My mom and (ex)stepdad built the "perfect" life for us. They've been together since I was 3 and were together for almost a decade. We had a huge house, we had everything we always wanted, then 5 more sisters were born into the family. Years down the road my (ex)stepdad ended up cheating on my mother. I was like 9 at the time and I knew what was going on. I knew that she wasn't happy with him. My mom dropped him as soon as she go the money to move us into our own house. They had 5 kids (plus me) together and my mother didn't use that as an excuse to stay with him. That gave her a reason to leave him. She wanted to show me that you don't have to stay just for the kids. I am 17 now & we talk about it all the time. My mother tells me that the first-time her cheated it was WRAP. It was his choice to throw our family out the window for some candy so she left him . We grew up happier than ever with just her. This is how I will be. Just like my mom. I will not take that kind of disrespect from no one. I have to forgive and move on BUT I WILL NOT allow myself to reconcile with a cheater.

My mom and (ex)stepdad built the "perfect" life for us. They've been together since I was 3 and were together for almost a decade. We had a huge house, we had everything we always wanted, then 5 more sisters were born into the family. Years down the road my (ex)stepdad ended up cheating on my mother. I was like 9 at the time and I knew what was going on. I knew that she wasn't happy with him. My mom dropped him as soon as she go the money to move us into our own house. They had 5 kids (plus me) together and my mother didn't use that as an excuse to stay with him. That gave her a reason to leave him. She wanted to show me that you don't have to stay just for the kids. I am 17 now & we talk about it all the time. My mother tells me that the first-time her cheated it was WRAP. It was his choice to throw our family out the window for some candy so she left him . We grew up happier than ever with just her. This is how I will be. Just like my mom. I will not take that kind of disrespect from no one. I have to forgive and move on BUT I WILL NOT allow myself to reconcile with a cheater.
1.You have understood nothing about men. you should first learn about our biological functioning.
2. You story is not the same with them . Dj envy love his wife and she know it ( all cheater are not same you have To analyse that case by case ) so why stop 18 years of mariage for sexual urges which can be adjusted.
3. You don't know their history what they went through together during all these years the love they have for each other, their secret, their friendship etc ... there is a lot to take into account.

I think if you guys build something together don't quick to throw it out the window. Go to counseling and see if it can work. It's gonna be hard but go. This ideology that you just leave is gonna hit you in the long run especially if you are older and have kids. I have seen women/ men leave each other without TRYING TO work it out and neither person found somebody better. You realise there is so much things worst than cheating out there. ( U know what I mean) what your mom is teaching you is good but it's also bad. You may be in the same situation as your mom in the future and you may not make the same decision she did.... only time will tell.

No one forced you to be married or to commit to mongamy, this is a free country, if you wanted a laid back marriage then you can ask for one if your partner is up for it. But when you sign up for a monogamous partnership willingly, cheating is not a mistake.
