🤗🤗Hi David, just breathtakingly beautiful🌷. Love the huge mossy trees with the orchids, the flora and ferns. Are there animals in the area too? 🥰 seahorses. Thanks for a great video. Take care. 🌸
Thanks Sue 😊🙏. Yes there are animals in the reserve. We saw Baboons but there are also monkeys, Bushbuck and other small animals. Apparently even elephants and leopards are known to roam the area (droppings and paw prints) but rarely seem.
Hey! Thanks Dave. I always miss the flowering season on them. I couldn't manage to distinguish between the foliar types, so have a bunch of photo's with no id. Would love to know how you go about distinguishing between the species. I know next to nothing on the leaf structure.
Hey Bubbles, I get you on the flowering season 😅. I also struggle with the foliage but I use iNaturalist to narrow the types down to the specific area and then use the Orchids of South Africa book to try and distinguish between the possible species in the area. Sometimes I cannot distinguish between them though but at least then I’ve narrowed it down to two or three species. I’m still learning so much about our epic flora!
Thank you so much !!!💚
