- The Triumph Bonneville Speed Twin 900 has arrived, and in this video I document my first ever ride on a bonnie! It's been a long time coming and I have been very excited to try this motorcycle. It's safe to say it didn't disappoint! Beautiful looks, a stunning exhaust sound, and a price that doesn't break the bank.
I explain why I haven't ridden one until now (may be something to do with the motorcycle licensing!).
Stay tuned for my full review of this highly popular modern classic motorbike coming soon!

I own one. Biggest issues are 1. Ergonomics and seat, not good for taller riders for more than an hour 2. Stock tires are pants 3. Fuel range a bit on the short end. Otherwise rides lovely and lots of torque and character. Btw you should note your bike has just about every single accessory part changed, does not come with that seat, flyscreen, mirrors or indicators as standard
Believe it or not manufactures don't tell us the bikes that they send us have any accessories fitted or not, so not personally being a Triumph owner I had no way of knowing 👍🏼
Until you have ridden a 1970s MZ with its original East German "rubber" you can't describe any modern tyre as "pants".
@@stevetaylor8698I threw my MZ Supa 5 own the road on those Pneumant DDR tyres ! 1977 Loved the bike though
@@superleggendaI have a 2016 model which of course it came with the Pirelli, I must say that those tires are Pure S$%t, I they want a modern Classic to handle like a Classic, they achieved there Goal because those tires feel like they came from the the 50's era. I Don't know how to describe it but even riding round a big roundabout at 40km/h the rear feels like it's sliding under you left and right, very sketchy. And in the rain ..thank god it has Traction Control😅
@@ripmax333Those tyres are utter garbage. According to genius Stuart Fillingham, those Pirelli’s are world class and marvellous. On my previous T120 I changed mine at 15k. On my new T120 I’m stuck with the Pirelli, until they get more worn out I’ll change them. You mention rain, well it’s like riding on Ice those Pirelli.
This bike surprised me how good it is!
I have the ''22 model (when it was called the Street Twin). Absolutely love it. Plenty of power for the real world, looks nice, sounds nice, good fuel consumption. Never felt the need for a sixth gear. Wouldn't mind a bigger tank, though.
Me too. Never felt the need for a sixth gear because who wants to ride a bike on the motorway? A bigger tank would be nice but bigger mudguards that actually do something would be even better! I have fitted a fender extender but still not fit for purpose.
Bonneville is a gorgeous bike...in the USA I think this bike is loved because it looks like classic bikes from years past, nostalgia is not always a bad thing. I think the bonny and speedmaster are 2 of the most beautiful bikes ever made
A very nice bike. It's thanks to this bike that I got back into riding. I can't wait to see the more complete description.
Very nice bike, Had a Street Twin. Loved it. Every time you stop, little old men come over and talk to you. Get used to it.
I always enjoy the videos you and your dad make
Thanks again
Great 👍🏼
Nice review , the ole man will like the centered speedo
Thanks Darcy really looking forward to the full review. I absolutely love my Street Twin. I’ve had it from new and it’s taken me all over the UK in comfort. I’m 6’2” tall and the bike is extremely comfortable for literally all day riiding, I’ve no idea why people seem to think it doesn’t suit a taller rider. The engine is exquisite with superb low down torque and is creamy smooth. The bike hasn’t been 100% trouble free, the indicator switch has required warranty repair twice as has the horn button. All sorted without drama though by my super friendly dealer Destination Triumph Dorset. Thanks again.
Thank you and yes we feel it feels ok for a taller rider 👍🏼
Hi
I suspect it depends on how flexible (young!) you are. I tested one and even at 5.9 with a 29 inseam found the seat to peg ratio a bit uncomfortable. Got a T120 which I find is fine. Looking forward to see what Darcy makes of the 1200’s.
Regards
@@denisg4288 Hi Denis I’m 54 and definitely not as flexible as I used to be. The long flat bench seat means you can move back and forward depending on how long your legs are to get a comfy position
@@ianpotter5840 True!
Nice gearing, good sound, brakes work well. Like the low seat height which gives confidence. Handling fine. Happy with 5 gears.
