is mine. But so was The Ford Brothers blues band. It's all exceptional music.
Such tone.
I love the sound of that fender so much more than the Tele he's been playing. Does Roscoe have enough amps on his cabinets? LOL
Dumble ..
Bad Trick Blues around 00:54 oh my god
c'ero!
Setlist please!
37:53 what song is that wow
"Tell me i'm your man" you can find it on robben ford and the blue line album. This song is a masterpiece.

Rough crowd...
Robben plays absolutely fantastic...
then he's nearly getting heckled....
???
Сумасшедший демон!)
His best formation! unfortunately very poor recording, almost no bass.
Guys were on fire but that guitar tech sucked. Guitar was constantly out of tune.
probably out having a Roman holiday! Robben got too much going on this night to make it perfect ....
