A stunning new animation, and great to finally see some new interior flooding animations which were truly chilling. The improvement in the water quality on previous animations is fantastic. It was interesting to see that at the end, the fourth funnel does not collapse when the ship breaks up - and the entire stern section seems to stick up at a very high angle before the final plunge similar to the '97 movie - in recent years I thought it had been agreed that this did not happen and such a high angle was ony reached in the last few seconds.

I walked through Project 401 the other night for the first time and was like a kid in a candy store. Your projects are historically groundbreaking. The fact I could explore an early 1900’s ship I’ve loved my entire life as if I was there is so immensely surreal. Thank you so much for doing what I dreamed someone of doing forever. Letting me live the dream of experiencing that great piece of engineering.
There are a bunch of real time sinking videos, but I think this is my favorite because the animation is the best and the narrators are terrific. You guys really did a great job. It must’ve been a lot of work. It’s a tragic event, it’s hard to be excited about it, but this is just such a great record. RIP to all those lost.
One of the most haunting animations of the final plunge I've seen since I started watching these anniversary livestreams in June of 2020, I was actually startled when the glass dome shattered and water began poring in from above, even though I knew it was coming the animation of it left me in shock. Well done all of you 👏🏼
i honestly did not expect you guys to straight up recreate some of the 1997 movie shots in this animation and it honestly put me a smile, this was such a good animation, my only complain is that Harold Bride who fell under collapsible B was not recreated (at least, i didn't saw him)
111 years had passed, and Titanic is STILL remembered for her tragic fate (likely because of the 1997 movie), even though there actually were disasters worse than it, such as the forgotten but deadly Wilhelm Gustloff sinking, which had over 9000 deaths compared to Titanic's 1600+. Graphics are a nice improvement compared to the original video.
Been joining James' lives since 2020 and found you through him. I'm so glad you have this up since I didn't watch it live (though I had it on mute to enjoy the animation, it was stunning). All of your guys' work on this is phenomenal.
I loved the way you showed the sinking. As a titanic fan for life. Im glad that people 111 years later we are still honoring the lives that were lost. May there story’s never be forgotten
The best part for me was the showing of the californian and the view it could have had of titanic. Thank you so much for this. I wondered my whole life how it could have looked. Keep it going
Incredible work, and it keeps getting better and better every year. Already looks this great, imagine what this might look like five years from now or two years from now.
Thank you SO MUCH for this! I'd never realised so much time passed before the first distress call was sent or the first lifeboat was lowered. Also didn't know that Land of Hope and Glory was one of the pieces played by the band. Thank you!
God lads, ye did an amazing job with this, there are so many fantastic eery shots used , love the overhead shot looking down as the bridge goes under, and that distant shot after the break up is very eery.
Thanks again THG team for another year of amazing work. The only feedback I can think of (because everything else is perfect ; ) ) is that the sound is kind of low. That's all. Looking forward to next year!
Thomas Andrews was the Harland and Wolff naval architect who inspired me to become a naval architect and shipbuilder. You wonder what was going through his mind when he was spotted running up the grand staircase 3 steps at a time? We do flooding calculations to make sure that the ship does not sink below the margin line. So, as you say, once he knew how many adjacent compartments were flooded, especially in the forward part of the ship, the only uncertainty in his mind was how long it would take to sink. Fortunately the design of the watertight compartments meant that the ship stayed on a relatively even keel which enabled most of the lifeboats to be launched even very late in the disaster. Ships with longitudinal watertight bulkheads like the Lusitania and Titanic’s later sister Britannic tended to capsize if damaged from a collision or from one side. This made it difficult or impossible to launch the boats and speeded up the sinking. Surprisingly this was serious problem for the much more recent Costa Concordia. If she had been designed like the Titanic she would probably have survived! So Titanic was a good design when you think about it, but she was run by people with staggering hubris. Smith was very experienced with ice conditions and he and his senior officers knew there was a risk in running at full speed in the conditions could see and feel. So why did they take such an unnecessary risk? I guess we’ll never know for sure but there are plenty of theories. Titanic will never be forgotten by naval architects, but it seems the unfolding events you illustrate and describe make sure that it will never be forgotten my human civilization. We’ll done guys! We need a new movie. The 1998 Titanic was so disrespectful, more like a romantic romp than a serious attempt to conjure up the passenger’s and crew’s experience. The film totally misses the nightmare aspect of the final plunge because Cameron has no subtlety and no poetry just noise, action, lights like his other action movies. It also misses the reported experience of people in the water and on the boats after the sinking. It’s a hugely important aspect of the story so much so that you could ditch the first half of Cameron’s movie and follow the survivors story through to the morning rescue and even through to the events in New York when various actors got hold of the story. What do you think.
