If I can find a Lexus dealer who will sell me one at MSRP without add-ons, I would definitely replace my 2023 4Runner LTD for that that. The LC 250 is too expensive comparing it to this GX. Great video!
Is it worth waiting for the hybrid engine to come out for the GX550?
I'm looking more for the Land Cruiser for the Hybrid powertrain and for cost reasons. Hoping they will come out with a TRD Pro to give it more ground clearance and upgraded suspension. We have modified our 2014 4Runner trail suspension with a 3" lift and 33" tires. Don't want to modify a brand new vehicle if we can. Any insight into this?
factory 3" lift and 33" tire(35 might be too much to ask from Toyota) would so nice, most people will save their money from upgrading and no warranty issues.
Will also be interesting what they do with the 4Runner. It may be upgraded with more serious off road gear to better compete with the Wrangler and Bronco. We'll see.
I am waiting for plug-in hybrid diesel with dual tank and range 2,000km.

I would appreciate hearing the spoken Japanese language from the Chief Engineer. I think this would contribute to a respectful interview.
Just one thing that I concerned about is "fuel capacity", the fuel tank holds only 80L which is basically adjusted for diesel and inline 4 engine, not for v6 twin-turbo engine.....

Hmmm can the FJ drive as good as a GX on a highway. Why are you not comparing the other side. Irrelevant comparison to me.
I love the GX550. I am hoping the hybrid version keeps the V6 and offroad capabilities but improves on the mpg. If they go this route… it will be my choice for next years purchase
It's already known the hybrid version will be the exact power train as the LC Tacoma Pro/Trail Hunter
V6 hybrid is for the LX 700

The new Lexus 550 does nothing better than my FJ Cruiser could do at half the price! In fact, my FJ Cruiser is more rugged inside and out than the Lexus 550 and I am able to wash out the interior of my FJ Cruiser with a garden hose if necessary! Making a vehicle more complicated means greater possibility of a component failure and greater repair costs!
I think only select FJs had KDSS? The GX550 will objectively have more articulation with e-KDSS. ATRAC, MTS and all other traction-controls are also improved by generations on the 550. The luxury and refinement stuff is subjective. .. but it's hard to dismiss the GX550's articulation numbers...
@@LexusGX460-OFF-ROAD articulation wise, you are probably right. But the GX550 has average off road angles and ground clearance. 8.6 vs 9.6 in the Fj cruiser

Outstanding video with the chief engineer of the Lexus GX 550… I was wondering if they fixed the 10 speed transmission when it goes into neutral and starts moving? Do you know if this has been addressed before they let the GX by 550 out to the public?
