How to get into state according to Todd:
1.) Dance, do push ups. Get into your body somehow.
    2.) Yell
3.) Do something scary/out of your comfort zone
4.) Wink/smile/smerk for 1 min in the mirror.
One that Todd didn't mention that personally works for me is talking to literally EVERYONE. Old ladies, homeless people, men, workers, girls, groups. And makes me not give af anymore. This works for people who used to have social anxiety.

also get out of your mind, do it for practicing (leveling up), to have fun, to meet new people, etc. not to just expect ONE outcome cuz it ll increase the chances of messing up.

The golden advice here is to focus on what you do next in the situation, not yourself, not her. Focusing on what to do with what's happening. I always thought of State as a having focus to the point of not having an inner monolog. I like to use the analogy of a fight. The fighter who's thinking about how he feels or how his opponent is feeling is distracted. He won't react to his opponent as quickly as the fighter whose mind is clear of these mental processes. Of course skill still plays the biggest role. Bruce Lee could recite poetry while fighting me at my best and I still would never stand a chance.

    3. Smile, smirk, wink and move

Someone said Todd is the Einstein of Game. Having consumed so much material for years, and having always being reluctant to most of the rsd flashy BS, I am glad I decided to give Todd a chance. He is probably the wisest person I have seen teaching game. I am back in the game after a relationship, and I am loving it more than ever. Best attitude towards game: "Focus on playing the game the right way, not on results" I am actually waiting for a drop in price of his program and will buy it right away. Thanks Todd, you are trully a legend.

So basically, being in state is involuntary; it's very ineffective to try and control it. Being in state is when you're not self concious and out of your head. If you focus on getting in state you're goanna be in your head trying to appear natural which makes you more self concious, more awkward and less in state. What you wanna achieve is not having to rely on being in state, you do this by improving your game in general. Focus on how you play and that you play to the best of your ability not your results. Focus fully in the interaction, the process, how to game in each step as YOU have been taught. And involuntarily you will get in state because you are out of your head, in thess interactions that you do you will also learn and develop which improves your game in general. That said if you fail ask yourself, did I play well, if yes be proud and don't hinder, if no keep practicing. Some exercises he pointed out were looking in the mirror for 1 min smiling, smurking and winking or dancing or doing a scary approach or shouting. Do the right steps so you get in state or succeed without getting in state because you're doing the right things anyway.

Yup a lot of guys expend too much time, energy, and resources trying to chase that magical state instead of trying to get better at the SKILLSET.
      - Trying to force yourself into state takes a lot of emotional energy and is inauthentic. You are trying to make yourself feel something you don’t actually feel.
      - Once you start to improve your state you become outcome dependent on keeping that little glimmer alive. More emotional energy expended.
      - You can frame yourself over the long term into a negative thought pattern of “I’m only successful when I’m in state” or in the short term of “I won’t approach this girl because I haven’t hit state yet”
      - Girls can sense the inauthenticity if you’re trying to state leech from them, as with your wings. You can end up in destructive state wars with your wings until one or both of you crash (noobs should especially watch for this “value tap” behavior from more experienced players)
      - Game becomes much harder work than it ought to be. You are giving yourself an internal opponent to fight. It’s a fight that doesn’t need to happen.
Peak state is good. When you hit it, embrace it. But don’t try to manufacture it.

Todd , I literally can't believe in it ! I almost have tears on my face . for 3 years I was learning rsd stuff talking about feeling good as the key point ( it resonated with me so much because I have a psychology degree )and I had decent results but most of the time I sucked because was worrying about how i feel right now and what is going on in my internal world.
I am saying a big THANK YOU after watching only the first 5 mins. it explained me lots of things.
p.s. I am one of the members of the system .

Same here, with rsd I didn't really learn anything they just talk about feeling good wtf? Todd actually breaks it down for you step by step and you are able to implement it in your strategy. I am so glad I got the system, Todd will be the only one I take advice from in regards to game because he is so good at explaining it simply and you are able to use it. Already unsubscribed from rsd, they suck. Thanks Todd!!! you bring so much value to us and we are all very grateful!!

Late to reply to this but, another way to control involuntary body responses is to think about an activity with emotional spikes. Eg: fighting, sex, scary encounters, sad memories. Each will affect physiology in its own way by spiking adrenaline, sending blood, or speeding up the heart rate. If you can remember the most confident youve ever been b4 approaching or opening, this might be a way to achieve state. But do it because you wanna remeber being confident and not trying to "get in state" or achieving a desired out come but rather just being confident, then your brain will provide answers that are confident even if you blow out, youll respond with a positive answer (if close isnt an option, make the goal to leave her with a smile) and move on to the next while leaving the last one 2nd guessing herself and possibly leaving her open to reapporaching you, long as she sees others are receptive to your next approach...