I stayed up all night to watch it, as I live in the uk, with the time difference it can make it heard to watch the yearly ones from the USA but I thought this year I would do it I am so pleased I did very well done
I'm the great great nephew of Thomas Jubilee Mayzes, my great Grandfather's Brother. He was a stoker, (fireman). He survived the incident. Assumed to have been on lifeboat three. We surmise that his shift was probably over, and so he was assigned to assist passengers onto lifeboats... Then helped crew the #3 as a matter of duty... He didnt live a very long life afterwards. I hope with all my heart that he was honorable and survived by legitimate means...
Amazing work! My 4 year old son really enjoys watching. He likes to reenact the scenes with his toy Titanic that we purchased from the Titanic museum ;he’s been 3 times so far!
I woke up early to watch your video. Do you know it was the day before Easter. Anyway I watched the video, it was so heartbreaking, words can't describe how you feel while watching her sinking, while watching more than 1500 people dying. I'm not sure if I can watch it again next year! Thank you very much for this video and for sharing this day with us. The video was amazing and full with all details. Titanic 111 year anniversary.
I am crying... I can't help feel sorry for all those lost souls, and their families that had to get over this tragedy. May God bless them all. Thank you again for showing us the Titanic in all her glory and his she died. Love from Mexico City.
Beautiful work. From what I've seen, images on youtube, the ship is shown breaking apart above water. But from reports back then it went dowb whole and I believe these reports. Thank you for showing it this way.
In the animation is very good to see the correct break of the hull. The hull broke in just before and below of the 3rd Funnel, because below of the 3rd funnel were the boiler rooms 1 and 2 on the tank top and just behind of them was the high engine room.
A welcome novelty to see that all the portholes are not lit. I always thought that that made no sense. Ruth Becker said that all the lights had been on, but she can’t have been speaking literally.
3:37:36 Titanic cries out for her final time. "My passengers, I have tried my hardest to stay afloat. The time has come, I cannot hold it anymore, I'm too tired." It's almost like the ship snapping in half was like the ship was sacrificing it's heaviness just so that it could keep everyone out of the water as long as it possibly could. "Titanic wasn't just a ship... she had life." - Myself.
Cameron’s movie sinking is almost 90% to how honour and glory animated the updated sinking sequences. I always wondered if the officers just threw anyone on the lifeboats, women, kids and men would make it allot less chaos to fill those lifeboats
Yeah after many years of different theories applied, I was surprise to see that this one is closely resembled to Cameron's knowledge and the information they had at the time in 1995-1997 in preproduction of Titanic 1997, I'm looking forward to the next Titanic with James Cameron documentary and see if James have a new theory and put it into newest animation. I think Cameron's Titanic 1997 was almost correct, the only parts he wasn't aware of at the time, were the list, and didn't rise up to over 40 degree (stern rise) and the breaking in half happened in front of 3rd funnel, not inbetween 3rd and 4th funnel, so it is now like, back to being closer to the same as Titanic 1997.
I've said it before and I'll say it again; jaw-droppingly ASTOUNDING WORK went into this project, AND IT SHOWS!!!! TAKE A BOW, everyone!👏👏👏👏👏/5 Not sure if it would have been stopped or not, but if I was on that ship, I might have considered using a table as a floatation device (desperate times / desperate measures.)
Thank you so much for this amazing and sadly beautiful animation and your thoughtful, knowledgeable commentary. Those text boxes in particular were wonderful and welcome. All the work into researching and sourcing the music was sensational. Looking at the lifeboat statistics is quite shocking, to learn how under capacity all of them were - some incomprehensibly so. I would appreciate anyone putting me in the direction of any more specific work you have done on the lifeboats and who was in each one and what they did or did not do to try to help others. Or if this might be something you tackle in the future? Thanks for all your wonderful work!

All but one survivor who noticed the funnel claimed to see it submerge standing. Even the exception said that the funnel was in the water when it fell; pushed back by the rising water.
