I’m really glad he had a chance to be this version of himself again before he passed. To show everyone what he was capable of that hadn’t seen it before. True musical genius.
Van Halen did something else a lot of bands can't do,when Dave split and Sammy came on board they changed the sound to fit Sammy instead of trying to be van Halen without Dave they became van Halen with sammy
It's a disease.. a deep throat cancer.. deep.. nobody knows.. everybody could have it.. it happens, and he try and try, keep strong years by years.. As like as covid19.. everyone could got it.. God bless.. very nice, very good art.. bye Eddie, we love You.. let it be.. 😭
I spent that much on my latest Acustic Guitar, if you throw in the $125.00 Case & other: Guitar Strap,2 sets.of Strings & Tuner! But, if you were talking about Eddie, he was like the best ( they said) when I first heard him!!!
I fell in love with Van Halen clear back in 1978 when I was 14. I remember it like it was yesterday, yet it's hard to believe it's been that long ago- I'm now 58. Wow, where has the time gone? I will NEVER tire of VH- I've been through the Dave era and the Van Hagar era as they happened ( love them both) and they still remain one of my favorite bands to this day!! My generation is for sure the rock n'roll generation- we had the best of times , for sure and it never gets old! Even the younger generations love our music! Eddie is my favorite guitarist, his musical talent was truly BEYOND amazing and he could play that guitar like he was making love to it. The music flowed through him like sweet magic, he and his guitar became one. I cried watching this...hard to believe he is gone from this Earth. What a sad, sad day that was for sure but he will always be remembered and cherished forever!

To me, he was saying goodbye to the fans. He didn't know when, but he of course knew his health conditions were complicated. I'm missing Eddie everyday more and more.
I have seen Van Halen 13 times in concert since 1988. This show here was the final one and one of my favorites. Thanks for the memories fellas... RIP Eddie
Cmon how does that still be fresh all these years later...1st concert Raleigh NC 1979.. 2 more times 1980 and 1983... Many videos and listens on LPs... Still blows my mind he invented and mastered the styling...an event in music only EVH was sent to do...
This man had so much talent and skill. Honestly who could make harmonics scream like that? He had so many techniques he perfected and he enjoyed sharing it. RIP.
Beautiful solo, he made the guitar sound like a violin, there is no one like him, he was a musical genius, never took lessons, learned by ear, amazing.
When I heard that he died October 6th 2020 I cried what a loss he was such a great Master at making music I especially will miss him he created music that I'll never be able to create he's played over 50 years if I played 100 years I could still don't get as good as any Van Halen he was number one No Doubt

Everyone was so in awe of his tapping technique - and rightly so - that sometimes we overlooked what an incredibly clean picking technique he had. Amazing. There will never be another one like him.
RIP Eddie. Thank you for making my life as a teenager growing up in the 1980's so memorable and enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your talent, music and life with the world. God Bless you, Sir. You will be missed.
In the early 80’s I discovered Van Halen and bought every album up until 88 or 89 when I joined the service. When I got out and went home all my albums had been stolen. One of these days I’m gonna buy em all again. Including Hagar era albums. Purely for Eddies guitar genius. RIP EVH….
I saw Van Halen the same year. I too was glad to see Eddie clean and sober after his troubles just a few years prior. Fans are greedy, we always want more. But I’m glad he seemed to get everything together in his last years. At least that’s how I prefer to remember him.