I have the Street Scrambler and absolutely love it. Out of the many bikes I’ve owned over the years it is my favourite. It’s not a top speed monster but does everything I need, looks the dogs danglies and sounds awesome (I put a V&H full system on it). I also own a 76 Meriden Bonneville, also a blast to ride, sounds better, handles pretty good and gets a lot of nods and thumbs up (a lot more maintenance and love but that is half the pleasure for me!). Comparing the two is pointless, worlds apart, but each has its own unique vibe and character. You can get a cat delete for these Street/Speed Twin 900’s which will make it sound more throaty…
There’s a sharp distinction between pre and post 2019 Triumph 900 twins, pre 2019 they had a cam fitted specifically to reduce power, these engines feel flat, just as the power comes in it tails off!, almost feels like you have hit the Rev limiter, so for anyone thinking “that’s nice, I’ll get a cheaper second hand one”, do yourself a favour and get a late 2019 onwards (65 PS on the V5), it’s a far more willing engine with the hotter cam.
PS the reason triumph initially fitted the soft cam was to create a bigger power differential between the 900 and the 1200’s, basically just a marketing ploy).
If you have nice open roads all over the place, Yes, go for the newer version. Personally my 55hp model suits me better, more than enough power for chill out riding, But for anyone that gets a deal with an older model the Cam can be easily replaced with a British Customs after market Cam, which will make the street Twin exactly like the newer version, there is even a full video how to do it on you tube if I remember correctly, so if get a good deal there also a chance to improve if needed.
@@ripmax333 Good point depending how cheaply you can get a pre 2019 model it could work out cheaper just fitting the TEC bikes or British Customs cam 👍
Don't like the bags but easy change...sounds good though. Great review!
Not having bags on your bike is fine if all you do is go for a short ride at the weekend. However, if a bike is to be your main or only means of personal transport or if you are using it for commuting, then they are essential. I also have a top box as when I get to places I don't want to have to tug around a crash helmet.
At last.
A bike that sounds good.
Whatever silencers its running its spot on...very soulful glad you enjoyed your ride 😊
This 900cc twin motor sounds so musical!
This bike’s a blast. Mine’s a 2020 with lots of performance and visual mods to make it look a bit like a 60s street scrambler with modern vibe. It’s very well built and rides beautifully. So much fun, the sound alone gets me wanting to ride it, excellent for the city and the road.
I’ve got the last year of the Street Twin, 2022, same bike basically. Looks like Triumph are now including some of the mods most people will do right off the bat like tail tidy, bench seat, and bar end mirrors. It’s a great bike. Wish I had a bit more power on the highway, but other than that I love it.
I got scrambler 1200 xc 2 weeks ago. Its nice
Very nice!
While viewing some the comments there seems a bit of negativity coming towards the Triumph brand as it is on your Harley videos. I've owned a couple Harley's and probably twelve Triumphs over the years with an assortment of BMWs and all the Japanese brands thrown in. I don't understand why people try to tear down brands and models they have never owned,
Totally agree there seems to be a huge prejudice towards them. And most of the hate comes from people who’ve never ridden them
I've owned three Sportsters, one of which was an 883R that had a 1450cc kit. The key word here is "owned". I never got the whole Harley thing, so I ended up selling all three Sportsters, usually after less than a year. "If Harley made a plane, would YOU fly in it?!"
Great review! I have a 21 Street Twin cobalt blue it's a great ride, lack of a 6th gear is not an issue as the gear ratios are fine. It is a Bonneville, it's not a T100 or T120 but the Street Twin/Speed Twin 900 is a version of the Bonneville.
I have an older Street Twin ( the lower powered version) and I'd agree with you and especially so with all available the low down torque. A 6th gear is genuinely not needed. Coming from a 6-speed Yamaha, I thought that I'd miss it, but no.
I owned one of these for three years, and had various problems. It certainly is a nice looking bike but my ownership experience was not good. It was an early model (Street twin) so perhaps the later ones are better.
That’s a shame, yes hopefully these are better long term
It is a very good looking bike. I love the cast wheels and wish more manufacturers gave you the option of them without having to buy the wire-wheeled version first. Who needs an unused set of spoked wheels cluttering up the shed ???
You have a set of spoked wheels for the street Twin?
I loved the last of the air/oil cooled Triumphs. I feel Triumph should have continued along the that line of simplicity. Moto Guzzi, BMW, Enfield and Harley still manage to keep air/oil cooled bikes relevant and prove there's still a substantial customer base that demand simple tech. Consider for a moment how Royal Enfield smashed a hole in the Triumph modern classic sector with their 650's...Triumph would do well to counter that loss with a return to simplicity, similar in price to the RE 650 with a perhaps another air/oil cooled 650-750. The most "fun" rides Ive ever had have always been on inexpensive air/oil cooled twins. There is something inherently right with that ingredient.