Great stream. Really enjoyed it. The audio levels were quite out of whack, especially when interior water shots were being shown. Maybe lower it for commentary version and as it is just for the animation video. I look forward to next year :)
Carpathia was not the only ship, that was coming to help Titanic. It was just the first. For example: Birma eventually reached the given coordinates at 7:30 am, but realised the position given by Titanic must be incorrect because of the large amount of pack ice in the vicinity; they were still 13 nautical miles from where Titanic actually sank. Birma's telegraphy room picked up messages from RMS Carpathia reporting that they had rescued Titanic survivors, and Birma offered supplies. The response from Carpathia was "shut up". - from wiki
I didn't like that they put in caption 'Carpathia was the only ship that rush to Titanic's rescue' Carpathia wasn't the only one. Many officers at RMS Olympic worked under Captain Smith when he captained RMS Olympic for full year before Titanic was ready for her maiden voyage and he was transferred to RMS Titanic, RMS Olympic wanted to come and rescue the lives onboard of her sister ship, but I'm not sure WHO but Olympic officers were told to NOT come and rescue Titanic and give them PTSD of being on identical ship to the sunken Titanic, which make sense yes, but Carpathia wasn't the only one that was coming to rescue, many other ships WANTED to come but they were either too far away or, in RMS Olympic's case, too identical to RMS Titanic. But big shame to the captain of SS Californian, closest ship just able to see the distress rockets and ignored it, could have rescued many more than 1600 lives loss.
Every time i see the sink i start to cry. Feel so bad for those people trying to survive in vain... anyway thank you for this accurate representation of a terrible moment in navy history.
Many thanks for the Livestream and new animation. Please make a Livestream in the next year again. The next year is interesting for a new live stream because: the next year has a number of the year interval, which can also be read in the year 1912 if the 9 is removed. The next year will be a leap year like 111 years ago, and the sequence of the weekdays will then be identical to 1912.

Love the stream and the music. Watching the ship sailing in daylight and looks amazing along with the music.
This "game" was made with passion and heart..! My sincere congratulations! I'm waiting for you on Steam!
Well done all of you 👏🏼
Many thanks for this livestream. Incredible animation. Amazing details provided. We appreciate all you do.
Great work guys! Especially the break up scene! It was really terrifying. Overall great work and well animated.
i honestly did not expect you guys to straight up recreate some of the 1997 movie shots in this animation and it honestly put me a smile, this was such a good animation, my only complain is that Harold Bride who fell under collapsible B was not recreated (at least, i didn't saw him)
harold bride has one of the craziest survival stories. him and the baker. charles joughin
Sadly I couldn't catch the live as it was in the middle of the night for me, but glad I can still watch it today. RIP all those who perished.
The most realistic I've yet seen from THG, amazing work!
it’s so amazing now seeing the live chat when the ship splits. the comments were rolling in!
Absolutely sensational! So imaginatively done - the final sequence is really horrific!
Thank you!
What an astonishing effort by you guys. So well done, in every aspect. Phenomenly sad and sobering watch. Thank you.
Lovely stream! See you all next year!
God lads, ye did an amazing job with this, there are so many fantastic eery shots used , love the overhead shot looking down as the bridge goes under, and that distant shot after the break up is very eery.
Incredible tribute gentlemen. Much respect. I really love the 401 numbers written on a propeller blades. Amazing devotion to details...
This simulation just gets more amazing. Some crazy intense shots. Thank you!
Thanks again THG team for another year of amazing work. The only feedback I can think of (because everything else is perfect ; ) ) is that the sound is kind of low. That's all. Looking forward to next year!
Good job! The animation gets better every year.
I don’t understand how collapsible D was lowered less than half full with just 20 mins remaining. It’s crazy
I stayed up all night to watch it, as I live in the uk, with the time difference it can make it heard to watch the yearly ones from the USA but I thought this year I would do it I am so pleased I did very well done
Great stream as always! Looking forward to many more future updates!
Absolutely amazing! I was there for most of the stream and loved every minute
I hope with all my heart that he was honorable and survived by legitimate means...
titanic 111th anniversary. #neverforget 🙏💐
A beautifully put together tribute as always, well done and thank you THG team.
Thank you for this extraordinary stream. Bravo!
It was nice to be able to see the live stream. Such details.
Lovely stream great work and see you all next year thanks for all
3:37:36 Titanic cries out for her final time. "My passengers, I have tried my hardest to stay afloat. The time has come, I cannot hold it anymore, I'm too tired."
It's almost like the ship snapping in half was like the ship was sacrificing it's heaviness just so that it could keep everyone out of the water as long as it possibly could.
Here and in Cameron's versions, the ship loses it's lights at different moments.
I've said it before and I'll say it again; jaw-droppingly ASTOUNDING WORK went into this project, AND IT SHOWS!!!! TAKE A BOW, everyone!👏👏👏👏👏/5
Not sure if it would have been stopped or not, but if I was on that ship, I might have considered using a table as a floatation device (desperate times / desperate measures.)