Skill will always win against being in state. That’s why you always focus on making the best move regardless of whether it’s comfortable to do or not. The Best move is not the correct move, the Best move is the move you make using all the knowledge and wisdom that you’ve acquired that you possess. Which means if you fail, you realize you’re missing something and you go on to find out what that is, discover, and learn something new. Which means you go on and make the discovered better move the next time, which is the Best move
What the girl is experiencing should always be your first observation.
Grow some balls and do the scary thing because you never know, it might just go well.
Focus on the process and the next best move, because enjoyment comes not from winning in itself, or losing, but from knowing you made all the Best moves as you know them to be.
And take it all step by step and play the game well, the right way/ the Best way.

Maybe the best most nuanced case for Technical Game I've ever seen. Much needed in this modern era of PUA where pretty much every Pickup company is teaching guys to "chase state".
Sadly you can fill a lot more bootcamps if you can state-boost a newbie and get him spam approaching and taking a girl home that weekend. The problem with this "state chasing" method is, while it’s great that that guy gets some experience pulling which could be the first time he’s ever had sex, it doesn't teach him very much long-term and generally those guys end up just using the spam approach and Next method.
Which to me isn’t really “game”, it’s just spamming for receptive girls. It’s why they get a lot more flakes and bang a lot more girls they aren’t into and they get wildly inconsistent results.

To put it another way, "state" is like runner's high. It's not something you control, it's just something that happens when you're "in the zone". Being "in the zone" or "in state" is a great feeling, but trying to force yourself into it is like telling yourself, "I can't start running until I have runner's high". It's a completely backwards approach, and it makes you look at being in state as an objective, when in reality it's just a side effect. Just like how runner's high is a side effect of running, not the objective of it.

Key to state is honesty, honesty with yourself another words being real, authentic and second is clear all thoughs about outcome. Step1. having fun (congruent) step 2. Believing that time with girl will do the most of attraction and comfort etc.( Time investment from girl) Step 3 move it forward ( logistics) and plaing to win.

The point of this video was that getting in flow should not be a necessity, I agree with this very much, as focusing on "flow" will actually make you lose focus. He stated the proper next steps are what's important, I see it as the understanding of the fundamentals in communication or in this case the fundamentals as well as the behavior to arouse a woman. Pretty good video though.

It obviously must vary based on circumstance and venue…. But it would be interesting to hear thoughts on… I have 2 programs of your programs, VGA and ODA and they’re great, though this particular issue I haven’t heard anything about in them that I can recall

@@avisco01 Honestly dude, it's the most comprehensive breakdown of pickup i can ever hope for. It keeps you checked in on where you are in the interaction at all times simply because of the steps. It truly is a "system". It makes sense and its simply a breakdown of what good interactions are. And best of all, Todd and JP use these steps at all times, and you can see them use the system FLAWLESSLY. And it's simply Todd's game.
      It's given me consistency.
I genuinely recommend watching it, implementing it, going back to it, implementing it, and so on.

  • @nickp3949

I’m not sure if this is being in state or if it’s something else but let me explain what I go through
Some days I feel this insane amount of energy in my stomach, it’s almost like a very intense surge of confidence, it’s so intense that it feels like I can do anything. And…I pretty much can, at least socially. Zero brain fog, zero resistance, zero anxiety. Every single person, every single encounter I have becomes literally the least scary thing in the world. I’m witty, I’m funny, shit tests do nothing to me…I’m give of off so much confidence that I can fail the shit test and still pass it because of how I’m coming off. I can say almost anything and still control the frame of the entire conversation. No comment can catch me off guard, no joke can knock me down. It feels like god tapped me on the shoulder and said “you can have some of my power today”.
It’s one of the best feelings in the world. It’s like getting high and euphoric off being yourself and letting your confident personality come through. You wanna talk to everybody so they can see how awesome you are. The problem is, I can’t control when this comes and goes. On a day where I don’t have this, I’m timid, anxious and fearful. Literally to the point where I have trouble even greeting people and holding a small conversation. I become a pushover and a people pleaser. And I get this terrible stutter that I can’t control. I also never know what to say, the brain fog is unreal. Socially, I’m basically broken. Never mind holding any sort of a frame, I can’t even respond to anything, even basic questions, without stuttering or getting some sort of brain freeze. Every person, every interaction seems scary and oppressive.
I’m trying to figure out what causes this. It’s not bipolar disorder (because it changes from day to day and I don’t ever get depressed or anything), it’s more like a bipolar sense of confidence. A bipolar sense of being comfortable in my own skin. Either everything is feeling right and perfectly aligned, or nothing is.
I can’t live my life like this. Imagine I meet a girl on a good day and then I go out with her on a bad day. It’s like playing roulette every time I wake up.
I have a theory that this has to do with being present and outside my head, because it almost feels like I’m in front of myself, like I have so much confident energy that it’s pushing me forward outside my own body (not literally, I’m not dissociative). That’s the best way I can describe the feeling. Like I’m completely centered in every way and I’m ready to do anything. It’s not an arrogant feeling either, it’s very comfortable, like my frame of mind and body is exactly where it needs to be. But yeah I don’t know. I can’t figure it out.