Lovely bike, thank you for the review Mr, Darcy.
Thanks for the review and good to see if you like it as much as the Guzzi
I have a 2018 Street Twin 900, been riding since the early 80's. My youngest daughter got her mc license last year, and she likes to take the ST around the neighborhood whenever she comes to visit. It's a great beginner bike, low seat height, easy to handle, not intimidating for her at all. It's also a fun bike to ride for someone like me who's been riding for 40 years. Mine has the V&H slip-ons with the dB killers removed, decat pipe, and a Booster Plug. It sounds and runs great, pulls hard and quick up to 100+ mph, much better than stock. Interesting comparison with the Guzzi, I'll be trading in my ST for a '24 Guzzi V7 Corsa, dealer has the stage 1 mods ready to install (Agostini reverse cone mufflers, open airbox lid, UPMAP tuner). I've owned a Tiger and the ST, but have owned five air-cooled Guzzis over the years, so I'm going back to the marvels from Mandello!
Great presentation of a beautiful bike, thanks, Darcy 🙏
Many thanks!
@@MrDarcy-OlMan U R most welcome, mate 🤝
Very nice Darcy, love that engine. You can buy an x pipe to remove the cat and make the bike better. Love the bar end mirrors have them on my Bonny 👍 wish they had put the T120 and T100 brake res on the speed as the plastic res on the bars looks out of place. Agree on the gearbox very precise and love it. Also wish they would pop the twin clocks on this bike. Look forward to your full final thoughts. Cheers Nick
I think the catalytic converter is welded on the new models.
Nice one Mr Darcy 👍
Bob's Your Uncle
Great styling.
Great sound.
Ideal machine.
I’ve got a 2019 Version so not the extra bhp but I love it , it’s got plenty of power for everyday riding
Good looing bike. I would consider a Triumph as a 3rd bike. 👍
Absolutely, it’d be a good choice
My 2nd bike is a speed twin 900 chrome edition and I love it, in my opinion it doesn’t need a 6th gear, handles great, terrific motor and gearbox, yes its a small frame but that makes it really great in the twisties. So much fun to ride 👍
Great in the twisties...at far over 400 lbs? S,ow down or reality will bite you.
@@jeremykeller211it depends what kind of rider you are, I do agree that at 200+ kg wet its not a super naked kind of bike but for someone that like to chill out and take the corners at moderate speeds it does behave ok, but not with those stock Pirelli tires.
But yes, if you want something kinda classy but lighter and more fun to attack the Corners a Ducati scrambler is more appropriate.
@@ripmax333 i hear you and yes, I’ve been riding since I was a teenager and I’m about to be 59 years old , moderate to kinda quick is exactly what I do now ! And it’s good for that. I’m more into the looks at this age. I will get better tires when these are done. Oh yeah, a good motor with ok pull, got to really twist the throttle to keep it going through corners. I live in Tennessee and ride up a curvy mountain road, good smooth asphalt, 60mph through corners. I want to hit 90-100 on the short straights in between but just can’t. My 1250 GS will do it. I also notice a lot of front end dive on heavy breaking into a corner, its definitely not a super sport. Ride safe 👍
@@jeremykeller211 yup a bit heavy, I’ve been riding since I was a teenager and i’m about to be 59 years old, so I go kinda quick now. Limit my risk. It’s good for that, definitely many bikes out that would blow it off the road. I do set up early and have to watch that line, its not light. Could use more power coming out of a corner also. If you know what you’re doing you can throw it around pretty good. Its no super sport. I bought it for the looks, I like Triumphs, reminds me of some bikes I had years ago. I look at new Ducatis, Aprilla, Japanese bikes, so many very fast great machines. But I leave them for the younger generation now. Ride safe but quick !
I got a 2021 speed twin 1200 for my first bike, i believe the frames etc are different from the 900.
I'm 6ft 2 and surprise you fit on the 900! I sat on one in a showroom months after getting my 1200 and the 900 was far to small for me
It is a nice looking bike. Agree on the bags, not the right style.
