- Today was an unbelievable day while metal detecting a new area where a civil war battle happened. I uncover a remarkable find and I'm very happy to save these from further decay. Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for watching. This was an unbelievable experience. Have nice rest of your week, Mike😊
Hey there Mike! Awesome day detecting for you. Congrats! I’ve never seen you without a hat on BTW. 😆 Hope to catch up and hunt with you again this season. 👍🏼👍🏼
Hey Jean. Thanks. Hope you are doing well. 😊
Wow, what a find! Watching from Northeast Alabama.
Thanks Richard!!!!!!!! Hope you are safe this evening with the weather.
Thanks Mike, watch you and Chigg all the time. Such bitter - sweet. The war equipment of one dead soldier and the wonder of how his demise happened and having his story told. This led me to closing my eyes and watching the battle as it happened. This soldier now did not die alone as we witness history.
Ah my. Thanks you so much for the kind words. Appreciate also the historical side to your comment. Love it😊
Mike you had an epic day, lifetime civil war finds all in one location. It must have been a very surreal moment for you. Whatever may have happened to the soldier, you were truly meant to find the proud items he wore and used. W love you to, you are a wonderful person with a great passion. 😀👍👏🙏
Oh my you guys. Thanks so much!!!!!
Theres an old treasure legend near where i live that talks about a cache of arms and other relics found along an old trail called the onondaga warpath and the muskets were old even around the time of discover say 1850s of course for years people have talked about buried treasure but i think alot of that was stirred up after the initial findings and there isnt really any information on the exact location
I have actually read about that before. Thanks for sharing this info. Very interesting
Where is everyone watching from? Hope you all are doing good!!!
Watching from Washington County, Maryland 👍
South shore of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
St. Paul, Minnesota 👍
N.E.Texas
@@Lornharding lol, because your comment caught my eye, i chose to add my own, East end Montreal (P.a.T), Quebec, Canada ;-). And to Mike, astonishing finds today. Well deserved congratulations :-)
WOW!!! Simply Unbelievable finds Mike!! Definitely a Day & Hunt to remember & THANK YOU for sharing he experience with us!
Hi Steve. Thanks man
Oh My Goodness.... That is unbelievable indeed. Like to have heard the Chigs gasp when you told him! Watching from Oregon. 👍
Thanks 😊. Yeah he was like " Amazing"!!
Good morning, Mike. You definitely had a great day, Civil War artifacts recovery. I'm from Martinsburg, W.V. and would love to find something amazing like that. It's so hard to find places to hunt. Congrats, Donnie- W.V. Veteran 🇺🇸
Thank you so much
Wow! That was quite a score. Some real American history. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thanks Tim!!!!!!!
Wow! A once in a lifetime find, all in one spot! Congratulations Mike! I am really happy for you!
Thank you Pappaw Mike!! Appreciate ya
The more i ponder on this the more i think this was a grave but more likely he was a Union scout that disappeared and was never found by anyone and animals didnt drag anything away???
Man i hate not knowing the rrrrest of the story lol
Keep diggn....
Yeah the story can take so many turns. I have read even of stories where the soldiers had to get rid of equipment fast to be able to retreat quickly. Get rid of weight. Thanks for watching 😊
Congratulations Mike thanks for sharing your finds. Although tragic to think a youngman had lost his life in battle but it is all part of our History in America and you where ment to find it. God Bless
God bless and thank you!!!
A big congratulations to you Mike what an Awesome day
Thank you Jeffrey!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations Amazing Finds !!!! 🌲🌲🌲🌲

Thank you so much!😊
Man that was awesome finds Mike.
Thanks Jimmy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome Mike. Thanks.
Thank ya Barb!!!!
Wow, Mike. Super congratulations on those amazing finds. Very likely, a soldier lost his life at that spot. I'm happy you were able to retrieve his things. The pocketknife is very special and personal.❤
Thanks Cynthia. Yes, pocket knives are actually one of my favorite items to find. I think I have said that in other videos.
Almost looks like the knife was open too. Maybe he was hunkering down digging out a bullet or cutting some strips of cloth for a tourniquet.
holly crap ! good day indeed !
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations!
😊Thank you!

Mike ! this was your day brother and i am so glad you got to make a historic find like this ! it reminds me of Brandon Suttons moment when he found his plates and bullets / knife in the creek . hunt of a lifetime man ! God Bless 🙏 - Matt
Thank you so much!! Yes I remember when he found that stuff. I was actually featured in a video with his video in an episode of Ken King's weekly dirt. I had found a gold coin in a civil war campsite. God Bless you also!!

