The yellow go kart has a stage 1 420 with a 40 series torque converter. Top speed on the yellow kart was 40mph and my dual engine was 45mph. The gearing on both are different now for offroad use

@@GoKartsandMiniBikes Did they both have a governor? Just trying to get an idea on the performance of these engines. Trying to decide between big block and small block.

@@BunkerBlog yeah they both still had governors. The red go kart is working with 2 engines instead of 1 though, but it's also a couple hundred pounds heavier than the yellow go kart. We spent about the same amount if money on both karts as far as engine setup though after they were both running.

@@BunkerBlog if you're riding on flat ground a small block should do great even on a go kart like the yellow one. Just get a torque converter and gear it for the kind of terrain you mostly ride on.

@@GoKartsandMiniBikes Yeah I'd be building a small frame with suspension. Sort of a mini rally buggy. Aiming for 50+mph on top end but a lot of low end grunt. I'd be ditching the governor. I already have a stage 2 212 that moves a Manco Dingo around very well, but I'm thinking of doing a stage 1 420 with billet internals next. What would you go with?
