I met Ashley in Sayreville when they played starland ballroom and had to cancel due to Andy being sick. The band knew they were canceling but did not tell anyone. But Ashley had come off the bus and met with fans and took photos he did not come off the way people make him out to be he was super nice and even waited so my friend could grab her camera from the car.
I went on the tour when veil came out cuz I was scared I might never see them again. I had no idea it had got like that serious tho. If the phantom tomorrow never came out I dunno if I would even be here! It came out when my depression had hit a low I didnt even know existed and that album got me through it somehow.
He’s one of those people that are so sweet and genuine with what they do… that some people are just waiting for anything to criticise about him but it always falls flat 😂
I wasn't a big fan of the Vale album. I've seen a few things Ashley posted over the years when I was still regularly following and listening to this band, and he always seemed pretty weird to me. As soon as I heard the songs released when Lonny came into the band after Ashley left (The Night EP), I knew that Ashley being gone was a big reason why the music started getting better again, and the most recent album is much better than Vale was. The newest song they released (Bleeders) is a pretty great first song for the next album, so I'm looking forward to it. I'm glad they axed Ashley and continued going, cause the current lineup is easily their best.
OMG NO WAY!! i’m cackling at the thumbnail because it’s my pfp on instagram😭 i can’t believe this popped up in my recommended what are the odds💀anyways chefs kiss video
Yeah, definitely. I mean, personally, I sort of had to force myself into liking him since he was in the band, but I always had an off feeling about him
I was a victim of Ashley when i was 16 and 17. I had it a lot better than some other people who had terrible experiences with him. He attempted to meet up with me, which i declined. I feel like more people need to hold that man accountable. I respect Andy so much for being able to move on from Ashley's manipulation and pushing the band forward to a whole new level
Now that I’m older and I understand more why this vale album 💿 was sad and not just there .. like the whole band it’s self was just not there cus of … Ashley like … it wasn’t the same but now I know what I know now um.. I’m beyond happy that bvb is still together still a band and thank god for Lonny like he brought back the good energy and the good vibes for Andy and bvb in general so happy that the band is doing better than ever and I just seen them live and met them on May 4th greenbay WI 2024
I think i mightve missed it being about Ashley besides the beginning because it sounded like Andy was talking about his personal problems trying to mentally deal with the entire band life
Love the old stuff and still listen to it now , takes me bk to teenage days where we were freaks n outcasts and made our own clothes and improvised certain clothes .. those were the days drinking and parties n heartbreak and emotional wrecks but id love to see them still bc they grew up as well with us and his music is beautifully dark and amazing ❤❤❤❤❤
I mean yeah he obviously mentions him at the beggining, but i'm sure the almost break up part of the band wasn't entirely because of him, he talks about his own personal problems, and the lack of love there was between the band in those times, great vid tho
Ashley manipulated an 18yr old kid (Andy) and turned him into an alcoholic Wild Child, Ash lied about everything He was supposed to be 2-3 yrs older than Andy but he lied about that too, he was 25 when Andy was 19! Plus there are many Accusations against Ashley from young fan girls between the ages of 17-19
@@debbyshannon7242 yup, if you listen to Throw The First Stone, it’s not a clear “diss” song towards Ash, cause of legal stuff, but it’s not that hard to put two and two together.
It hurt that we knew it was the end, it was blindingly obvious, yet bvb kept denying it. Happy they've moved on with lonny. AP is over due to his addictions n toxicity IMHO.
@@xx_andysixx_xx I think honestly is easier as deceit always trips people up later on. A lot of us were sad that the obvious was happening and bvb never apologised. So many no longer buy merch etc. But I'm glad toxicity has gone as Andy was taken advantage of by AP who admitted he wanted to steal the band at first. Instead he took 50% and did little when he got bored n focused on his demons instead. Allegedly. Maybe they can't admit anything more due to NDA n settlement. But I think the band is at an end if they don't do more than attack religion given the Scientology link to family. I feel it's for the money now sadly. But I've spoken with Lonny and Jake using my real name n I'm hoping things get better for all involved. They say they have plans and a renewed energy. And I love Juliet's voice, so gutted trinity tour didn't happen in UK. I hope they have a better future whatever they do now the toxicity has gone.
