This toy line is the epitome of “they don’t make them as they used to”. Holograms is the coolest thing back then....and kinda is even now.
Seriously Hasbro or some fan animation company needs to cast a revive spell upon this neglected gem of a series! MAY THE LIGHT SHINE FOREVER!!
well said like the motu series we need visionaires
One of the most slept-on underrated toy lines of all time. Thank you, sir, for posting this!
right up there with centurions.. "power extreme!"
They need to make this into a movie, classic series as a child
With Bumblebee being a success, it's likely.
#HasbroVerse
Working on it
I would so watch that. I still own all the Star Comic’s/Marvel Visionaries comics in mint condition.
Wow! I never realised I’d owned so many of the released Visionaries toys! I think i ended up with all but the big Darkling Lords vehicle and character! One of my happiest childhood memories is when I managed to snap the leg of my Mortdred figure and, because he came with a vehicle, I couldn’t buy him separately. So, my mum wrote to Hasbro and, instead of writing and asking for a replacement figure, she wrote them an epic story of how Mortdred had lost his leg in battle against the ‘acursed’ Spectral Knights and so, she, as representative of the Darkling Lords, was pleading with Merklin for help. A few weeks later a new Mortdred figure arrived in the post along with a letter saying they wouldn’t normally replace these figures free of charge but that the whole office had so loved the story of Mortdred’s fall, they felt obliged to ensure he could return to the melee! 😱🤣
Damn, cool story, bro! Your mom did a god-tier play, writing that story the way she did!
That's an awesome story and it sounds like you had an awesome mom!
Honestly, sincerely, thank you very much for making this video and putting so much effort into re-enacting the genius behind the concept of visionaries. This was the only cartoon that ever truly captured my imagination.
It aired in Zimbabwe from the early 90s up until about 2001. We only had one television station there and the network would just replay the same season over and over again. Somehow it never got old!
Thank you, Louise. Glad you enjoyed it. :D
I loved this series , its a shame that it didn’t catch on . I loved this thank you
This was great. I always loved Visionaries as a kid and had the whole set before losing them to time. I found an almost complete set in the wild yesterday loose with all their accessories (even their dossier cards) in great condition and came here to see what I'm missing.
on a whim i rewatched visionaries during quarantine, the strangest thing was that it still held up, much more so than most 80's cartoons.
Great cast and tbh anything with Chris Latta is going tobe awesome, even found my old toys the holograms are dust now though.
I always love the Visionaries. So sad this could be the best cartoon/ toy line next to G.I. Joe. I especially love the magical rhyming.
This is probably the best toy review video ever. I love all of your reviews, but this on is on another level. Great job!
Thank you so much for this amazing video micheal .visionaries was one f my favorite 80s toy lines and doesn't get the love it deserves. Thank you again you really do make lots of old men like me right back to beloved childhood memories.😀
I totally agree. Brilliant!
I liked the poem
Thanks so much for this video. This was favourite toy line growing up. Could never understand why it didn't do well...until now.
such a shame the cartoon did not really take off, i loved it as a kid. i still go back to watch it
I loved this when it was released in the UK - gutted it was so shortlived. Awesome concept :)
I had the whole set of these and still remember all the chants, wonderful, imaginative stuff! You make amazing videos, good sir!
Your review rocks! With lots of homework done!
So sad Visionaries had so short episode list. They deserve much longer and reboot!
This cartoon was great and I wouldn't mind a live action version now
Fantastic review! I'm enjoying your channel so much. I loved Visionaries in 1988 (kid shows and respective toy lines usually arrived in Chile one year later). Its super unfair they took the show out based on poor sales when they barely had 14 episodes.
so good!!! loved this video brother!!
"Raymond, for your deadly precision and scathing wit, your totem shall be the serpent!"
"A castle, a treasure, a maiden fair.
What lies before you is not truly there!"- Power of Illusion.
That is awesome! It fits in perfectly!
Each video is becoming more and more polished from a production standpoint-this coming from the fact that upon start the quality was already very high. Keep up the excellent work Michael !
Your videos really take me back in time. Every video is a nostalgic ride and i love it! I hope you know how special your channel is bro.
Amazing episode, thank you so much. Visionaries was the most influential cartoon of my childhood, I love it dearly and still know all the power poems/rhymes to this day. I can still remember the exact moment where it captivated me, the action sequence in the mountain pass, in the episode Power of the Wise.
May the light Shine Forever.
Fantastic episode! I was growing out of my toy playing days and entering my teens when Visionaries came out, but I do remember the catchy tune so really enjoyed watching this retrospective.
The production values of your videos continue to shine and this one was no exception. Great fx, whimsical story telling and a fitting background score. I felt like I was walking through Fantasyland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom!
