Mr Manu should be included in all state and central education panels which makes history curriculum for secondary and higher secondary education. He is just brilliant❤
Thank you SparX for introducing Manu Pillai to us. I really enjoy the details and nuances he adds to the stories of history which previously used to be a tails of just wins and loses. Also he paints the picture of historical character with much more depths and make them look much more human which interestingly makes us fall in love to those character even more.
Another brilliant episode. Being an ardent Manu fan I am usually all praises for his articulation skills and knowledge. But here, I want to comment on the quality of questions. When you get to converse with someone like Manu you need sensible questions to make the most out of the conversation. And thats precisely happening here. Thank you Sparx for this series. Totally enjoying it and looking forward to the next episode.
Thank you for your feedback. We're so glad that you're enjoying this series with Manu Pillai! We have two more episodeIs coming up. Do let us know if you have suggestions/ideas that can help us improve.
Manu is such a brilliant academic and writer, it's a pleasure to hear him talk. We should be thrilled about people like him being active in this era of historical revisionism and forced homogenisation that is tearing the Indian union from the inside out.
An outstanding and very informative conversation and the way the questions were posed and answered covered a very important period of our history in a hour' time
Read the book 'When the war began we heard of several kings' an account of the life of those rookie indian soldiers 17 to 18 yr olds who were sent to Europe to fight wars fornthe crown. Most of them were missing their native lands and ended up as prisoners of war.
Totally loved the episode ... history is not black and white as its sold and taught .. it has all the colors we can and cannot imagine and this is what I learnt through this episode. Thanks you Mukesh sir and Manu for broadening our perspective of history ..! Looking forward to the next 2 episodes !
Already read 2 of books, and they are awesome, totally different from what we have read in our textbooks, it's not about incidents or wars but about real people and their life, love his writing ❤
Thanks for the enlightening episode Manu and Mukesh. I do have a request for an episode where perhaps you can postulate upon alternate history of India, perhaps along the lines of what if India was a Spanish colony or Portugese What if we drove back the first attempt of governance by eic What if India had won its first ever battle of independence And so on... It would be interesting to reflect upon this and perhaps help give perspective on how "great" India could have been had it not been colonized by British
British ships of east India company and other British merchant ships coming back to England were often attacked by Portugese and other European navies and pirate ventures, therefore the British Navy had to get involved to support British commerce

We must think of Baroda's Sayajirao Gaikwad when we think of Benevolent Indian kings.
I put it to you that vilifying the British rulers is a total waste of time.
