hi...im have about the same problem you have. But i cant use my kickstarter at all. And the starter was barely doing anything..mostly a slight turn and then no sounds at all. Question: Is the solenoid the same as the relay? Since labor is so expensive for scooters, ive gone ahead and purchased most of the starter related parts like the relay, remote switch, and ignition starter button. I skipped the starter itself for now. Thanks!

how many miles on the starter motor ?
About 7,000 miles
mine took a total crap at 8000 miles...year 2009 aprilia 125cc these are Chinese starter motors..FYI