Y’know, I used to shit on this guy A LOT when we were younger and still figuring this life shit out. I’m glad to see how far and mature he’s become and that he stands by his work regardless. 🤘🏼
I always wondered about the fact that we go through changes. But it comes back around. The band in my mind was like a power house like kiss in my era ! Seen them live thanks to my daughter they helped us bond and get through some dark times for both. I have work related c-ptsd 👨🏻🚒🚑 but my daughter was bullied and made fun of for many reasons ! Bvb can & will be an icon. All great musicians !! 🤘🏼
I got the VIP for the resurrection tour with Asking Alexandria. I have met most people in the scene. However, Ashley was by far the rudest person I have met. I tried to talk to him and he just gave me a head nod and give me this vibe like “hey don’t talk to me” but the rest of the guys were great
I've heard a fair few musicians from the Americas can be like that. Apparently Jared Leto is an arrogant fuck too. Thinking they're too good to mix with their fans, even though they wouldn't exist without their fans. Its also possible he was just having a bad day, but I think the former is most likely from what I've heard about him.. 😂 I unfortunately cannot attend live shows due to health problems.. I have vasovagal syncope, so basically if I stand for a period of time, 1-2 hours, I pass out unconscious due to low blood pressure in my legs.. and nobody wants 85kg landing on top of them. 😂
Ashley was extremely toxic in the band.. it makes me laugh how he tried to essentially control the band by attempting to change how they sound (which was evident in BVB 4 and Vale) and since he’s left he tried releasing singles and they just flopped If Ashley was a genuinely nice person I wouldn’t be sounding so critical but I feel like what goes around comes around 😅
What really makes my stomach turn is Ashley still tries to ride the coat Tails of bvb when it comes to trying to talk to or flirt with their fans. Like he tried to get me to come to Nashville or come to my town and talked a lot about how he was "impactful" for BVB and a lot of arrogance to a band he almost destroyed.
@alexislassiter3991 when in reality, he didn’t leave much of an impact on the band, besides the fact that, as you stated, nearly made the band implode for the shit he was accused of and also for the blatant manipulation of Andy, he’s an afterthought when it comes to the band. Hell, even Sandra (no shade to her) left more of an impact on the band than Ash.
@the_devil_lies_alone I worry for the newer BVB fans. I've interacted with this person, he's not a good person. And to have put Andy through so much mental turmoil is disgusting. I have screenshots from 2 years back of him trying and trying to pretend he still was friends with them. Who knows what he'd do to lure in naive fans.
@alexislassiter3991 yeah, I genuinely feel bad for the ones that either know of what he did and don’t care or for the ones who just don’t know. The ones that I seriously cannot stand are the ones who make it their lives mission to defend this piece of shit and disrespect the band.
I honestly am disappointed in myself that I fell off from Andy after the Self-Titled. I have nothing but respect for him. It was a show of his and the guys ten years ago that first got me to mosh, and it was a show of his last night that got me to ignite some pits, his lyrics gave me validation as a teen and helped inspired a lot of my art style, the fact he still is a decent man and was willing to cut the cord with a creep he used to call a friend gives me infinitely more respect .
To be fair, I think their friendship got sour over the years, because regardless of what they showed the public, I genuinely believe that Andy didn’t like Ashley being in the band. Let’s remember, the only reason why he even joined in the first place was cause Ashley was planning on stealing the members of the band, at the time of the Knives and Pens music video.
@@xx_andysixx_xx Damn, like I said, I was out of the looop of the history post Self-Titled, what a scummy move to try and fuck over your CREATIVE business partner like that. Good riddance Ash, user.

I always thought he was kind of a weird guy and wasnt good for the band, lonny is great. And ofc most of us dont know everything that happened but its just a gut feeling. Glad to see how well theyre doing.
Loved set the world on fire, and TWAD havent listened to much since. Also Ashleys mugshot had that 80s hair metal singer singer caught with crack kinda vibe, was kinda iconic lmao Sums up his vibe in BVB, but the rebellious act gets old fast hes literally 40 or some shit
i legit do not know the beef between ashley and andy. I heard that ash got arrested or something to that effect which caused friction between them. Plus i also heard that ashley went through false accusations. Personally I just liked the band all together, ash or lonny because Black Veil Brides is one of the 3 bands that inspired me to be a musician
Well, he got arrested after he was let go from the band. And with Ashley talking smack about the band and Andy, more specifically, how could there not be friction?
Essentially, Andy and the band (excluding Lonny) signed NDAs not allowing them to name Ashley by name or else he would’ve taken legal action. So, with that stipulation, Andy and the rest of the band have decided to refer to him as “someone who is no longer in the band” and this is essentially Andy talking about him without mentioning his name, hope that helps.
@@chuckfowler8875 Andy is basically a legend in picking his words. He really thinks well on how to say something. He cares immensely about his band members and band as in something that let's him do what he wants to do, so you can bet he will protect it but will also find a way to say what he wants to say.
We all knew what Vale meant and I think BVB owe us an apology for the stress n pain it caused cos we knew it was over. I'm happy the band are doing great but that soured my affection for them. Please don't send hate, it's just my feeling that this should be addressed as we'd given our time n money to support them and I feel we were deceived by the lack of clarity from Andy n co.
