My name is Abbie Emmons I teach writers how to make their stories matter by harnessing the power and psychology of storytelling, transforming their ideas into a masterpiece, and creating a lifestyle that makes their author dreams come true.
Story isn’t about “what happens” - it’s about how what happens affects and transforms the characters. I believe that there is an exact science (a recipe, if you will) behind a perfect story. And if you know what ingredients you need, you can create your own perfect story with ease and confidence. That’s what we talk about every week on this channel - and if it’s something you’re into, be sure to subscribe and join this community! - Розваги
Finally a new one! I play all of them on repeat on my days off when I have stuff to do... I can't wait!
The "window only" imagery reminds me of a typical day in the life of living in Canada, looking out the window of my 1914 home, and seeing SNOW lol.
But don't worry, I do find it beautiful and peaceful! With the exception of shoveling excessive amounts of it by myself 😂
I love academias, I love snowing, I love libraries, I love writing... and you put it all together in just one lovely video! So I love you too! :D
YESSSSSSSSS THANK YOU ABBIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THESE ARE SO HELPFUL WHEN DOING SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!! I GET ALOT DONE IN TWO HOURS!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ✨💖✨
This takes me back to university. There was a library in one of our neo gothic buildings that had four overstuffed red leather chairs looking out over a courtyard. The heaters were directly in front of the chairs too. Reading (also napping) in one of those chairs in the winter was divine.
If anyone watching this goes to the University of Toronto, visit Hart House library and read a couple chapters of Jane Eyre in my honour.
I’m so late to this but it’s insanely helpful. The audio is great because it keeps me focused without getting me off track like lyrical music, and when I look at my screen (my usual method of getting distracted) I just see the timer.
Thanks for making this! I’d love to see more.
Out of all the immersive writing videos this one is my favorite next to traveling in a medieval world.
I love these beautiful silent ones. I can imagine I am somewhere and it's silent so I can concentrate
I miss the writing session with music. I hope that in the future will be more of them. It's a little boring just listening to the sound of snow and wind. (No critic, no judgment, just my opinion)
I’m sure she’ll do more of those in the future! Have you seen her playlist of the previous ones with music? Also her Spotify has a lot of writing playlists, too 🤗
Yeah! I've already listened to every playlist that she made and I love them all. Thank you anyway for your advice ❤
I agree! The train writing session is so goooooddddd
I like the white noise; it's calming. I listen to this session when I'm freewriting, or exploring potential directions a story can take.
I actually like the ones without music so I can listen to my own music or one of her Spotify playlists at the same time! I like both kinds. I find uses for both
Abbie Emmons. We'll probably never meet. You write books I won't ever read. And I write ones that won't interest you. Despite that I'm grateful for this technological connection, even though it is artificial and onirical in a way. It's like talking to a spirit, lost in the grand sea of information, dozing off at the door of the Oracles. Your voice is akin to a song, a forgotten melody of incomprehensible words, floating in a garden made up by the imagination of bored nymphs.
Your eyes glimmer with hope and despair. I can see your tears behind all the charismatic smiles. The longing to create a masterpiece. To be loved. To feel recognized not only for your hard work. To be seen by the right people. To build a legacy signed with your name.
The flowers tell me of all the adventures that life holds. The birds tell me secrets about time itself. The pouring rain washes away illusions, making room for dreams and reality. The wishes turn into routine, blessing the journey with light and commitment. Not to change the world with the words that are channeled through me. That's not my goal. I write to take these impressions out of me. To exorcise demons. To summon angels. To maintain my sanity. To sow love in this world of disconnection.
Maybe you won't read this. Maybe you will. That's not the point at all. What I feel is the most important thing at this ephemeral glimpse called a moment. I am grateful. Really. I am. For having your imaterial presence in my life, pushing me forward. For being virtuous and caring. May the Muses bless you with inspiration and creativity.
From one writer to another.
Thank you for existing.
bro?
This is so cozy! Wish I could actually feel the heat from that fire place!
I would REALLY appreciate another Sci-Fi one- I’m writing a Sci-Fi novel and have been repeating the only one you have 🙏🏻
I did not know she had a Sci-Fi one up so thank you for telling me. Ima go watch it now. 👍
I love the ambient sounds of the wind and the fire, they are such comforting sounds for me, and REALLY love the sounds for the break! Please keep making these videos without music (music is good in them as well!) for us who like to listen to ambience by itself or with our own music in the background. Don’t mind the people in the comments being upset that there is no music in this one, I think it’s beautiful as it is.
I love the ambient sounds for the break at the 56:03 mark. I would listen to a whole session of that.
I know that I am late, but I am actually writing for final coursework. So, I needed this immersive writing session. Thank you!
I have made myself a cup of hot chocolate and I am ready to write!! These immersive writing sessions are the best!
I really like this one cause it reminds me of my story, ( Its set in a snowy world ) So I love this one. ❤

