This is an idea I have been looking at because like you I am not a big fan of velcro. I have a pair of old training gloves with a slightly elasticated wrist which I have got on with pretty well.
This is awesome. I just ordered Cleto Reyes safetecs and will be doing the elastic laces. Hopefully it works good cause all my other gloves are velcro.
Try tying the laces in the opposite way (so they start at the arm and end at wrist). If you cant get super long laces you can lace them by going CROSS-STRAIGHT-CROSS. This also works well with regular laces as they're easier to loosen.
I bought Lace N Loops, found it difficult to put on the second glove and get a tight fit. Sticking with Velcro for the time being because I hate asking people to lace me up. But this shows some promise, maybe in the future.
I still manage to get some good wrist support from using elastics on my lace ups. I wrap my hands before putting them in the glove and then I fine tune to the elasticity. If only my cat could tie my gloves for me haha.
i’m probably going to do this with my gloves thanks man. But how would you put them in because part of the lace that hangs out are together and not the ends of the laces
Really depends on how tight you put it. I usually use a medium tightness, tight enough to support a bit but still able to slip on and off when I use them
Great vid again. I am still waiting for my Fairtex BGL7s (made to order in ruby red, ahhhhh) to arrive from Thailand. Gonna put elastic laces to them. Thanks for the video, great work, keep them coming.
@@ThatBoxingGuy I ordered them in all red, 100% fury red! Jejjejeje. I have the BGV9s in yellow but these are going to be special. I'll keep you posted once they arrive.
My new all red BGL7s arrived yesterday from Bangkok. What can I say, they look awesome. Compared to my BGV9s (Velcro version) these feel more compact, but maybe is because they need some breaking in. Both are 14oz. Padding is two latex layers instead of three on the 9s, but not a huge difference in thickness. Definitely not a sparring glove if you want to keep going to the same gym :) Construction looks extremely nice, I'll put some elastic laces to get some independence. If it works I am never buying Velcro again.
@@ThatBoxingGuy i just got a pair of Boon lace ups after velcro for so long (Muay Thai). I spar often so im cutting the ends of now. Thanks for the video!
Great content! Keep doing videos, man! I will try this method out but I only got one question: Do you have struggle to get your hands in the gloves that way while you're wearing handwraps? I have that problem although I use the lace n loops and I need to get my gloves on/off very fast when I train in my gym. Greetings from Germany!
@@ThatBoxingGuy Sure is, looking at getting them because I like the look and I'm not a fan of their dual straps system. Just trying to find alternatives
In what world does the glove provide wrist support ????? having gloves tied up firmly is never going to save you from any kind of injury if you hit wrong....the glove is soft and bendable its never supporting enough to prevent a wrist injury IMO
The best boxing UA-cam channel
Hell yeah dude Im definitely going this route. I also appreciate the Canadian links
Miss the gym !
Bro your vids are so well made, well done

Did it go well
Dollarama has elastics in the arts and crafts / knitting section. 1/4 inch wide by 10 feet for $1.25
You convinced me! elastic laces are on my shopping list, great videos!

Hopefully that pattern makes more sense.

How? It’s so simple also don’t pull the laces on the left hand together one at a time works way better

That Boxing Guy you in Ajax? York region area here.
coach can you show how you tied the elastics to your rs1s clearer? hard to follow
TRUE WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT VALCO THE GLOVE WILL LAST LONGER THEN THE STRAP VALCO
i’m probably going to do this with my gloves thanks man. But how would you put them in because part of the lace that hangs out are together and not the ends of the laces
Do The elastic laces have better Of worst wrist support then velcro?
Worst
I will now stop buying lacenloop in favor of elastic laces for my bag gloves(I’ll stick to lacenloop for sparring)
Hey Coach! How easy it is to put on pre-laced gloves with those elastics? 🥊🇦🇺
Really depends on how tight you put it. I usually use a medium tightness, tight enough to support a bit but still able to slip on and off when I use them
Can you change the elastics with lace?
Yes 👍🏼
@@ThatBoxingGuy Okey thanks and another question what size laces do you use generally use on your gloves? 72 inches 79 inches or what?
i dont know when boxing gloves will become thumbless and laceless but ....That will get me 2 girl friends ❤😁
I have cleto reyes headgear. Velcro in the back but top is missing the laces. What laces do u recommend?
How long do The laces need to be?
Generally all laces should go top to bottom. But if you need them to wrap around the wrist go 50 inches or more
tnx for the link. got me some .
Where do you buy the laces? I cant find any elastic laces long enough
I have a link in the description to an Amazon link. Those are the ones I buy
@That Boxing Guy can u show how you were able to set tied the elastic to your rs1s? I was confused about how u did it
How long should the laces be?
50 inches if you want to wrap around the wrist
Can you help me out? Decha 3.0 velcro or infinitude harrier velcro? Thanks!
Hey man, what glove is the most suitable for elastic laces in your opinion?
rival has a velcro system that is more secure that laces
Yes, the V strap, it’s pretty good, my only issue is that the Velcro wears out. I’ve seen it mainly on the Evolution sparring gloves

Could you do a review on the adidas speedex 18 boxing boots? Also great vid keep it up

how about the plastic nibs at the end of the laces? Has anyone tried cutting them off, stitching them, maybe knots? any tips? thanks!

No, not really. Just good enough

Looking at getting 2 pairs of lace up gloves for solo training, also can't stand the velco, will this work for ONX X Factor gloves and Hayabusa T3
@@ThatBoxingGuy Have you tried the T3s with this technique?

I feel lace n loop wears out pretty easily... Maybe this can work better
Velcro sparring gloves make no sense. They can really scrap some skin . Plus the add more weight .