Fortunately, Vale wasn't the end as a whole for BVB. However, it was an end to the Andy/Ashley saga. BVB had to purposely end their promos and touring so they could find a loophole to get Ashley out of the band since Ashley does own 50% of the BVB branding. They just weren't sure they were ever going to be able to come back up after that, but when Andy found Lonny, it helped them propel back into touring and creating albums. Besides, Ashley made it a thing where each member and crew had an NDA that also held a defamation clause. BVB could NOT speak out about what was going on at all or Ashley would've taken legal action and would gain every single penny, regardless if what was being said was true or not. So, they wanted to tell fans, but they couldn't directly. So, they created Vale to indirectly say there were problems and may not be able to come back from it. Luckily, they did, and Ashley buried himself even deeper. He's still getting 50% of the profits, but he'll never be able to perform with them again.
I always thought Vale sounded like they were sad. We needed this. And we're all happy that the fire is reignited. ❤

Man buddy I’m almost in my 30s now and I was like 24 or 26 somewhere in between there and wasn’t a fan of them anymore so never really heard it W&D came out after high school I remember when knives & pens and Perfect weapon was there biggest songs lol I feel old crazy how fast time flys man 20 yrs old enjoy your 20s brotha man wish I could restart mine for me 20s Was my decade of so much heartbreak damage loss gain great things horrible things all In that decade and I’ve learned a lot like they say u live and Learn my 20s def was my learning stage for me personally Ik it’s besides the topic just felt the need to give u some advice idk why I wish I listened to the people who gave me advice from a teen to my 20s until even now I still find myself at 30s saying to myself ok I learned Frm that so just moral of my statement I had fun in my 20s def a lot of fun and def a lot of bad and learning but music also in ur 20s is so dope because for me personally I was experimenting w things and music makes that better lol but yea have fun Brotha don’t take anything that happens to u in in your 20s / this decade of ur life like I said idk why I said all that just something made me feel the need to tell u that and that everything is gonna be ok your young you have so much to learn and so much u will learn don’t be so hard on yourself for anything in ur life ur only 20 give yourself a break sometimes man your gonna be fine idk what that means to u but yea just had to say that to u I believe life sends messengers to people but anyways back to the topic of this comment when vale came out I was mid/late 20s so I was into different shit than what I was in 08 - 2016 when I stopped listening to them and alot of bands I listened to as a teen and early 20s now I like alot of what they call dad rock alternative rock haha I still love to hear some white chapel (MITCH) suicide silence motionless in white etc but yea man my scene emo phase I may have out grown but the music and memory’s I have of that time of my life / that era of music itself I’ll never forget and still will always be emo in my heart there’s always gonna be a small spot even tho I outgrew it like it said but I will never fade away from it totally there’s always a spot in my heart for that shit and especially BVB they are what actually started me liking that kind of metal music it was always Metallica or nirvana, Ozzy Iron Maiden 80s 90s metal so anyway vale I’ll def have to check it out since all I see are positive things about the song /album last album I was listing to and into the band was W&D after that idk shit about them lol so I’ll give vale a listen. And see if the hype adds up
And it is so sad how all the bands I grew up listening to in the era or genre are now becoming the OGs of metal like Metallica use to be now there like the kiss the classical rock haha but now all the bands we like or bands it this like of genre BMTH , Whitechapel, Suicide silence, MIW , Attila, ETF, FIR, BlessTheFall, Attack attack, OfMice&Men (Etc) there all getting so old and now there’s new sounding bands and new n bands I’ve never heard of and talk about when asked “who did u listen to growing up” and literally they say all the bands I listen to / listed above ⬆️ so yea bro it’s sad how old there all becoming and are pretty much the OGs now shit is so wild lol and sad frfr ☹️😕🤘🎤🎶😈🎸🥁😎🤜🤛🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
He who will not be named
❤
I have one of Ashley’s picks. One of the last showed he played.
Couldn’t agree more
Im glad you guys didnt break up and created more music. ❤
OMG NO WAY!! i’m cackling at the thumbnail because it’s my pfp on instagram😭 i can’t believe this popped up in my recommended what are the odds💀anyways chefs kiss video
Ashley has always been a diva I had a feeling he’d be problematic. Glad he left tbh.
I am so terribly sorry that you went through that 😥
@@xx_andysixx_xx Thank you, i appreciate it. His fandom is extremely ignorant and i think everyone should know how awful he really is
Yeah, completely agree. I’ve had my fair share of interactions with AP fans 💀
@@xx_andysixx_xx i want to make an impact because this guy doesn't deserve a platform but i have no contact with bvb fans
@shanyyra8767 as a fellow.victum of that monster, I belive you and I'm so sorry you had to go thru that sweetheart
Oh Andy it’s ok ❤️
I think i mightve missed it being about Ashley besides the beginning because it sounded like Andy was talking about his personal problems trying to mentally deal with the entire band life
No, when he’s talking about “a certain element”, it’s Ashley.
