Thank you the time to make these videos, this channel is underrated. Would you recommend this over certate for winding/retrieving power? Its my understanding that MQ provide larger gear thus more power but am not sure in real life if its true. I do plugs, lures and jigging from shore with light dialuna rod. Let me know what u suggest
Thank you very much for the kind comment! :) While it hasn't been released yet, I compared the reeling power of the Vanquish and Airity as a 'metal body + light rotor' pair. I felt that the Vanquish was slightly stronger than the Airity, although the difference wasn't particularly noticeable. This could be the comparison result of TP XD and Certate LT, thinking about the structure, but we'll definitely see that when the new TP XD is out and we get it :)
@@jpfishingtacklenews195thank you sir. For ease of retrieving, winding and smoothness do you think the original twin power c3000, or coming Twin power xd c3000 or vanquish 4000 would be better as I want to have a reel of 200-215g to match with my light Labrax 86ML rod.
@ Ok, well then I would use Vanquish 4000MHG (or 4000XG depends on the gear ratio and line capacity you need) as I assume you would not need such reeling power from the metal rotor, and not that heavy duty using seabass ML rod. The big difference of Vanquish and TP XD is the body material, Vanquish has strong and light magnesium, which needs special coating not to be corroded, and TP has aluminium body which is heavier but stronger against corrogion. Unless you use the reel at rock shore or something that the reel can have scratches easily, I would select Vanquish :)
@ Hmm.. still depends on what's the most important thing for you, but I would possibly use XD if the lure does not have a front cup or lip, as they won't have much water pressure and XD can possibly catch more information from inside the water. But if it has cup and/or lip, I would use TP to have power for better retrieve control.
Finally they took off the grease from the line roller and bet on another system. I wish it will work well, because since I have Shimano models with the "non manteinance" line roller protected by that water repelent grease, I have my worst issues in the roller bearings. I have been using Shimano reels since 20 years at least. I always lubricated the line roller every 3-4 fishing sessions, and the bearing have lasted years perfectly. I should say that I fish in the sea. With the last models since my Stradic Ci4+ FB, I should do that nearly every session if I don't want to have problems, once I had to make the first manteinance in the line roller. I think this new system that prevents water intrussion just by the parts mounted in the line roller, makes you having to lubricate it, but not so often, and it will last more and better. Another good solution is the one I saw in my D. Emeraldas RX LT 2023. Cheaper than Stradics, and has two bearings with two little gaskets in the roller. A year without any manteinance and the first time I opened it to clean and lubricate, I was all like new. This reel has other issues, but the line roller system is 👌🏼. Shimano only use this system in the SW reels, 😢.
Sorry for confusion, but they don't take off the grease, it is about the movie they show, it's just an image how water comes in and out without grease, but the actual reel does have grease. We are sorry to hear you have multiple line roller issues. Hope this update will enhance the issue better!
Yes the biggest one is C5000, 4000 body + 5000 spool and yes 4000/C5000 are good for surf, depends on the capacity you would like to have. 4000 has PE1.5-320m/PE2-240m, C5000 has PE2-300m/PE3-200m.
Well personally I am expecting it will be out next year, I don't believe it'll be released this year as it can be another big product of them, I would expect they would use it as one of their big news of 2026.
The rotor is the same, parts are slightly different inside compare to Vanquish, and the body material where Vanquish has as magnesium is aluminium on XD, and the advanced durable line roller. Additionally, the barrier-coat spool ring is featured to XD but Vanquish. So the XD is like, additionally durable Vanquish :)
Hi, hmm we are considering those but a bit off from our plan at moment as we don't use those light reels quite often. But personally, I would go with Gekka Bijin as of the AirDrive Design and the smoothness of the drag :)
@@jpfishingtacklenews195 I'm quite skeptical with Daiwa, I bought a Fuego and it had very bad handle play and it stops working when washed with fresh water, I might have to take the plunge here! Really appreciate the work you guys do keep it up!
@@piesaturn6282 Oh I see.. Well those kind of "manufactural failure" can happen on both Shimano's and Daiwa's but I do understand you would not be able to believe if you experienced that thing for sure. My answer is just my opinion and those reels are quite similar, so that would be good for you if you select the prefered brand one :) And thank you very much for your comment, your words really motivate us to keep creating videos!
We can't clearly answer the question at moment, but I would possibly yes if you don't mind about Infinity Loop. We will of course compare with the 2021 model when it's out and shipped over to us from Japan, so please subscribe and wait for our review, if you like to watch :)
If I were you, I would select reels totally depends on the field. If you just use for open water, and/or river, canals, broadwater, then there would be no reason to me, I would use Vanquish. If you would use one off the rock, the reel could get much saltwater on it, and/or use offshore as well, and/or the paired rod is too heavy against Vanquish, then I would probably take this over Vanquish due to it's material.
Yeah basically it depends what you are for, but if it's for rock shore / beach / offshore I would actually select this TP XD over the Vanquish. The Vanquish is a strong yet lightweight reel due to its magnesium alloy construction. However, magnesium alloy has less corrosion resistance, so if it gets scratched, the exposed metal can corrode. And some internal parts have been modified for weight reduction, so it doesn’t offer the same level of durability as the TP XD. The TP XD uses an aluminum alloy, which is more corrosion-resistant than magnesium. Its internal parts are likely the same robust components used in the standard TP, prioritizing strength and reliability. For tough and demanding use, I personally choose the TP XD.
@jpfishingtacklenews195 im currious tho how strong is the MGL Rotor? I know with seabass and medium sized fish it can handle it. But with large strong fish will it be able to take the abuse long term compared to the solid core series?
@ Obviously, the Core Solid reel rotors are stronger for sure, MGL rotor is not that strong. I caught 2-3 spanish mackerels per day with XD and handled well, but personally I would use normal TP for that. So, except you have certain reason to have light and sensitive rotor, I would use Core Solid series for larger species. If that's for the spotted / school mackerel or up to similar strength fish species, XD can handle well :)

Does the lure retrieve lighter to the new twin power xd or twin power fe
For the retrieve power, I would say normal TP should be lighter. But if it's a lure with low water resistance, XD reel might feel lighter.
