Fun fun fun fun fun! I love this video so much, Dave! Thank you so much for putting this up. I am always humbled and thankful that you are enjoying my mouthpieces so much. It means the world to me!!! ❤️❤️❤️🎷🎷🎷🎷🎷
Well it sure would be nice if the ultem pieces were to become available again. I was too late to get an alto piece like Dave's and ended up buying a poorly crafted ultem from Another Maker.
@@DaawudFareed we won’t be using that material again, but the hard rubber is even more resonant. That’s why I stuck with that. If you like the sound of my mouthpieces, just get the hard rubber. Dave likes the look of the Ultem, but the hr is king.
Wonderful playing! I don't what it is about basic stock ligatures, but their simple, no bells and whistles, classic aesthetic always just hits different.
WoW, What a pro player and video organizer. Love the performance and master skills. I do have a question? I see you guys are triplets so which one is the oldest 😁
Great Sound! What tip openings do you play on alto, soprano and tenor? I would like to try one with the same tip opening as you play, but don't know which one to order. Is it a 7 on alto?
Dave I got a question? I love your tone and many other saxophonists. But my tone sounds so beginner and weak, what should I do to get a smoother nicer tone?
I may not be dave, but I can offer advice to supplement what he just said. The best starting point for tone development is long tones, so play a note for 4-5 seconds and exclusively pay attention to how it sounds and between long tones make small changes in your throat position and note down what qualities of your sound change when you make those adjustments. The goal is to find the right throat position for the sound you want on long tones then use that as a goalpost for transferring it across your range and as you play more complex music then just straight tones.
I wore them for all 3 (right ear only - I don’t like the look of headphones in my videos for the most part) but you see it mostly on alto because I had to thrn the most to “look” over at the other 2 saxophonists
That make of mouthpiece produced a very attractive sound for playing fast swinging modern jazz phrasing and tonal bend variations on the soprano sax BUT i feel doesn't suit the tenor sax for getting the full bodied sound favoured by the great Anerican tenor soloists , apart from the playing of Mike Brecker
That couldn’t be further from the truth. Dave sounds great on it and does not sound like Michael Brecker. There are 4 pages of The Classic video clips on my 10MFAN website which show all sides of what that mouthpiece can do.

Thanks so much Mark!!

Dave's the reason why I use 10mFan mouthpieces - best mouthpieces I've ever played!
@@SomeGuyOnSax thank you so much!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

The three of you play very well.
Thanks!
Thank you!
I appreciate that!
Lmao the level of dad joke I love it
:)
I really enjoy your soprano playing, even when it’s not smooth jazz :)
Ha, thanks!
Wonderful playing! I don't what it is about basic stock ligatures, but their simple, no bells and whistles, classic aesthetic always just hits different.
I need to be wearing a cap and encouraging myself like this. Bravo!
Moving to the motion of Smooth Jazz by D.P. Very nice playing...
Wow! Dave, I enjoyed that so much! It's so nice that you share our amazing talent! WONDERFUL! Peace and joy, always, Charles
Thank you so much!
This just sounds so fun!
Thank you!
I loved the opening soprano solo
Wonderful playing on all three horns, Dave!
Thanks so much!
This was really good! Great playing Dave!
Sounds great! I use Theo Wanne myself. I can just play. No fighting the gear!
Excellent !
great as always
Thank you!
eyyy first one, what an absolute banger
Thank you!!
So awesome

Nice playing! Would you wear a Mets cap if I sent you one? It would have made the video much more endearing.
I'd throw it directly in the garbage where it belongs
Is that a Phillies hat? If so, they just royally kicked our butts last night in Milwaukee! lol Great sounding mpc, thanks for the vid!
Ha, it is…hot streak lately, but it’s 99.99999% fools gold with this team
I really don't know why I always watch those who don't play during the solos 😄
yeah man
Heat🔥🔥
They no longer use the amber colored (Ulem?) material, FYI.

Thanks! Alto - 7, tenor - 7**, soprano - 6
Hey! Thanks for your quick answer!
Now, just for fun, transcribe these solos and put in a book like Greg fishman.
Alto key of A Blues
Tenor and soprano key of D blues
have you tried the bss mouthpieces? would be good to compare them to these

Usually it’s an embouchure thing - voice “aww” while playing and support with air. Reach out for lessons if you want to get more in-depth!

Also, long tones! It's said ad nauseum, but it's true! Gain breath control and correct embouchure and tone follows!

Hi, I enjoyed your video. That's great. Thank you🍈🍎🍇🍒🍓
Why the bluetooth earbuds on only the alto? How'd you do that?

@@DavePollack now I see! Neat; probably a mono mix in one ear, while you’re recording the sax parts.

Here’s just one video for you to enjoy, Edward. It’s in the Stan Getz vein.

I’m not a tenor player, so that’s why it doesn’t sound as good - the mouthpiece is PERFECT!!
Hey
Hi
DUKES Place
key of C
C jam blues
Sleigh Ride? 2:56
Sadly, 10m doesn't make that cool amber one anymore. :(
True, but the hard rubber plays the exact same!
Yes, the hard rubber plays even more resonant.
You didn't say why You play them
Presumably because they make sounds when attached to a saxophone.
sure I did - through the horns
The answer will come, if you listen diligently.
The Chosen One would NOT be amused. That soprano sounds way to round and warm. It's not nasal enough. Branford seems to have the same problem 🙄
nasty ding on your tenor neck does not seem to cause a problem!!
I saw that too.
Please get that dent removed
The whole body is bent too - no issues for me! I don’t care about that stuff
The guy in the middle had best lines. The other two sucked....
100% agree
