At the beginning of the vid you say you could talk for hours about Jimi, well i could listen for hours. you sir are engaging and informative and really know your stuff..I love Jimi as well and could talk about his mastery of the guitar all week long...Peace
'We had no road manager, just the three of us plus Chas. I remember getting on the plane in London and seeing these brand new Marshall cabinets being literally thrown into the hold. There were no flight cases, they were just wrapped in the original corrugated sheeting. We were thinking 'Oh no, what are we going to find at the other?' We hadn't got any spares and you're hardly going to pick up any of those bits and pieces in Paris or anywhere in France.' The Hendrix Experience, Mitch Mitchell& John Platt, @p.21
Fantastic video~~~~just sheer enjoyment to watch U play~~~~I wish more people got notice your video~~~keep it up man. Ur channel will one day grow up massively because U really deserve it.
out of all the videos where "how to sound like jimi" this is the best or the closest thing ive come to so far that really sound like jimi himself, good vibes man
Once again you nailed it Dave. Your encyclopaedic knowledge of Jimi's equipment and of the great man himself will never be boring. Thank you once again for a great video. Top man. 👍🏻
Wow, Dave some fantastic playing buddy and dialed in sound- like blow me away good! I have an CR100 and wish I could play as well as you! Thanks for showing the control settings! Rock on my friend - love all your videos and demos I've seen! Cheers!
Just hoping that you are finding recognition , success and most of all satisfaction and fulfillment . Thank you for a very entertaining video Dave . Happy new year feller ! .
Dave, I've followed you from the early old hat days and love your videos but I don't think I've ever seen you more enthusiastic about a subject. Excellent as always, thank you so much for sharing and keep em coming 👍🏻
Loved it Dave, you absolutely nailed it down tight as man, you rock. Would be good to hear these done again but with the Oswald guitars that you have, probably the John Strat. Thank you for being so amazing, you are truly a treasure man, well done.
Mate, very impressive! The range of styles, the tones, and the one amp used in this series you've uploaded not to mention the incredible technique. Flabbergasted!
Dammnnn!!...Jimi would be soohhh proud!...ive watched this four times in a row...just Magic! 👏🏻🌟🎸...P.S. if Orange don't give you an endorsement soon i will bang their doors down for you!! 😄
You can really hear and feel that you spent a lot of time in learning how to sound and play like Hendrix. Same goes with every other you covered. Amazing job.
Great performance man,on the topic of amps I recently got a new fender bassbreaker 007 combo and i love it too pieces but the more I watch your videos the more I I think about owning a CR120,great video as always.
I love how you show us all the settings..Alot of guitar channels just play and hide the settings like they are guarding their 18 year old daughter... I have that cr120 hooked to my 2 12 closed back orange cab with celestion vintage 30s.. I use it just as much as my tube heads if not more...At 400 usa what a steal I got 6 months ago.. Your channel is awesome and I had a lot of catching up to do as it had been a few months since I have been back...thanks man...
Loved this one Dave. Your love of Jimi and his music really shines through. It seems that the latest thing in internet land is to suggest that he wasn't any good, which is utterly baffling to me. The man changed the times and made millions of people think again about what was possible on the electric guitar. Add to this his wonderfully creative song writing and that beautifully rythmic singing and you have the complete package. A unique, trail blazing artist that kicked down the door and changed everything. In many ways, guitarists are still hanging on to his coat tails even today.
yes, and I agree with those who commented on your keen ability to get tones just on amp manipulation alone - tube or other wise. My goal is similar. I have 1 reverb pedal for amps without any and a volume pedal to deal with a tube amp while living in an apartment. I like your logic on solid state. Very helpful and makes sense.
Dave, I saw Hendrix in a small club in '67 when he was touring the US after the first album. You did a good job of covering his style. The show I went to was very loud -- he had 4 Marshall double stacks behind him and 4 behind the bass. He could get a lot of his superb playing from that volume by just touching a string. There are not many people who can do Hendrix well -- I think you've shown here that you can. Nice work!
Does Dave ever say which cab the sounds are going through on this (fantastic) series of videos? I imagine this shapes the EQ as well. Love the playing.
I agree with everything max van westerop said!!! And please keep the vids coming!! Btw your whammy frenzy was AWESOME!!!! I don't know if your a fan of johnny thunders, but I do know your are very good at being able to recreate what you hear, so can you do a johnny thunders tone video?? PLEASE!! Ive been looking for help since I started 3 years ago and I get little bits and pieces but I think you're the guy who can help me the most hahah. Johnny thunders when he was in the New York Dolls, AND Johnny thunders when he was with his heartbreakers band. He had this style that is soo unique and cool!! Like he can bend notes but they sound so full and complex but simple at the same time
Hi Dave, Thanks for doing these videos they are really useful - I also have a CR120! Could you also do Jerry Cantrell, Vivian Campbell, Tom Scholz and Frank Hannon - or maybe just one of those. Thanks so much.
I just found one at gc for a great price and remembered your video on this amp so I got it. You can actually play this thing at bedroom volume sure it sounds better cranked but you can go from bedroom to stage with this one. Is it the greatest sounding amp no but it is really good.
Maybe it's not your kind of music Dave, but it would be great to see a Steve Cropper video in this very enjoyable series of yours. I love the Stax sound. Keep making the videos mate.
Good sir, I am having my mind absolutely blown by your tone, your knowledge and your playing. Keep it up, you have absolutely nailed it.
+Max Van Westerop Thank you very much for your kind words. :)
I had my CR120 now for almost a year and I’m still getting to know what it’s capable of sounding like. Your vids help a lot. Thanks man!
You made me cry with Jimi's stuff. Instane tone and insane playing. We are all grateful for what you do.
great rendition of 51st Anniversary an underrated gem.

+Bryan Rutland Thank you very much. :)
Thank you man! Those straps you have, are the US, or Mexican. If they're Mexican do you do any modifications?
I love how you show us all the settings..Alot of guitar channels just play and hide the settings like they are guarding their 18 year old daughter... 10/10 better than sweetwater sound
Thank you very very much. :)
I disagree. I think the pedals are quite necessary.
what do you mean
Ethan Cowley Jimi was a pedal beast, no pedals makes it almost impossible to replicate more than just his cleans.
Dave is better than any other guitar teaching channel!!!
Wow, very nice playing!
Thank you very much. : )
Your playing is fantastic damn!!
Thank you very much. : )
Some of the most soulful playing i've heard, and its through a solid state

+Nigel Cassidy I totally agree. No one will ever come close to Jimi. Thank you so much for watching. :)
Well said :) there's before Jimi and after Jimi, all the critics are coming from "after Jimi" and therefore their comments are almost meaningless
Great video!!! crazy ending!
+All Genre Guitar Covers Thank you for watching. :)

Maybe it's not your kind of music Dave, but it would be great to see a Steve Cropper video in this very enjoyable series of yours. I love the Stax sound. Keep making the videos mate.