Thank you for this! I was feeling super unmotivated today and this helped so much with forcing me to buckle down and get my word count. I hit it and got a little extra.
I also loved the break at 56:03 with the talking and door sounds, was like a short little ASMR break! :)
This is perfect for the story I’m writing right now, thanks Abbie!
I really like this one. It puts me in the mind set I need for this particular writing session. Funny thing is my story is set in remote Cape York Queensland Australia and I'm listening to snow, wind and a cracking fire. Just goes to show that sounds are just important to a mood as is music. By the way I love your immersive sessions with instrumentals too.
I loved it, it kept me focused on the manuscript and I was highly satisfied with the protocol of what I wanted to finish. I am still working on chapter 4 of my novel, but it takes a lot of pages to write so I'm playing patient. But thank you.
Abbie, I love these SO MUCH. I hope you know I appreciate your hard work!
I love these ❤ - and writing in libraries 👌 ...perfect... TY
Thank you! These are how I write now. And also how I solo role play. They are perfect!
I was expecting this for a long time!. But I miss the music ...
Thank you so much ...I missed the live session but will be doing a late-night rendezvous with the sprint video. Can't beat the ambience...WOW, the carpet is just so familiar. You Rock and help us to Rock too🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hope you keep making more of these! I'm currently in animation school and this entertains me more then just listening to lofi all the time. The two hour time is also perfect.
YAYY!! I looooove your ambient timer videos! I am absolutely ecstatic that there is a new one!!!
Loved this, thank you. Its the perfect length of time for how long I want to sit and write.
Thank you so much for this!! ❤
bless you for this! I've been using your fall one over and over since it came out haha. I think I will like this one just as much. I was so excited to see this when I logged in today :)
Thank you for this!!!!
Love these musics
I love these sessions to the ends of the earth
So helpful! Love it! ❤❤
Oh this is lovely
Thank you for another one of these.
The playlist goes well with the video, but I wish the music was in the video instead. I don't have spotify premium, I can't afford it... so I keep getting ads and it ruins my concentration and distracts me (ads about holiday depression, drink responsibly, Daily Quote podcast, buy Spotify Premium!, etc. just don't fit with the vibe). 🙁 I wish I didn't have to play a separate music track with it and it was combined like the older ones.
I really like these to get writing done but I like the ambient sound with the music... it doesn't work so well for me when they're not together. I keep replaying "writing in an enchanted forest but it gets darker (and spookier?) the longer you write" and "Writing in a Haunted Victorian Mansion During a Thunderstorm"... I think they are my favourites so far. Dark fantasy castle on a story night I also use a lot.
I'm done the first sprint now and have 100 words and have had about 8 ads on Spotify... Ended up spending more time writing this than working on my story due to the ads. (video & playlist have been running while I wrote this...). After the break I'll try again. I really dislike Spotify for all those ads that are 2x as loud as the volume of the music.
Love this

How to correctly introduce and write a dystopian world without it being too "obvious" or giving too much information in the beginning? Also this very helpful thank you! :)
Can we get another cozy immersive writing video with music? The train one is maybe one of the best videos on the whole of UA-cam, lol. Appreciate you!
Could you pleeeeaaaase do a playlist with music that fits the vibe when your at school or in the morning waking up? XD
I would need something for a few chapters of my book :0
Amazing!! 💖💖💖😁
Can you make another one with the ocean view and fields and if you’re planning to add music can you add acoustic pieces? That would be awesome, thank you so much Abbie!
@AbbieEmmons your writing sessions are always on point, although, ones with music work a bit better for me. Can I suggest one in a Zen temple? With Asian music and chanting monks? That would be awesome 🤩
shoutout to the Bodleian library - though you need the slight smell of desperation to be truly accurate
Please please please. I need a piratey one. Sails cracking amongst whipping waves to a sirens song
It really sucks that there are youtube adds in here now :) one of the reasons that I liked these videos so much was because it was one of the few where you didn't get commercial interruptions if you didn't have Premium. As well as being the perfect length for writing sessions. Still like the ambiance, just unfortunate that youtube wants to ruin things for people unless you are willing to dish out money.

no music?
wait no music??!! WE MISS THE MUSIC ONES!!!
Scripts with STRONG female roles have been around, Disney just hasn't been looking. MTV, of all studios, has done a spectacular job of finding writing that is so perfect for strong female characters with the 1883, 1923 and Yellowstone series. Harrison Ford, Tom Hanks, Faith Hill, Isabel May, Tim McGraw, Billy Bob Thornton, Sam Elliot, Kevin Costner and even 007, Timothy Dalton, who turns in a spectacular job as a mean, greedy SOB who enjoys BDSM.
Isabel May is Elsa Dutton. A 17 year old that the ENTIRE three shows and all of the seasons are built on.
But Woke Disney finds female characters nobody wants and tries to pull a movie around them with crap plots and a script that the actors should have run from.
There's no better writing than what Sheridan does in these shows! I challenge anyone, ANYONE, to watch the first four minutes of 1883 and NOT want to binge watch all ten episodes!
commenting on the wrong video, bud.
Two hours of wind noise? seriously?