A fantastic entry level bike. Easy to handle and enough power for the reality. But why the wish for removing the catalytic converter? Makes no sense (and totally illegal here in Germany). Looking forward seeing the full review. Cheers from Germany 🇩🇪🇬🇧
That's just one more reason (besides the throat cutting taxes) to leave that ishthole Germoney.
So many beautiful countries around without fascist TÜV/Finanzamt 😁
'Sounds great, the exhaust looks good but cut out the catalytic converter.' 😅🤪
Why???
I think it’s welded on the newer models so not easy to change out.
@@racheltaylor6578not that more complicated, you need to remove the rear mufflers and front pipes, plus maybe the lower frame cradle or maybe just one side of it.
I've never ridden one, either. Freddie Dobbs has some great leather panniers. Hepco & Becker ones. They fit on to the C-Bow frames. I like a bench seat, too. Nick J
Yes leather panniers look nice 👌
@@MrDarcy-OlMan On certain bikes. I reckon a GS would look a bit odd with them. Haha.
I much prefer the V7 Special, I feel you get much better value for money with a Moto Guzzi and there are less of them on the road. Who doesn't love an Italian bike?
Great overall review. I have one, 23 model. If you want more metal pieces, get the Kawasaki W 800. But I dearly love my Speed twin 900. I am 68 inches tall and it is absolutely a great fit for me.
I’ve got a first generation StreetTwin. The new ones have a better front break and more horse power but it’s still a great bike and enough power for me.
Ironically the W800 feels more british than this Triumph with its 360deg crank, But both great bikes imo.
Yes, I like it too … I agree, it needs a 6th gear. Other than that, she’s a beauty. Thanks for sharing!
Hard to choose betwean Triumph and Moto-Guzzi. Both are beautifull and charaterfull european bikes for the discerning enthusiast.
Agree about the saddle bags.. not the nicest looking. Also agree about the dial, should be metal. I’m not a fan of the LED indicators either.. but a nice bike. Will be interested to watch your full review to see if you still prefer the Guzzi??
T120. . .gotta try it before you choose.
I own one and thats the end of the world bike of mine 😎 capabile to do everything 🎉 and stupidly fast you should try 0-60 😎 I wish there was a 6th gear too
"stupidly fast"?! Not quite, for a 900 it's significantly underpowered. I have the V&H slip-ons with the dB killers removed, decat pipe, and a Booster Plug on my '18, and I would describe the acceleration as "brisk", but certainly not "stupidly fast". My 2018 Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 will leave my Street Twin for dead, and a Ducati Monster S4RS 996 that I used to have would absolutely smoke the ST. But the ST is a great bike to ride in its own right, sounds great, easy to handle, would make for a good commuter or daily rider.
She is a thing of beauty, looking forward to the full review!
Any chance of you guys getting you hands on a Honda gb350 s or gb350? Would love to hear your opinion on those.
We’d love to if and when we can get our hands on one. Looks like a royal Enfield!
@@MrDarcy-OlMan yeah, love the styling myself. Thank you mates, much appreciated!
I've got one love it.
Great bike!
I’ve got one ( and once upon a time I had a Meriden Bonneville) - I’m old and quite short, so it’s perfect for me. It’s a shame the clock and the brake reservoir aren’t as classic as the general look of the bike. It’s an old fashioned bike that actually works, though the 270° crank spoils the sound of a real Triumph and makes it sound a bit like a Sportster - however the absence of genuine 1960’s vibration means I have to forgive it! Il be interested to see what you think in your proper review.
They are nice bikes ,but I like duel clocks and wire wheels of the T120 or Speed Twin I think.
Previous versions were called the 'street twin'
Yes it was
I'm inclined to think that riding a Bonneville for the first time, it should have been on the T100. That is for me, the real Modern Classic and the way into the world of the Bonneville. I also think the T100 is far better looking than the Speed Twin, and it being the definition of quality and refinement, amongst all other bikes in the Modern Classic segment.
Helmet reference please. Great Video
Thanks, its a Ruroc helmet 👍🏼
I am looking at a 2017 900 Street twin for my next bike.
Nice looking bike 👍🏼
When will you test a 1200? No need for me since I own one but for those that has an A licence and that extra cash it is a no brainier. And it has six gears. And sounds even better.
That said, I Would love and can recommend the 900 Scramler. Light and sweet on crappy roads.
Nice short review.
