    Helpful tip!! If your jar lid is stuck, wrap a rubber band around the lid and give it another twist. The rubber bands give the top of the jar and the lid some extra friction and makes the opening of the jar as easy as can be.

      Also another trick is to take a bottle opener like you’re opening it until you hear the pop. This releases the seal so it will come right open.

    Dave from Pittsburgh, good food to make: chops smothered in mushroom soup. Brown (sear) 4-5 porkchops on both sides. (Bone in or boneless) 3 cans of Cream of mushrooms soup, clean out can with little water. Chop 1 package of mushrooms. Combine into a 9x13 baking dish. Add chops and bake in oven at 375 degree for a hour. Dice done potatoes to cook. Use mushroom sauce to pour over potatoes.

    • @wendyneal4900
      @wendyneal4900 Рік тому

      @@carolekellypearce1667 I get a custom box, meaning I can choose what cuts I get. I get the 6 choice box, I think it’s $169. There’s so much to choose from. Ground beef is two-one pound packs, chicken breasts are 3-1lb packs. So although it’s only 6 choices, it can be as many as 18 lbs of meat depending on what you choose. Also, they have great member deals, and other add-ons. I usually end up with a box costing me $200-$230 per month. It’s only me and my husband, but we often give excess packs to our adult daughters to help them off-set their grocery costs, and I pressure can extra chicken and ground beef to keep our freezers from getting too full. It’s not the cheapest option on the planet, but the quality and convenience can’t be beat. If you value, grass fed, pasture raised, no antibiotic, hormone free meats NOT raised is commercial feed warehouses, this is an EXCELLENT choice! Hope this helps.

      If you have some kitchen scissors and need your bird to cook faster, try googling spatchcock chicken. Basically, you cut out the chicken's spine (save that for making broth later) and flatten the bird. It makes the chicken cook so much faster and it still taste just as yummy.

    Tip for opening jars from a 60-year-old woman. Get a pair of heat-resistant bbq gloves that have silicone dots or pads on the palm side.
    You have to put on both gloves, or this won't work. Then jar opening becomes so much easier! The friction on the gloves, pulling in opposite directions, is the magic.

    The chicken winga.can be twisted on each other to keep from burning,or clip the tips off.
    You can cut slips on each side of the chicken skin next to the tail. Cross the legs and push them through the slits on the opposite sides of the bird. No twine needed.

    I love the salad idea for a big mac flavor. I make a Big Mac and Cheese. Same idea. Browned ground, pickle, onion and Thousand Island dressing. Then mix in boiled and drained macaroni and American cheese. I never tried adding shredded lettuce, but if I have some I'll try it.

    Oh this gives me a great idea for a layered salad and maybe add a bacon layer and a layer of relish n maybe some toasted sesame buns for the top...I miss those shaker salads.

    The salad and chicken recipes looked delicious. I would not eat a tomato based wild rice recipe. I have used Uncle Ben's Wild Rice my whole life and I love it. It is not tomato based. Thanks for the recipes and video.

    Just a tip if you don’t have kitchen twine to tie the legs of your chicken … just get some tin foil and fold it back and forth like a fan and twist and tie the legs of your chicken. This was a tip from Julia Child‘s cookbook… You always have tin foil but, you don’t always have the kitchen twine she said to improvise so that’s all I use from now on… your chicken looks delicious 👍🏻

    I remember the McShakers Salads!!!! It was in the 90's because I was in high school and would drive to go get in one. They were so good!