More than likely that there's some buttons laying around there too.
@@jayharper2252 definitely. I'm going to go downstream eventually. Thanks for watching.
Jackpot - incredible finds, congratulations.
Thanks Barber Bob!!
I can't imagine any soldier voluntarily leaving their weapon during a war. Fabulous finds though!
Thanks Vicki. i have read there have been instances of them doing that. The bullets was heavy in the bag and the weight of the musket would slow them down. Suppose the enemy was overwhelming them and they needed to retreat quick. All that weight would slow them down But i am with you on that. It would have to be an absolute last option. Take care, MIKE
Ohio here. WOW, Mike!!! The best two hours you could have buddy! I bet Chigg is so happy for you!! I sure am!!
@@OG_Bearcat thanks Bear cat. Yeah he was like how Awesome!! Love your bear cat logo by the way. 😊

That was a Gr8 find Mike. The last couple videos have been some of the Gr8est videos for Gr8 finds I’ve seen yet! Great job !!
@@chuckjenkins4348 thank you Sir!!
I wanna see the bullet that's in the barrel???
If it's there that means 1 was fire or lost from his box ???
GREAT FIND !!!
Thank you!!! Unfortunately the barrel is full of rust and corrosion. I cleaned out a little with a drill bit but was concerned the barrel could break.
Great saves Mike! Congrats on some fantastic relics! Take care!
Thanks Shane. have a nice weekend,
MIKE
You will never forget September’24, lol. I saw a guy who mounted a rifle ( + pieces) he found on a board. It looked great. Great job, Mike!
Thanks Jill. I had a nice end to the summer water hunting season. Looking forward to the fields now. Little Mikey says thanks for the DVD player.
Wow incredible finds 🎉🎉🎉
Keep swinging 👌👍👏🇺🇸
@@johnsonfamilyadventures692 thank you!
That was fun to watch! Well deserved! Thanks, Mike.
Thanks again!
Great finds and in two hours.
Sir did the breast plate have its foundation as gorget (some WW2 uniforms still had them) or to help secure the straps(or both)
All the best
Thank you. Unfortunately the iron mounting hooks are gone. Usually the case when u find these in water. 😊
This is unbelievable Mike. This had to feel like a dream when you were pulling out this stuff out. I’m leaning toward him being mortally wounded in that spot, but there’s no way to know for sure. It’s cool that you were able to preserve the history regardless of how the stuff got there.
Thanks Nater. Yeah the story as to what happened is what makes it so interesting. Just glad to save it. I don't think the gun would of held up much longer. I wished I would of filmed more. but when all this was happening i was kind of in shock.
Just missing the bayonet. Thing would be proud
I looked all over for it. Kind of odd that its not there. Who knows what happened though prior to loosing all this. Thanks Greg!!
Oklahoma here... That is amazing and horrible at the same time... Heavy emotions going on... Thank you for sharing... God Bless You and your Family ✌️

Fired cap on the nipple? What an incredible find. Where's the powder flask?
Thanks. Im not seeing a cap on the nipple. I looked really hard for other items and nothing. I was thinking the bayonet also. Only thing I can think of is floods moved stuff.
@@gr8finds196 I'm also wondering if one of the 2 missing Minies is in the gun?
Oregon here. What a day man!!

Wll deserved as we know you work hard at this. Really happy for you! Appreciated the review of your finds with the pictures. Congratulations, Mike!
Thank you so much 😊
@@gr8finds196Hey, that was a thrill, just to watch, so can't begin to imagine what you were feeling. It really did create mixed emotions as we knew the possibilites. The more you found (and you knew what you were looking for!), the more evident it became that it probably all belonged to 1 soldier. We can create our own story as far as how it ended. Thanks again, Mike, for sharing your incredible day.

Thank you!! I usually get very excited. When this happened I was kind of in shock and really didn't even know how to react to this. I had a lot of emotions going on. Appreciate ya!!
@@gr8finds196 I can only imagine! I got the legend last year (first detector) but haven’t had the opportunity to get on some decent land where I could find some civil war relics yet. But yeah I can definitely see how finding a spot like that where a soldier quite possibly passed away, with all that’s left of his presence is the metal he had on him, would be incredibly emotional. I’d be tempted to search the soil there to see if there’s any chance the leather is still preserved in the mud.
@@bbpurviswow. I hope you get a chance to try the machine. And you make a great point. I may have to check the soil for the leather. Thanks for watching 😊
@@gr8finds196 yeah I actually took the time to get to know the machine while out at my sister and BIL’s house. My mom was there in their in law’s house for her final years and I’d go there each weekend. They have lumber land there and I ended up finding the old logging railroad dummy tracks from the early 1900s out there. Didn’t really find anything super cool but the point really was to get to know the legend so I wouldn’t be a total rookie when I got on better land for relics. Anyhow, thanks for making the vids for us to enjoy your finds with ya! I look forward to seeing the vid if/when you get back out there to search the spot again. 👍
What an amazing day. Congrats