    A look into Todd's mind.
    Meditation One.
What is state and its effects?
    Claim:
Play the game to the best of your ability. Be happy because you played it to the best of your abilities. Whether you "win" or "lose" doesn't matter, but what does matter is if you executed the actions that you knew to be best in that moment of time for the game.

To break it down a different way, imagine a little kid that's in a bad mood (state) and he wants to break his mom's flower vase. But he doesn't and says I love you and she cooks his favorite dinner. His knowledge (skill) got him what he wanted. It doesn't matter how you feel but what you know. Being in state is more of a plus than a requirement. But at the same time your state can be good enough certain times. But the more you learn the more you'll be naturally in state or not which he explained.

A great video. one of todd's best. My question would be, when I'm "out of state" it's so out of state that it's almost a level of panic, there's no way I can often speak to people let alone go through the game process because everything inside me is so skewed and my mind is buzzing and I'm in desperate adrenaline based fight or flight.
I'm really looking for a way to alleviate these debilitating mental shackles so I can function at any sort of calm level.

Success puts you in state. State is not the reason you were successful.
Here's the psychological problem. That night you went out and hooked up with a hottie, it felt so good. It put you in state. The feeling of accomplishment was so good and so strong that it created what's called a "point of reference." And you associated that feeling with that night, to the point you falsely believed the reason you succeeded was because of "state." Man, I was so on that night, I was so happy and energized blah blah blah. No you weren't. If you remembered, before you met that hottie you were pretty normal. The success put you into that euphoria. What actually got you the hottie was saying the right things in a way that was confident, indifferent, etc. But now you believe "in order to have a night like that, I have to pump myself up to that state of elation and fun." No. That feeling comes with success. What got you success was being chill, normal, displaying interest with being needy etc.

One day at my workplace one girl, she had a boyfriend and she kept talking to me, asked for my number, messaged me on whatsapp and she was so boring that i didn't invest in her, always left her on read etc.. She kept asking for attention and i didn't gave a shit, she stopped talking to me, began to be a bit childish in our workplace.. at some point i was talking with another girl from my work too, and she walks in and says "you are so stupid" and i didn't even look at her, i just stopped talking for like 5 seconds to think what the second girl was saying and i didn't even gave a shit neither a reaction, just continued my conversation with the other one that i was talking before .. it's all about mindset, if you guys master it.. gosh...

Question (Maybe for future posts): How do you get to know the girl in a High-Value way (Asking questions) without seeming that you are too bought in? In between the O.P.E.N - CLOSE

thanks to you comparing game to soccer that is all I can think of now haha, kind of like when you said to get in state you try to do game the best way you can do, not to pull which is kind of contradicting. But if you think about it like soccer, your goal should be to play to your best of your ability and not to score every single time to take a shot. You may not score every single game, but you play to enjoy yourself, to play your best, to learn something new, to pass an obstacle. Even though the overall objective of the game is to score more goals than the opposing team, that's really just in the back of your mind when playing. A player who only has fun when they score, who is only a good player after they have scored, who only enjoys scoring goals, is not going to have a lot of fun very often and is not going to be very effective.

The purpose of game is to create a situation for yourself to where you can turn on or off; a concerted series of actions to help you achieve your desired outcome. Furthermore, the actions that you execute should convey the emotions you intended to convey, irregardless of how you actually feel in that moment.
Game is an art; you're putting on a performance, essentially. This is where cold approach with people in general comes in handy. Once you have a varied number of interactions to reference; you can quickly adjust your performance based on the cues you've learned from observing the responses you get from people.
For example, I'm in sales. Some days, I'm so burnt out that I feel like crap. But because I can reference the way I am when I'm 'on,' I can simply mimic myself and get the same results even though I'm feeling crappy. But it requires effort and energy. So it's not that you feel off that you're doing bad. It's that you're off and you don't have the emotional stamina in that moment to push through, even though you know how you should respond.
Sometimes, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. If you know you don't have the emotional stamina to do game, don't force it. But if you're not feeling it and you feel it's worth putting fourth the energy to execute the way you know how, do it. It really comes down to knowing when to turn it on and whether you're up to it. but YOU have the power.

    2 questions:
    - I can't play game like poker (methodically) and have the emotions with a girl that allow me to enjoy it at the same time. Can you tell me how you reconcile these things? Because technical game right now feels like programming to me: I do it when I need to but I find it all but fun.
    - What's the music from?
Thanks for the video, it's solid.