What a great video, well done!
Editing and effects here looked amazing
Amazing review. Love the alliteration at the beginning 😄. Also, thanks for showing the card art so prominently. I'd forgotten exactly how GORGEOUS the packaging is for these toys.
Thanks! Yeah that artwork was breathtaking. Reminds me a lot of the classic MOTU box art. Spooky but beautiful.
Dude, you are living in your flow. Keep up the great work!!!!
Thanks Carson! Yo Joe! 😁
What a great review! Thank you for sharing your fantastic collection! I only got one of em. I have a new appreciation for him! I caught the tale end of the line when it was in stores.
I only just realised I had all of the good guys ;) except the larger vehicle.. :) damn we had some awesome toys in the 80's
excellent well put together review
Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light Was one of my favorite cartoons but I only had one of the toys Cindarr
Thank you for making this
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it.
Freaking awesome video michael! Great job!
Amazing series. I rewatch it loads. Appreciate your work with video.
🤝
Thank you Mr. Mercy, this just made my day , great video !
Thanks, glad to hear it. Nerdmasté! 🙏
Awesome vid. Constantly surprising us with a high level of video production. Keep doing the great work! Supporting u always!
Thanks Helmi! I appreciate it! 🙏
Excellent video!!!! Love your collection and the way you have presented all around Visionaries. Can't wait to see what you have to say about the unrelased season of Visionaries.
Thank you.
What you provide on this channel should be on network television I mean as a television series of course or documentary of sorts based on the 80s toy lines and such. you present with such class and style that is unmatched and it is always a pleasure to watch continue the great series
Wow. I remember having some of these. Could never remember where they were from.
Thanks for the trip back in time.
I remember getting these for Christmas. I absolutely loved them! Loved the TV show too
What a treat this video was, the editing was great as always, and it was once again both very informative and funny :D I already loved your work, but it just keeps getting better and better! Hoping for many more history on toy-lines I know nothing about. I did some online tests (but I think I already knew), my totem is the wolf :)
Amazing toyline and story that holds up even today
Awesome dude very well crafted props to you sir
I loved Visionaries cartoon, however, I was sad that it didn't last long. I still remember it and love it. Thank You very much for publishing this.
Glad you enjoyed it.
This is awesome so nostalgic for me I had all the toys , love the way you have done the video too the editing is on point
What an amazing video, the production value is insane and fantastic. Bravo sir, you have a new subscriber!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. Shine on! ✨
16:45 Canadian Money 😅. Hilarious. I remember using my allowance to buy Cindarr and Cryotek. I used to repeat the rhymes almost as a prayer. Pretty cool.
Man I use to get up at the crack of dawn to watch Visionaries. It was the first cartoon to come on Saturday mornings at 5 am. I have all 13 episodes on VHS. And had only one figure. But I loved it.
Great video! You keep raising the bar with the VFX, kudos.
Thanks, glad to hear it. :D
Thank you sir. A remenisence of back to the glory of 80's cartoon. Leoric looks like Max Ray in centurion. They have similar moustache like Freddy Mercury.
I miss the 80's and 90's , we had cartoons in every Channel. I remember waking up extra early before school, just to get a chance to watch cartoons at 6am .
Great review of Visionaries Michael 👏 love that toy line and cartoon, shame it was cut too short! Keep up the great work
What i like about your channel is that you really do your research. I remember these things, but not in detail and it's an entertaining way to be filled in. Also your editing skills are impressive.
This was my favourite when I was seven. Even bought the dvd in my twenties. Had loads of figures
Great video and history. Thanks
I did not have any passion for this line but your video made me embrace this line and now I appreciate Visionaries. Such a simple line, concept and yet hard to complete! You are every bit a magician as Merklynn! Thanks and Darn you for being so amazing!!! LOL
I've seen good reviews, but this is magical! Hats off!
I want to say i have seen many of these type of videos and you are the best! The way you talk about toys brings me right back to the 80s Saturday morning nostalgia!!
Edit: I watched this video over and over again 10 times. Still trying to finish collecting the Visionaries.
I have long hope to cosplay as a Spectral Knight. My totem would be a Rockhopper Penguin and my standard (stave) would have the power of Thundersnow.
Great video! Thanks!
Thanks for doing this I loved this cartoon when I was a kid.
I love this toy line and tv program!! Thank you
One of the most underrated toy lines ever. A reboot using the original toy molds should be launched.
Finally watched all the original episodes last week, so thought I'd re-watch your video. You put so much effort into this, very well done! And now all the clips you used were familiar to me. I haven't pulled the trigger on jump starting this collection of toys just yet, but it's on my short list at some point.
Thank you. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Happy hunting. They're some of the most spectacular figures of the 80s.