Thank you, I’ve got the 1200 coming this week 😁
Very boring engine ... i am happy that i sold my Triumph 900. I found true love in my new Moto Guzzi V7
Guzzi V7 has so much character
so you like querky. thats just super.
Didn’t you review the T100 recently?
The old man did
They do make an X-pipe, that replaces the cat convertor.
Who does that for 2023/24 models?
@@Alex-HD I don't know. I saw videos of people replacing the cat, with xx pipe
Greetings from Texas - I love y’all’s channel. I’m looking forward to more Triumph content, but I’m biased as I ride a 2020 Speed Twin (this was when they only came with 1200 cc engines). Also, where did you find your riding jacket?
Similar to the T100/T120, I think the 6th speed gearbox is kept as an upsell feature. I love the gearbox on mine, and I agree that it shifts with a nice, positive feel without being heavy or clunky.
I would like a similarly-styled seat that is comfortable for more than an hour and a half, the front brake started sqeaking a few thousand miles in (I was hoping I had dodged that bullet), and the seat gets hot (possibly my aftermarker lithium battery - hope it doesn’t explode). Those things aside, I love everything about the bike. It doesn’t get amazing fuel mileage (I average 49.5 mpg US)and the tank isn’t huge, but you look for something other than a Speed Twin if those are more important features to you.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks 😊
That one also hurts my soul I don't own one.
I own a 2018' Street Twin, the seat is very painfull for my old bones. Yours seems more "normal". A 6th gear should be very pleasant too.
Replace your stock seat with one from a T100. Only thing you have to do is raise the seat latch mechanism. I stacked some nuts and used longer bolts, easy peasy. It's a LOT more comfortable than the OEM seat.
Can you review the new RE Himalayan 450? thanks!
Yes we are on the list for that as soon as it is in the UK 👍🏼
Once you've riden a Bonneville you have to have one.
Fair review. How was the handling? I own a T120 Black and had to upgrade suspension front and rear as Triumph had not exactly invested in the stock suspension. She was good before but is now excellent.
Thank you, if you watch my full review I talk about the handling 😊

@@MrDarcy-OlMan I shall - thanks 🙂
i have recently ridden one as a loan bike as my tiger 660 sport was in for a service, and straight away i noticed that the tyres were a noticeable difference compared to my bike and the seat height is really low even for a shortie like me. I was given the red chrome edition model and i loved the exhausts as they gave a real deep bass like sound. Lovely to ride but let down by the small fuel tank range.
Why does this and scrambler 400x shares some visible feature even though they are in completely different price range?
Would you rather have this or the V7 850?
I’d have the V7 personally
Me too, good choice. I think the V7 is more charismatic. Also the fact that it is hand built in Italy makes it more desirable
Came here to ask this question! 😂
Left here agreeing with all the answers 😁👍🏻
Traded in my street twin for a V7.
No regrets in 3 years.
Triumph had afew problems!
Gearbox and electrics. Customer service atrocious.
and more liable to break down.@@bijouxsurroues2897
Triumph is all fine and dandy, but Royal Enfield is a machine with a soul.
Fair point.
to you.
My Bonnie has plenty of soul. What on earth are you talking about?
Looks like Triumph have copied SWMotech blaze panniers. Perhaps Motech make them for Triumph? The Street Twin was a better name for this bike. The bar ends? Are they standard? Doubt it. They look like an accessory. They come out of the factory on the bobber.
Yes the bike has a number of accessories which I wasn’t aware of. We never get given this information as it happens!
Legend💬💯👍
Still prefer them with 360-degree cranks.
Although I love the sound of my street Twin, I fully agree with you on this One, the old triumphs with the 360 deg crank have the best sound ever for a parallel Twin cylinder, when Triumph opted for the 270deg for me its like they lost something that defined Triumph from the rest. Its like Harley all of a sudden decided to go with a 180deg crank all of a sudden😢
You want to W650
Bro, try a Triumph Thunderbird, I just got one. They move.
Shit, they even handle and stop great.
The Bonneville seat doesn’t look comfy for old souls though …?
Had a Bonneville 1200 and the seat was not bad at all..and that seat on that speed twin is an options..
