This has be one of my favorite episodes that you have ever produced.
I thought it was gonna be shit and giggles and not a deep, honest conversation.
Not only both of you were really brave to be hypnotized by Evan but we all learned SO much. O had no idea that hypnotism was gonna be like that.
Also kudos to Evan. I honestly thought that he was just gonna be full of shit but damn, he is way smarter/wise/compassionate than he looks like. In fact it made me felt terrible that I judged him even before had a chance

The dog climbing in his lap shows he’s got an amazing energy. I went to a hypnotist and i was really depressed, i told myself (if this did not work i didn’t want to live anymore) it was a dark time for me but i went to hypnosis and i cried because i was so happy and free, it felt like how i was supposed to feel before anyone had ever hurt me.

If it's for anything other than entertaining people at parties, please go to other places for information from different perspectives as well. He says a lot of things with confidence that are just plain incorrect, and the trick with the hand getting longer is literally a trick (I left a longer comment to this video explaining that and briefly some of the points).

I was hypnotized twice before at college events and it's such a wild feeling. I knew hypnotism could be used therapeutically but I never imagined it like this. Now I kinda want to look into this and fix myself!

Found you all recently and I’ve related so much to Darby’s religious trauma and experiences with parents while bingeing the content. Did not expect her to have the same anxiety =anger I do too. I say I’m like the Hulk-my secret is I’m always angry. I’ve never heard anyone else explain it before.

Super interesting video. Didn;t super appreciate the anti-medication portion, especially since he seems to be slightly misinformed about what the the medications are and what they do. But still, this was an interesting primer in what hypnotherapy is.
Hi, Thomas! Darby here! We are definitely not anti-medication here! My meds are keeping me fully MARRIED atm, but I apologize if that was unclear. Thanks for the comment, love!
Hey Thomas. Hypnotist Evan here. Certainly not anti-medication. As I mentioned in the video, I myself have used anti-anxiety and anti-depressant medications at multiple points in my life; most recently when I was in court. And while I may have been oversimplifying how they work for time’s sake, I still believe having strong mental health fitness training alongside medication leads to desired mental health outcomes more often than using medication alone.
@@EvanGambardella Thanks for the reply. I understand that it was intentional and part of it was me misinterpreting what you were saying. I'm just pretty sensitive to anti-medication propaganda since I do biomedical research in depression. I just wouldn't want others to misinterpret what you were saying like I did and think that hypnotherapy should be used instead of medication.

Hey friend! Unfortunately no-generally speaking I would not recommend anyone with aphantasia try hypnosis due to a slim chance of success. But there’s plenty of other tools you can use to exercise and strengthen your mental health.
