Mobula 8 takes its first flight at Mindfield in Brownsville, TN in this one-pack flight review and crash! Where did it go in this mess?
Filmed on August 20, 2023 on the second day of Mindfield meet last year. Thanks to @txarchdroneguy4731 and @Duranafy for helping me find it, the heat was brutal on the second day.

I think you’d be fine Ron, a lot of people brought DJI Avatas to mindfield and just took it slow through the structure. It looks a lot worse to fly than it actually is. Thanks for checking it out! The 2023 mindfield was a blast.
The Mindfield looks like a great location to fly. The Mobula8 Walksnail Edition is one of my favourites in my collection, only weighs 47 grams and it's the one I fly the most. About how quiet the beacon strength is, just use "Esc-Configurator" and use the slider to max out the beacon and beeper strengths. I know that it warns that it could damage a motor, but I think is quite O.K. on 2S quads and it makes a huge difference when you have to find your Quad.
I’ve definitely got to do that and increase the beacon strength. Thanks for the tip! Have you broken your mobula8 frame? That’s the only thing I’ve been really disappointed about it so far. And yes, Mindfield is an awesome structure to fly, everyone should try to get to it at least once.
@@JohnCuppi Yeah I have cracked the battery tray, but I made a TPU mount now so all good, I did managed to get it to eat it own antenna but that was cheap and easily replaced. As the mobula8 frame is cheap and easy to replace, I carry a couple of spares.
@@cyberess1000 What's disappointing is that I've used 85mm frames that are definitely a lot stronger. Betafpv makes some good 85mm frames, and the URUAV85 frame is also tough as nails. I'm probably just going to swap into one of those, even though they're a bit heavier, I'd rather not have to keep replacing the frame as often.

Dangerously hot that day in 2023 for many areas across the US, actually, yes and being on the blacktop was worse than getting shade in the grass under the mindfield. This was my last flight before leaving. Thanks for checking it out.

@@JohnCuppi thank you very much. I bought a meteor75 hd, but 1s just gives me 3 min max. So I used the parts from a mobula 8 and bought the aio from the meteor 85 to upgrade to 85mm 2S
