The thing to be aware of with these is that as the burner heats up and you are well into your cooking - if there is a bit of wind - there is a tendency for it to develop some fairly dramatic bursts of flame in the wind direction, plus it seems to generate an environment inside the triangle where the heat and even the fire can blow under the burner and light anything combustible on the surface where you put it - or heat the triangle itself to where it will leave burnt marks on wood.
WHen it superheats like that, the spirits begin to actually boil and I am guessing maybe evaporation is what creates the bigger jets of flame. I am not entirely sure yet, but it seems to mainly happen when the burner is down to about halfway full - but it could be time and heating and not volume that makes the difference.
Anyway - I’ve been using it as a second burner with my main trangia for about a month and I’ve seen it do the flame thing happen almost every time there was a bit of wind. I did not use a wind shield with it (that was on my main) but frankly I have a feeling that thats not enough.
I have adapted the little adjustible lid on the burner, bending the metal lip upwards so it will fit onto the burner inside triangle. YOu cant turn it much but you can make a few fixed settings and dump it on. That does NOT stop the flame thing from happening (I have an untested hypothesis that it may even be contributing, but we’ll see about that. Anyway - the point I wanna make is that even if you close it completely and dump it on the burner - when it’s that hot, it still tends to keep burning around the edges and throught the small hole and you have to blow QUITE vigorously to put it out. It just superheats. Mine would scorch the ground even in green grass on a rainy day when this phenomenon occurred.
    So my advice is:
    - Never put it on or near anything even vaguely combustible. I recommend a safety radius of at least about 30-50 cm - yes thats how far the flame and heat can travel on the gusts!
    - If you are using it in windy conditions or the wind picks up - keep an eye on it at all times and do not sit too close to it while cooking.
    - Do not use it inside an apsis or under a low tarp or near your gear or any plants or bushes or any of your food storage bags or your fuel bottle or lighters etc.
    - Have enough water ready in a container within reach that you can put out a fast spreading accidental fire if anything catches.
    - If you have to put out out a beginning fire, make sure not to bump the unit, the metal ring holding the burner (at least on the old version) is not overly well secured so a startled reaction can easily spread the fuel on the ground.
It’s a good little unit for its size and weight but you really need to mind it the same way you’d do an open fire. Perhaps more because of the fuel.

The simple solution is to get a silicone cooking mat or fire proof mat that you can roll out if your concerned or in a place it’s needed. They are paper thin, weigh next to nothing and reduces fire risk.

@@AdamKilpatrick That’ll take care of the ground issue sure. Personally I just clear a space or use the right terrain. You could argue that having to add extra equipment defeats the purpose of bringing a minimalistic unit, depending on your setup. I just feel like it’s something for people to be aware of depending on the extent of their outdoor experience.

      燃烧器的设计 的确会在全火力状态下形成上下气流,类似烟囱效应,有助于提升火力和功率!我也发现了类似的情况!

A useful and new extra item to the mess tin - multi disc made for mess tin as strainer and cutting board.

Well done for demonstrating the gas burner. Often left out of reviews of the 2022 version 👍

    感觉这款比另一款28型 mini附带的燃烧器在防火性能上有更好的表现。我自己制作了一个 类似的架子 以解决防风问题!不过很遗憾,我还没做成视频,分享出来!

You ought to buy a few and sell them to the have nots here in the USA! Can't wait for them to be available here. I have the gas stove and the alcohol burner but cannot get the triangle! Know any stores that will ship to us Yanks? Life's tough here.

I looked into that but to make it worthwhile I’d have to become a dealer or ask to much money. I see that there are currently a few available on eBay

@@AdamKilpatrick Trangia quotes a price in US dollars and then says I can't buy it from them. How rude! I like the look of the new model that you showed. I doubt that anyone on eBay has the new ones yet but I'll look.

@@AdamKilpatrick If you look at the internal holder for the alcohol & gas burners on the eBay link, it is not the new one as is shown in your video. I might be splitting hairs but ......... I want the latest and the greatest. Also, I can't imagine what the freight would be from Australia. I will try to buy one from the Canadian Outdoor Equipment. I am on their waitlist. Let's see if I get notified.