I mean, given the context now, it wouldn’t be far fetched to assume Ash was a major issue within the band. Thanks, though
he was the driving factor as to why
@@atticusritchie what?
I mean, in their defense, if you know how much this band meant to the fans and Andy, in particular, would you want to admit the band is over?
No more long hair or Jrock style this is what he looks like 2023
Y’know, I used to shit on this guy A LOT when we were younger and still figuring this life shit out. I’m glad to see how far and mature he’s become and that he stands by his work regardless. 🤘🏼
Props to you for having a change of heart ☺️
I always wondered about the fact that we go through changes. But it comes back around. The band in my mind was like a power house like kiss in my era ! Seen them live thanks to my daughter they helped us bond and get through some dark times for both. I have work related c-ptsd 👨🏻🚒🚑 but my daughter was bullied and made fun of for many reasons ! Bvb can & will be an icon. All great musicians !! 🤘🏼
I got the VIP for the resurrection tour with Asking Alexandria. I have met most people in the scene. However, Ashley was by far the rudest person I have met. I tried to talk to him and he just gave me a head nod and give me this vibe like “hey don’t talk to me” but the rest of the guys were great
Damn, so sorry that he was being an ass to you
I've heard a fair few musicians from the Americas can be like that. 😂
Ashley was always very pleasant the times we met him
Ashley was extremely toxic in the band.. it makes me laugh how he tried to essentially control the band by attempting to change how they sound (which was evident in BVB 4 and Vale) and since he’s left he tried releasing singles and they just flopped
If Ashley was a genuinely nice person I wouldn’t be sounding so critical but I feel like what goes around comes around 😅
Agreed
I feel that all too well! A decade for me
I honestly am disappointed in myself that I fell off from Andy after the Self-Titled.
I remember listening to the last song on vale and I literally wanted to start crying. The only song from Vale that I actually liked was When They Call My Name. Because it hits me hard.
I always thought he was kind of a weird guy and wasnt good for the band, lonny is great. And ofc most of us dont know everything that happened but its just a gut feeling. Glad to see how well theyre doing.
My birthday is behind him

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤love love
Dude is a Bengals fan?! Who Dey my guy!
Where's the original video?
ua-cam.com/video/41Fds1jFx68/v-deo.html
Can someone explain how this video relates to Ashley ? I never followed any drama or issues/anything so
Essentially, Andy and the band (excluding Lonny) signed NDAs not allowing them to name Ashley by name or else he would’ve taken legal action. So, with that stipulation, Andy and the rest of the band have decided to refer to him as “someone who is no longer in the band” and this is essentially Andy talking about him without mentioning his name, hope that helps.
Funny didn't sound like he talked about Ashley Purdy for 11 minutes..but i didn't know that Purdy was so much older than Andy.
Well, because of the legal consequences that would come if he mentioned him by name 🤷♂️
@andycoma59 yea but it was awfully faque...If you didn't know the deal you'd be lost.
@@chuckfowler8875 Andy is basically a legend in picking his words. He really thinks well on how to say something. He cares immensely about his band members and band as in something that let's him do what he wants to do, so you can bet he will protect it but will also find a way to say what he wants to say.
it his Andy room? that batman awesome stuff?
I'm assuming it is, I do remember hearing Andy talk about being a Batman fan :)
Yeah, it was, at the time. When he was still living in LA
i thought it was where they were shooting the andy show at the time but i could be so wrong.
I always liked Lonny better
I didn't hear him speak of Ashley at all.
He couldn’t mention Ashley by name
Goddam.
Out of genuine curiosity... How did you get that invw?

A guy
I thought Ashley was a woman, he didn’t seem like a man
I was thought he is transgender
We all knew what Vale meant and I think BVB owe us an apology for the stress n pain it caused cos we knew it was over. I'm happy the band are doing great but that soured my affection for them. Please don't send hate, it's just my feeling that this should be addressed as we'd given our time n money to support them and I feel we were deceived by the lack of clarity from Andy n co.
Well, I think Andy just didn’t want to alarm the fan base. He said it himself, if it was the end, then it was the perfect send off album for them.
It didnt end though and they dont really owe us anything, we choose to support bvb and he didnt want to alarm anyone and either way its a great album.
@elsagoldball agreed, it’s an underrated album
@@loveydovey2495 he’s still getting paid? That sucks, I mean, I hope Andy and the band find a way to terminate that contract.
Andy VERY briefly mentioned Ashley. Literally no need for that title whatsoever.
The whole video is about Ashley
Explains why Vale is such a terrible album lol
Well, there are some hits on the album, but the vibe was definitely off
