I dig the different bags too. That makes sense

If you just step to give yourself more momentum, start your throw farther back than right at the front of the board. If you want to throw from the front of the board, learn not to step when you throw.

I don’t think you should be able to change bags during a match. Using the golf example…. it’s the ball that has the most performance built into it and your not allowed to switch balls during a hole without a penalty. Your arm is the golf club basically
I personally think the foul line should also be determined and you’re not allowed to cross it for any reason. It’s like bowling which is what I think this sport most compares to. You can take as many steps as you want but you can’t cross that foul line even after you throw the ball. Maybe we should come up with a way to grease a spot in front of them and that will end step overs real fast lol. BUT if we are using basketball as the reference forget about the 3-point line and just use the actual free throw/foul line. Those are stationary shots and practically the same thing as cornhole yet they are allowed to step over after the ball hits the rim right? So make it allowed when the bag hits the board if anything…..

Great point with the golf ball analogy and free throws

I am kinda new at this and still learning but I do think some of the steps r an advantage. I don't step so when I am rolling or pushing it's tough to get the momentum without the step. I think it's a good rules.

I stepped for 3 years and last year I changed to no step and I immediately got better and have continued to only get better and more consistent. At first pushes rolls was uncomfortable but I figured it out. I personally will not go back to stepping and am really happy and a better more consistent player! Good luck!

I'm disappointed they didn't go through with the bag change. You mentioning in the video the mixed bags, that's crazy! I'm all for it. The strategy that would come from it would be so fun to watch!

One different bag at least! Like the moneyball in the 3 pt contest

I'd vote for bag changes are done once bags are live.
I'd vote for no crossing the foul line until all 8 bags have come to rest, or a player calls a time out. Penalty is a charged time out

There’s an obvious hesitation to establish and enforce a true foul line. Rule changes that stay in the grey area are ridiculous. It’s either you committed a foul or you didn’t. Not plant foot stays in the box, or any other half thought out idea that keeps the rule subjective. IMO Shooters, including those who utilize momentum and a follow through step should me made to start and finish in the players box. The last two attempts to change this rule have kept it ambiguous.

So you all are saying if I release my bag before the line and follow through it a foul. That's bull.

For the line rule - put a 2x4 off the board and you can’t step over. Problem solved. For the bag change - allow 2 bags of one set and 2 from a 2nd set. Can’t change throughout the game.

Easy fix! A barrier instead of a line!

Serious question......how do the officials not know that the different bags aren't already happening? As long as the pattern is the same you cant tell. Unless the material is a huge difference, it might already be happening? You can have companys make different speeds but same looking bag.

No line stepping. If you need to gain that much momentum to toss a little bag, find something else to do with your weak ass time.

Tell me why it's an advantage if someone releases the bag behind the line and steps over after the bags in the air? Cause there week? Or is it because you do like the form?

Don’t get butt hurt because you don’t have a step game.

I think they are trying to make the officiating black and white where the players can ref the matches and not have an official on every court to make those calls. Allowing the step and having the plant foot stay in the box is aceptable to me . I dont step over so it is neither here nor there for me but players who do step hate it and players who dont are impartial. The only question I have is does the "BOX" extend above the floor so if you step and your plant foot leaves the floor but does not cross the front of the board is that foot still considered in the box?

I like the question. I'd think the foul line is on the floor, otherwise your hand is crossing the foul line.

Almost all sports as long as you are not touching the item, basketball, football, Cornhole bag, when your foot touches the ground it’s not out of bounds. Therefore if the bag is out of your hands before you step out of bounds, it’s not out of bounds.