Amazing video again brother!
I did get to watch the cartoon on Sundays as a kid. I enjoyed it very much. I did end up buying 3 of the Darkling Lords figures when I saw them in the clearance aisle at K-mart. I need to find those for you. I haven't forgotten!
Thank you for the trip down memory lane again. Your videos get better with each one you do! I didn't think it was possible to top your previous work, but you consistently do it every week!
Thank you again for all you do Michael. Don't ever forget how appreciated you are. Nerdmasté my brother 🙏
Thanks Scott, glad you enjoyed it. I love Visionaries so much, I had to go out out for some of the prettiest looking toys of the 80s. Nerdmasté ! :D
Great video! Very creatively made! Lol
👍😁
Wow! Amazing I found this. I am a kid of the 80s. I too, could not afford it at the time. I had to settle with the cartoon. 😆
Great video. This bought back memories of hiring the Visionaries cartoon series on VHS from Blockbusters.
I loved Visionaries as a kid. I had four of the eight figures and two of the vehicle sets. Of all the toys I gave away back in the day, I miss them the most. I'm almost tempted to try and source some of them again, so my son can get the chance to play with them.
I used to love this as a kid and i didn't realize i actually had all of the main figures. Crazy to think i have such fond memories of the show and the toys and i was only 5 at the time.
Ahhh..yes. I had forgotten about these. My friend had some but I totally forgot about them. Thanks for the video
great video dude
Thanks! 🙏
the best toy review ever!!!! so love this!!!!
interesting,
great job man
The toy line was really cool, but the cartoon was AWESOME! I loved the story and the voice acting.
Me and my brother had all these figures 🤣this was like a trip down memory lane great video michael thanks mate liked and subbed 👍🏻
Good stuff man dig this I never got any of these unfortunately but I did like the concept
The hologram was amazing, and the sculpt really detailed
I thought of an autobot that turns into the skyclaw, Magix.
He even has his own spells.
Spell Commandment: "With the strength of Prismos, Cybertron and the will to defend. Let this spell be mine to command!"
Spark Separation: "Separate from one you were and always will be, release your Spark unto me!"
Reconstitution: "By the power of the magical light, Return once more unto the fight!"
Great review it’s for sure I’m gonna start collecting visionaries they’re so awesome
I loved these. Was gutted there wasn't more when I was young.
I loved visionaries as a kid and was lucky to have a fair few of the toys growing up :)
Thanks for the nostalgia
Loved these as a kid. Just showed them my son in 2021 lol keep on going 👍👍
Tu vídeo es simplemente asombroso !!! Mike, you resume vídeo Is simply amazing, congratulation, thank you! Los visionarios fueron mis favoritos en el corto tiempo que los mostraron en TV aca en Chile !!!
Sorry for my english, jajajaja...a huge from Chile!!
You consistently do an incredible job with these, man. I was just about aging out of toys by the time Visionaries were released and was spending my money on basketball sneakers at the time but I was one of the dozen folks who read the comic.
Thanks Clave! Never had any of them either back then. I've got the complete run of comics and I'm looking forward to getting some time to sit down and read them. These short-run 80s comics based on toy lines are usually pretty good.
@@MichaelMercy 100% I’m getting rid of the majority of my comics but my IP comics are staying in the collection - MASK, MotU, Visionaries, Shogun, etc. That includes, of course, my run of Larry Legend GI Joe.
In the late 90's, I played in a Visionary RPG. My custom character was a Spectral Knight that had a white tiger totem and a staff with the power of invisibility.
visionaries, jayce and the wheeled warriors, centurions, and battle beasts were some of the best shows and toylines ever made. they deserved more success than what they received.
thumbs up for launching wheelie
Great video! Visionaries were my second favorite toy line growing up. Obviously Transformers is my all time favorite, From the very first episode of the Transformers I was a Hasbro toys fan! I tried collecting them all. Transformers, GI Joe, Visionaries, C.O.P.S, Air Raiders, Battle Beasts, and Inhumanoids.
I have since sold most of the toys after lettmy kids play with them but I so have some Transformers and still have my collection of Air Raiders.
Awesome review!
Wondefull episode, to revive our glory days with toys and childhood memories, Hails from Chile
Great Michael!
Thanks!
I had one of these action figures, and I remember how impressive the holograms were. They were really well made. The images really "popped". They were some of the best quality holograms I've ever seen.
Agreed. It's the shelf that really jumps out when I enter the room.
This was hella good!
Glad I'm not the only one who loved these
Good video!
I had all the main knights. I got them all one Christmas. I loved the cartoon also. There were some many cartoons back then I didn't notice when it was canceled.
Man...the nostalgia is amazing. I had the first issue of the comic; wish I had kept it.