I'm really fed up with the sheer laziness of the motorcycle industry. It is ridiculous that modern classics and nakeds are now only available completely blacked out. Unless you're prepared to pay £1000+ premium, as with the Moto Guzzi V7 Special or the Triumph Bonneville T100/T120, black is all you get, period. The "new" Royal Enfield Interceptor and Continental GT are completely blacked out other than the tank and the discontinuation of the Orange Crush Interceptor means that there is now no RE 650 available with rims that aren't black. A century ago the joke was that the Ford Model T was available in any colour you want as long as it's black. Ford did it to keep prices low but what's the modern motorcycle industry's excuse?
I think the industry is probably responding to the market, where a large proportion of younger riders prefer their modern classics in dark colours, or blacked out. Obviously doesn't suit everyone.
IMO, if you consider that you are paying over €10,000 for a Frame, 900c engine, ABS, Traction Control, 2 wheels, small Tank and the rest Plastic, its just ridiculously Expensive. That rear mudguard of this particular street Twin cost about €400! That's Insane IMO.
@@gavshields83 personally I find it short-termist and lazy. It also reeks of corner-cutting given that chrome plating is more expensive than just powder coating everything black, they're trying to cut production costs whilst charging the customer more.
Where modern classics are concerned, it's also a way to facelift something on the cheap that can't be substantially restyled because of its nature. The Royal Enfield Interceptor/Continental GT really need a refresh, both in the engine department and in terms of appointments, e.g., LED tail light and indicators. Blacking out the whole bike from nose to tail is merely showing a lack of imagination and an unwillingness to do the job seriously.
I watched a video the other day which reviewed the Honda Rebel 500 and its Japanese middleweight rivals. To say that it was impossible to distinguish one from the other visually is an understatement. Identical styling, identical exposed tubular frame construction, and all black from nose to tail. What's that all about?
Shame about the alloy wheels. Spoked would be far more classic looking.
I agree, but as far as alloys go these were nice

_But they still make those bikes mate!_
Okay okay, so it's a contemporary classic!
I hate the halogen headlamp
First off, I hate plastic cheap feeling gauges on $10000 motorcycles
Sorry Mr Darcy, but that is a speed twin,a Bonneville has twin clocks, spoked wheels, two tone paint job on the tank, with hand painted pin stripes, and chrome badges on the tank, also air cooled like my 2008 Bonnie

@@stevetaylor8698I'm on my second street twin and still don't need 6 gears 🙄😂
The gearing on this motorcycle are very Tall, trust me, you won't feel the need for a 6th gear on this one.
Classic Speed Twin brake squeal
Pretty bike, but underwhelming. The $$, 5 speed & h2o cooling push it off my list, sadly....
yes , does nothing for me,, why not get rid of the not needed water cooling and invest in a 6th gear to take the heat off the motor ;;
That front brake master cylinder is about as ugly as can be but yet manufactures continue to use them. I agree if it’s not a six speed I probably wouldn’t buy it. Those hideous looking saddle bags would also have to go..
Speed twin and Bonneville is different bike..but it looks werry similar
Classic retro bikes all look the same. If you like how they look, fine. It is just a bit predictable: never anything out of the box or creative.
I think that’s purely personal preference. I think there’s a big variety. For me the all the modern bikes look the same
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Diavel vs BMW GS? Rocket vs Goldwing? I think the variety is here and now.
Not really, Kwaka 900 classic is totally different to the Triumph classics. That’s like saying all sports bikes look the same.
@@johnmartin7158 fair point, it is a category (and the kawa z900RS looks great by the way)
It looks so small under you!
Just because no 6th gear…nope.
Why would you need one?
It doesn't need one. At legal (or illegal) speeds, the acceleration, revs, and fuel consumption are all good.
@@MaaZeus I had many 5 gears and on highway (can’t afford 2 bikes or more ) it’s to « rough « of a ride at 110km/h.
@@rtclark88 ah maybe for that bike. Didn’t like having only 5 gears on Sportsters.
@@ikust007 It is not really about amount of gears but the ratio of them. If you want lower RPM at highway speeds you can change the front sprocket into a 1 tooth bigger without much difference in acceleration. 2 tooths and you get major RPM drop but then acceleration takes a more noticeable drop, if that it as at all important with classic bikes like this. That said, by default these bikes handle highway speeds just fine and, unlike Harleys, being shorter stroke engines they are actually happier at higher revs, about 3000 and upwards. Lugging them low isn't good for them on the long run.
Nice bike but if you are over 60. Now at 50 i just got a hornet 750.
