@rockgeneration thanks for the tips bro. you know what guide i desperately need im a one leader user (decimus) lol i know i know... but there are many army combinations by other leaders that i dont know how to battle off. For example the annoying convoys filled with marines, snipers and cyclops and healers. no matter what i bring at it it seems to always win. also the ,mechs and wolverine combination they slice through everything except banshees but those wolverines get them.
I actually knew most of this but the way Rock broke it down really reinforced it and helped me understand it better plus I've honestly been very lazy about implementing some of this stuff because it didn't feel like as big a deal as I realize it is now and now I feel more inclined to pay attention to it. Super dope video.
I'm glad you covered XP gains for leader points. When my buddies and I are testing stuff or just goofing around I've found it really helps to build 4 turrets on 3 bases, upgrade them all. I already knew it gave a leader point, now i know it only takes fully upgrading 10 turrets for a leader point
Definitely enjoyed the update to my tactics. I started capping nodes quicker and sooner but didn't realize they were helping me get XP. I thought it was a time based thing. Now I know that I usually have the upperhand there. Thanks!
Hello there, I love Halo Wars, and I just got back on the ball after a year hiatus, and I truly appreciate the level of info you've given here. I only play against AI but they still lock me up lol. Thank you again.
I usually just play 3v3 against AI with 2 other real players haha. I played against real players and it was not a fun experience getting air rushed or playing against someone using colony was not fun. I also find playing against AI can sometimes be more intense because they aren’t a real player who copy what others players do and they actually adapt. Usually I play with siege units or super heavy ground armour and like to establish points where I just hold ground and drive off the enemy and let my teammates press the enemy while I chip in every once and awhile. My strategy does not work very well in PvP lmao
Omfg thanks.. Ive been trying to understand how people had leader powers before me for ages.. I'm so glad this video popped up.. I've asked around and no one has said anytbing about that secret.. Thanks.. Will be showing my team this asap..
The most important part of Halo Wars is learning how to attack . If you select all units and press x the closest units will block all of the units behind it - so , pressing x to attack and pressing x on the map nearby will allow your entire army to attack each enemy much faster . Also great with small groups .
@@F34R_Slayer basically, he means when your are attacking a base let’s say. Instead of pressing on the base to order your troops to attack the base (where your troops will stop as soon as they get into attack range, potentially making other troops behind them not in range go around them to attack) you tell them to move right beside the base, so all troops can move into range at the same time, thus effectively adding more firepower faster.
There's a few that really matter: Melee heros (especially decimus) animation canceling Jackrabbit double tap Anders Douglas fast rockets Melee building killers (jpb, goliath)
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I’ve been playing HW2 with some close friends for YEARS now lol. But if I’m not mistaken (please correct me if I’m wrong) but aren’t the leader point unlocks just on a timer? Never knew that xp unlocked them because my friends and I always seem to get leader points at the exact same time every time lol.
It is XP based as rock describe in the video but realistically yes both players will get their LPs around the same time. It matters more in high level play where having the next point even a few seconds before your opponent does (because you performed more XP gaining activities) will have a big impact on the game. Especially for power spike LP like cutter 3rd point with odst or shippy spirit drop 4th point. At high level play the little things matter.
Leader points are unlocked purely by XP. You do get some XP just for time passing(1.4/sec). The reason all of your friends get leader points at the exact same time is because in teams, all of your teammates and you share the same XP bar. You all contribute and work with the same progression. You will always be in sync on leader points with your teammates.
It applies to units that have specific projectile weapon types. Jackrabbit and Douglas spartan are the ones that are primarily abused for this. Others don't matter so much.
Yes, but keep in mind you only gain XP for the first 5 times for each building type. Some people do this to rush a game-winning 5th point. It doesn't work as well as you might think, though, and is usually best saved for a meme game or if you're desperate and close to the next point.
Flamehogs really hurt her T2, and a lot of her powers aren't great. She has a lot of unit drops and stuns, but overall nothing as good as other UNSC leaders. No heavy metal, no combat salvage, etc
Thanks for featuring me on your channel!
No worries mate, it's a shame it didn't get more views... but I think it'll do better as time goes on, as people search for a guide 🫡
@@EdGreenallGames Can we expect Rock to join you guys for some videos?

Im curious to hear Sean's tips and guide. And by curious I mean absolutely ignore what he says and go double gen first.
Gen armory gen

More guides coming soon, for builds as well so they'll help you play online
Very well put together video. Thank you to both you and Rock.
He forgot pieman's 3rd law: dont gen on a mini
There's a time and place for Mexican gens. I do it all the time on maps where the mini is somewhat safe
@@seanisgone id rather put a mega turret on a mini ngl
As somebody who just plays against AI (cause I am not confident in pvp) this will help me have some courage when I try to do pvp in halo wars.
If you need some courage, ask Sean, he's got plenty to go around
Just go all air that should get your courage up
You can vs AI online with others too btw

Yeah I had no clue about that little detail about veterancy. Even with my few years of playing still surpised to learn a few things.
Yeah, it's easy to miss. The whole staying still thing is actually a bug that never got patched 😅
I never knew that you could cancel a Spartan hijack or the leader powers dropping to the NE
I thought Sean would be narrating this. He is the bestest most special boi at HW2
He gets enough air time as it is

Thank you bro so much help I was wondering how to queue up commands forever
i wanna learn optimal build orders
There's a banished leader guide as well as some specific leader guides on the channel
This game is a masterpiece
It's quite good.
Im a newish player to halo wars and this actually helped thank you :) still have yet to win a match 🤣
need to do the same vid with keyboard commands now
Almost nobody plays on keyboard and mouse, but it is something I've thought about
Funny cause i just looked at Andys controller/mouse tips yesterday and now i get this today. Now you're just telling me to get good
Rockgen is telling you to get good, actually
@EdGreenallGames you shared it so you're telling me too, actually
Need to know more about all units that can reset attack animations lol
I'm not entirely sure how many units can do it, but i do know some are easier than others

Jackrabbit double tap
Anders Douglas fast rockets
Melee building killers (jpb, goliath)

It's not my video, issues with style and any other production related questions should be directed to Mr Rockgen.
I didn't personally expect this to be a super useful video but I don't think I knew a single one of those tips
I hope that Halo wars 2 had a lot of players. Hopefully game pass core will bring some more.
Yeah. It's serendipitous that's happened at the same sort of time
Awesome video!!
Just learned a lot thx now I can definitely beat maximums wins and jamalia
Gotta love how most of these are just being aware of bugs / dev oversights :(
You're not wrong, that is quite depressing 🫠

When you recycle a base, do you need to recycle individual pads or can you just recycle the entire base and get the same refund/xp?
That's a good question, I always recycle the individual buildings, but I'm not 100% That's necessary
Individual pads, turrets, etc and then also the base. Ideally at the last second

Not for any relevant reason I don't think.

Ok i have a question first of all i didn't even know they was a thing called fire rate on the game and secondly does that apply to all units?

3 v AI with me sometime?
Is building units one of the op tips? I haven’t watched yet but if it isn’t I will be disappointed
It definitely helps, ngl
Cant i just abuse my XP by building and destructing and rebuilding and destructing... my own same mini base over and over?
Yes, but keep in mind you only gain XP for the first 5 times for each building type. Some people do this to rush a game-winning 5th point.

Redline hornets/vultures is pretty good. Flamewall is good against anti air as well
@nicholasperry2302 she's very strong late game. Her t2 might be the worst in the game though.