Amazing. Nearly nothing Ed's using is from his early days and yet it sounds...just like Ed! Gotta love this guy. He'll kick your ass with the coolest playing without breaking a sweat, and with a smile. Totally changed the game for guitarists forever.
so was Eddie. he never quit playing drums; he just said Al was BETTER. drums were the first instrument he taught Wolfgang. Even crazier, Al said he left all the songwriting to Ed, half implying that Edward at least sketched out the drum parts and Al would just flesh them out. Ed plays electronic drums on the bonus track "Crossing Over" with Al overdubbed on an acoustic kit. Ed played bass on all of the albums produced at 5150, then taught Mikey the grooves for their live shows. Consider that the band put out 10 consecutive platinum albums, a feat unmatched by anyone else, and Eddie was THE songwriter! No wonder Al said without Ed there is no Van Halen!
"Eddie can play!" Remember that quote from the early 1980s? Eddie earned his place along side Django, Chet, Les, Chuck, Wes and Jimi on Electric Guitar's "Mt. Rushmore." Well done, Eddie! RIP.
That new guitar 🎸 looks good! Mozart for the Guitar 🎸! Our Mozart! He will be missed! There’s no one coming around to improve on this legacy! This is it! There’s nobody better! RIP Eddie Van Halen
You got that right music isnt what it once was. Everything now is garbage. All the greats are dying off faster and faster. Two of my favorites Neil Peart and Eddie Van Halen. So sad. We are living in a weird time where the changes are so uncertain and uncharted.
Life doesn’t seem fair sometimes. Like how Eddie could have been taken away from us way too soon. But then I think how lucky I am in life to have had Eddie hit the scene and play with such passion and fire and lit a fire under so many of us guitar players. Thank you for the music Eddie. Rest In Peace. You are SO missed!
The coolest aspect of this is that Mr. Van Halen is so comfortable on stage, as he has been there for so long, that it is like he is playing in his living room.
Van Halen and MTV practically raised me . As a budding musician they also were so intrinsic to my progress and deeply defined my childhood/preteen through teen years as a person. VH's 1984 album blew me away when it came out, and helped me through some very difficult years as a great distraction and kind of a soundtrack of my life during that time. Thank you so much Eddie for your HUGE impact upon guitar playing and to VH, music as a whole! You guys are phenomenal!
Same vibe always positive every time I listened to all of their songs a cool feeling of peace and freedom and joy came to my ears a very cool band all of the van Halen members are geniuses that's van Halen
My first concert...VanHalen @ the old Civic Arena here in "Da' Burgh".Was 1982. Saw Him do this (almost) Exactly 30 years ago! Thank God,and God Bless Him...still rockin!!! My man
First of all I gotta say that Wolfgang's face is a spitting image of Valerie Bertinelli (mother). Also that Eddie was the greatest and most difficult guitarist 2 cover in all his talents and skills. 2 do so requires months and possibly years of practice, patience, perseverance and dedication. He's not an easy showman 2 follow. I am 67 yrs old and have been trying since I was n my early 20s to master Eruption along with a great deal of other difficult Eddie talents. There is one in particular that I know how 2 play, but because of the crazy stretchy licks that are required, I quite often get an awful pain on the inner part of my left wrist. I believe it's somewhat similar 2 what maybe mistaken 4 Carpel Tunnel. In my case it's just due 2 the immense stress on my fingers 2 play that particular one. Oh well, RIP 2 the late great Eddie Van Halen. I will continue 2 play my red/black/white striped series guitar until I join him😇🙏🏼🎸🎶🎵

I was fortunate to be at this show … and about 8 other VH shows in my life. They never failed to impress me, and take me to a happy place. Thanks for all the great memories and vibes! Rest easy King Edward 🎸
And to think, I could play all his songs and do most tricks. Heck Van Halen was probably one of my first Paid concerts other than Rush, Zeppelin ,and Floyd. Sure miss this guy. All you guys. Hell I still have 6 guitars a bass and a piano. This’ll never get old. Bless you #Wolfgang Thanks
Absolutely awesome video .He was the greatest guitar player and there will never be anyone like him. He always gave us his heart and soul. Truly missed.
People, are going to be triggered, but I think he stopped innovating around ‘83 or so. This is NOT to say he had to continue doing so; he didn’t. He made a MASSIVE mark on the guitar playing community as well as inspiring millions to play and that’s indisputable. And I always loved his playing. Before you lose your minds and insult, one persons opinion isn’t worth your time if you disagree. RIP, Eddie.
it's still amazing after all these years. When Eddie was playing Frankenstein, it was astounding. Now with the custom rig, it must be so easy for him after playing this solo set for 30+ years. Either way, having seen and heard him live several times, I applaud you EVH, for you are the Mozart and Beethoven of the guitar of this generation, as well as a cancer survivor and God knows how many parties. Love ya man!!
WOW so Gosh Darn hard to believe this happened 8 years ago. I can remember when I first heard Running With The Devil followed by Eruption killing the radio stations !! Seems like yesterday >> EDDIE WILL LIVE FOREVER !!

RIP.

35 years since my first VH concert, and he's still searing my brain. Genius, Eddie.
I was fortunate to be at this show … and about 8 other VH shows in my life. They never failed to impress me, and take me to a happy place. Thanks for all the great memories and vibes!
Rest easy King Edward 🎸
the Maestro is gone
the Music is here to atay
Grazie Edward
endless love & support from 🇮🇹
And to think, I could play all his songs and do most tricks. Heck Van Halen was probably one of my first Paid concerts other than Rush, Zeppelin ,and Floyd. Sure miss this guy. All you guys. Hell I still have 6 guitars a bass and a piano. This’ll never get old. Bless you #Wolfgang Thanks
And then with a tear in your eye you realize it was never about Dave or sammy
Absolutely awesome video .He was the greatest guitar player and there will never be anyone like him. He always gave us his heart and soul. Truly missed.
It's a real joy to see Eddie playing sober. This is one of the best I've seen. Keep rockin! ! ! !
And new shoes.
RIP, Eddie.
No dis-agreements my way girl -
Absolutely Amazing...
He was such a bad ass player
it's still amazing after all these years.
Cancer survivor :(
@@Ahaok34 Right!? Bummer. I loved the guy.
Every time I see a Evh video post I have to watch it and this one is amazing 👏 God I love and miss him so much ❤
WOW so Gosh Darn hard to believe this happened 8 years ago. I can remember when I first heard Running With The Devil followed by Eruption killing the radio stations !! Seems like yesterday >> EDDIE WILL LIVE FOREVER !!
