What a gorgeous anchorage and fun place to hang out! The snorkeling looked epic in the clear waters and the animals there are so cute, especially that little black cat with white paws. Loved the music you used in this video. Keep enjoying guys!
Said it before, but now I know it's true! Grace, haven't seen the light in yr eyes for over a year..when you smile now it's real. Good job Capt Bill,ya brought life an Happiness again, good on ya mate.❤🇺🇲👍
it's so pretty with all the different colored bushes. All the pretty bright colors of flowers. Aww that sucks. the horses can see the grass but can't reach it. That sure is a cute kitty Grace. He or She needs a home Grace. you'll rent a car tomorrow so you won't to carry it.😇 excited for your next video.
Another wonderful episode! That island seems to have many animals wondering around. I enjoy your treks up to the overlooks. As a hang glider pilot I look for places to land down below. I didn't see one in this episode. If I ever find myself a blue water boat I'd love to be able to bring my hang glider with me and fly in exotic places! Oh and at 22:22 I must say, Grace, that my cucumber is bigger than your cucumber. LOL : - )
What a marvelous episode, the excitement and quality cinematography is amazing. We are very concerned over Bill's health? Has he been resting since your passage?
Stating the obvious, but your senses get so used to the sights and sounds of open water sailing for many days. Ocean, sky. Same colors, smells, and sounds repeating each day. Then when you make landfall, your senses are nearly overwhelmed by all the new sensations of colors, smells, human contact, animals. Even the sound of the waves hitting the shore is more soothing. I love the color green, and watching your videos is such a treat because of all the different shades you see. Thank you for sharing your visual experiences with us.
You two are so cute and beautiful together,so inspiring and informative, underwater shots are amazing the reef and fish life, Beach Birthday and Sunset ,post card , drone shots awesome Drinking Shellbacks memorys , thank you for taking us along,🔥northern California says Hello, Good thoughts and prayers for all impacted by the Park Fire .so nice to escape with you guys 😁🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for taking us on your journey. The sights are breathtaking though I imagine being there in person would be unforgettable. Watching as usual from Queensland, Australia ❤.
Its always amazing to see you guys first getting there. One of you sailors was even able to communicate well enough with the locals to be able to buy fresh stuff there (including eggs, no shortage of chickens on those islands ! ) !
Another wonderful video! Kudos for walking for over 2 hours just to get to an office that was closed! You guys managed to keep a good attitude and figure out the next step.
Hi Bill and Grace. Another great video. Beautiful scenery. The lookout shot was amazing. Looking down looked pretty scary to me. Love all the horses. What a great beach party and sunset. Thanks for sharing. Love from Canada.😃
That is why we follow...we like to hear you share, and talk about stuff! OBTW, Grace, you are very inspiring for how to handle health issues better....I'm aware I am only seeing the story segments that made the episode edit, but nonetheless, certain "procedures" I am facing are not so terrifying now. Calico Skies IS all around an inspiration!.
Good afternoon S/VCalico Skies crew. The supermarket is GREAT. 🤩 I was very impressed, the Maracuyá Fruit Juice is great, it is a Brazilian seed and it has a revitalizing effect, especially when you walk and walk... Mss. Ally still has the energy and excitement of discovering the island, when she saw her more than 12 miles away, she looks like a squirrel, low up, up low, I even saw her dragging a Dinghi, she is not Miss Olympia. Captain Ben, it seems that he became a fire fighter in the Marquesas, he is behind the fire and half scared because the fire grew 🔥🤣 What's wrong with Captain Bill, I see him half off. Well they are having a great time, great. 🌊⛵🇺🇸🇨🇦
Grace we have stone walls like that in the UK too. Clever thing is they are not cemented… so if you need to get access you can take a section down and then rebuild it. Old countries with plenty of rock seem to all do it. All round the Med they do too.
@@CalicoSkiesSailingI meant to say I think saying New York works… it’s like I say London… big cities have their own identity and transcend the country they are in or your place of birth. I always see you as New Yorkers not American or Canadian. Not that what I think matters LOL.
You sail all the way to FP, go for a walk and what do you see, horses and cats... Probably not exactly what you expected, lol I'm sure you'll find plenty, more exotic creatures as you travel on. When you are that far from "home" saying New York when asked is also easy because EVERYONE knows where NY is. I'm originally from Upstate NY, about an hour north of Albany... When I'm in the states I'd get ticked when I'd tell someone I'm from NY and they'd just assume I meant NYC... but when I was in Germany and people assumed NYC, I figured, yeah that's close enough of a reference when you are across an ocean.
Yes .. but often when the question is asked the person wants to know where I came from now .. like where do I live is really the question, which is complicated😜
Yep we usually coordinate with each other. We have group chats on whatapp with all the boats that we know in the area and shoot messages when we are on the move, often going together
Skip Tahiti you will be disappointed just east of Tahiti Ravavee or north of that if you guys go south from your location Ragaroa Atoll. WATER IS CLEAR TO 150 FEET AND MORE
We actually just got our compressor in Mexico before crossing and were busy with boat projects so didn't get to use it. The Marquesas don't have very clear water so it wasn't worth it but in the next island group we visit, the Tuomutos it is super clear and we used it there! (Not next weeks video but the one after, that island group begins :))
Because it usually means where are you from recently not where are you from originally... most people don't travel by sailboat so when you are asked where are you from it means where did you come from just now .. am I making any sense, ha?
I love the undersea video tour ! I love your intro too!
Thank you so much!!!! 🤗🤗

Louisiana is humid too. 100 plus temps!
I bet!
Nice island. You do get your daily exercise in!
Legend has it that the black cat is sill following sailors around making his case why the should adopt him.
lol grace thought about it!
I want the black cat to adopt! He (maybe she?) was sooooo cuuuute!

Some beautiful anchorages. You two are great at showing the challenges but always mustering through with a positive spirit and grace. 😉

Love the sound of the waves along the shore on your walk, perfectly compliments the surrounding beauty.

I love the ending!
And having been to the Marquesas fairly recently, I am enjoying your photography. What a beautiful place.

Just wondering, when you showed the map of your walk to customs it made me want to ask why you couldn’t just dinghy straight across the bay .
It was a shear cliff on the other side, on docks or land access

Why didn’t you just take the dinghy across the harbor?
There was no shore access on that side unfortutely