I'm only a little while into it, but I'm really enjoying this commentary version
I begged my family to go to the titanic museum today. I just now knew that the ship sunk 111 years ago today. Wow. Weird coincidence 😅.
Incredible and terrifying recreation. Well done guys.
Συγχαρητήρια για την καλή δουλειά! Κάθε χρόνο γίνεται όλο και καλύτερο. Συνεχίστε!
Cant wait until the Main real time upload
Thank you so much for this amazing and sadly beautiful animation and your thoughtful, knowledgeable commentary. Those text boxes in particular were wonderful and welcome. All the work into researching and sourcing the music was sensational. Looking at the lifeboat statistics is quite shocking, to learn how under capacity all of them were - some incomprehensibly so. I would appreciate anyone putting me in the direction of any more specific work you have done on the lifeboats and who was in each one and what they did or did not do to try to help others. Or if this might be something you tackle in the future? Thanks for all your wonderful work!
I missed this because I'm European. Nice gift to wake up to!
Well done guys, for the time and effort you put into this video!!!
111 Aniversario Titanic 🙏🏻💐
Thank you very much…the detail is awesome!!!
beautiful stream as always! see you darlings next year :)
mans really said 'spoiler alert: it sinks.' 🤣
i appreciate the inclusion of the souls evac'ed/still on board.
Titanic the ship of dreams now the Ship of a deadly nightmare and a haunting memory.
Greetings from Berlin Germany.
Late in the Night i realize, that the live Strem starts NOT at 23:40 GERMAN TIME XD so i tooked it to the next day
GREAT WORK. I did not expekt to see the californian and the carpathia.
Anyway off Topic: In the reason of you´r work i decided to take the sinking of the SS Atlantic in April the first, 1873, to play a little part on the Red Dead Redemption- Fanfiktion, that i am working on. No big Deal, but also by Sam, from Historic Travels, i choosed to give that Ship a little side faktor.
Greetings from me
Chris, watching your work from Berlin, Germany
Looking forward to this year's version ❤❤❤
What happened to the livestream of the 111th anniversary of Rms Titanic Sinking by Part Time Explorer!
the final 8 minutes are nuts
I always love your walkthrough of the sinking each year. Though one slight criticism of this one is that there were a lot of monents where you guys were more focused on the animation rather than the events taking place, causing more events to be missed than in prior years
I ABSOLUTELY REALLY WHAT TO SAY THANK YOU TITANIC HONOR AND GLORY FOR EVERY YEAR FOR THE LIVESTREAMS FOR THE UNSINKABLE RMS TITANIC EVERY ANNIVERSARYS I HAVE BEEN INTO THE UNSINKABLE RMS TITANIC SINCE I WAS 5 YEARS OLD AND I AM 35 YEARS OLD I AM ABSOLUTELY PROUD TO BE PART OF THE UNSINKABLE RMS TITANIC COMMUNITY
Depuis mon enfance l'histoire du Titanic m'a fasciné. Certainement par la beauté du paquebot, son peu de temps d'existence, les histoires qui ont entouré cette tragédie et la musique qui a accompagné son agonie
This was incredibly interesting I fell asleep through half only because of the time difference I struggle to stay awake but the whole program is just interesting I am a distance relative of a second class passenger jhon Henry Chapman his watch is in the Liverpool museum I've tried and tried to find more information but really don't know where to start from again extremely interesting
HONOR Y GLORIA!!! ❤❤❤
Honneur et gloire.
Just stunning and moving. Thankyou.
Watching the virtual sinking of a ship that was described as virtually unsinkable
Something that had to chilling. Was the clear sky and calm waters.
I WAS CRYING/ROWING ALL THE THE TIME TO SEE THE VIDEO
Do yourself a favor and turn off chat replay if you are watching this vod. What a bunch of entitled whiners. Great animation and I appreciate your commentary.
Rest in peace titanic
I never knew that the Titanic Fourth Funnel was still there even after the break up 😮
All but one survivor who noticed the funnel claimed to see it submerge standing.
The length of time for the stern to sink! Wow!
Great job ! Thanks for all
Carpathia was not the only ship, that was coming to help Titanic. It was just the first. For example:
Birma eventually reached the given coordinates at 7:30 am, but realised the position given by Titanic must be incorrect because of the large amount of pack ice in the vicinity; they were still 13 nautical miles from where Titanic actually sank.
Next year is the April 15th a Monday too (two weeks after the Easter Monday).
I just read that Harold Bride happened to know and be good friends with the wireless operator on the Carpathia, and his name was also Harold. Small world, especially back then.
