Just installed my set for my 21 STI, thank you very much for this video! The lengthiest part was taking off the bumper lol. Broke most of my clips, but I ordered a bunch of replacement clips knowing I’d break a few.
John thanks buddy!! The Morimoto's are definitely super nice!! Man, I needy you to come up and do an android HU install for me haha, I've had a few offers but I don't think I can commit to doing the actual installation especially wanting to keep my steering controls etc.
I want the subiespeed housing with the led but dont want to buy that kit and then buy other bezel especially that this kit is over 350$ in canada and the subiespeed beezel is 270$ i dont wanna spend over 600$ for fogs.. I just want the wiring harness and the fogs is that possible?
Simple and to the point tutorial 👌 I got a 2021 STI and just ordered the fog kit. May I ask why you have a glove under the negative wire while working? Any tips or advice foe me is appreciated. I have never taken off this bumper but after a few videos, seems doable with one person. TIA!
Hey ninja that ballast that you put on zip ties has a spot the back of the bumper it faces the back just need washers the back so it's looks clean. The holes are right above the fog light Another UA-camr shows where it goes.
AHAHAHAHA, @8:08 I like how you guys are putting the bumper back on without that foam piece. I totally made the same mistake when i put on my bezels :)
In, all seriousness somebody needs to make these Bezels with the honeycombs being holes. That would be both functional and sick looking. Also, LED strip, because why NOT!
brandon b they definitely add lighting the way you’d want and expect from fog lights! (So it’s a nicer lower level wide beam pattern) Good for foggy / rainy / snowy conditions etc.!!
Installed these using the sidelight circuit on my 2018 WRX S208, the bezel's mock carbon-fibre finish matches the rest of the car. I was going to drill out the existing wire-fronted bezels, but they would have cut the beam off horizontally. My local Subaru dealer helped me and put in a small, illuminated push-button switch that I got at the local car shop, above the SRVD Off switch, so I can control the lights fully. It would be handy to include a section of video showing how to correctly focus the lights.
so, uh.. how do you control the lights? you never installed a switch anywhere? also ive heard that on a wrx they tape a harness for fog lights to the drl wire, i am going to investigate this claim myself as i have a 18 wrx base. not sure if it would be the same for an sti or not, but i dunno why it wouldnt.
The Foglights in this 2018 STI kit are connected with the lowbeams, so they're on during normal driving (notice the fuse connection in the install). Yes - You can find DRL Harnesses out there for both the C Lights/ Foglights/ etc. as DRLs.
I don't honestly even know why Subaru decided to make the 2018 STI option without foglights. I would guess something to do with the bigger Brembo brakes, and they just made the cover have a small opening for "airflow" - But realistically, I bet the difference is negligible. The bumper literally has the HOLE and opening for the foglight!!! It's ready for foglights, but they just left it out.
Possibly due to the adoption of steering responsive headlghts, though they still don't illuminate so well on corners. Doing the same install next week, now that my kit has arrived.
Ya I don't understand why they left this option off on the 2018 STI's. I just picked up a 2018 STI about a month ago, and this is one of the things that I don't like about mine.
Hey man sick setup! i was wondering if the sti came with a hidden oem fog harness on it? i remember when i did fogs on my forester xt, it came with the fog lights harness but not fogs. i ended up installing my morimotos to it. then going to the stock relay and installed stock Subaru one. Ended up getting the oem switch, just a little drilling the plate and it worked liked factory.
Not that I am aware of, it didn't come with a harness on the 2018's! Everything in the bumper is there ready for foglights (the hole, clip mounting spots, etc.) but there's no wiring or switches anywhere for it that we saw. We used the ProLightz wiring harness + relay which comes with the kit and install that. Very very easy plug-n-play!! Unfortunately Subaru left the 2018's out, for some VERY odd reason, with the foglights!!!

Is there a way to add an on/off switch for the fog lights?
You always make it look so easy
Haha thanks dude!
It comes stock on a 18 wrx limited lol
Halogen Fog lights come stock.
LED Projector Fog Lights in this video do not come stock.
The 2018 STi look pretty good 🔥
Thanks Chase! Your next ride??
NinjaxBart nawww love the 04 to much 👌
Do you happen to know the diameter of those fog light housings?
Great quality video man, those leds are popping

Is there a gap between the light and the bezel? Looks like there is on video. F there is doesn’t water get into it?
are these the Type S Morimoto XB LED Fog light V1 or Type S Morimoto XB LED Fog light V2?
I want the subiespeed housing with the led but dont want to buy that kit and then buy other bezel especially that this kit is over 350$ in canada and the subiespeed beezel is 270$ i dont wanna spend over 600$ for fogs..

Give ProLightz a call or email and see if they can hook you up with a harness, I'm pretty sure it exists.
Do you think they can sell me the package but instead of this bezel they give the drl subiespeed bezel?
The thing I missed was.. How do you turn the fog lights on? I didn't see you install a switch or tap into an existing lighting..
They run with the headlights/ low-beams, you could wire them separately on an independent switch if you wanted though.
Simple and to the point tutorial 👌

Are those LED’s under the front grill and did you do a write up on those too?
Hey bro sorry he just added them before we did this so I actually have no idea! I think they're just a generic wired LED bar into his DRLs!
Nice white tone to them
Pretty nice white LED forsure eh bro! Man I love the exhaust video you did, I need to go do one now ;) haha
hmm maybe i should get this. how is the visibility?
what brand of headlight bulbs are those? looking for white bulbs for my WRX similar to those
These are stock OEM headlights. ProLightz does have some headlight LED options however you can checkout!
Price kit
Can you provide a link to the front bumper Lip that u have.
No button to turn them on and off?
Do you have these exact same kit for base 2017 wrx? If so can you link it to me please thank you.
In your description it states that a Partner of yours is ProLightz. Do you have perhaps have a coupon code?
Sorry, I do not.
NinjaxBart that’s cool. Thanks though! I’m interested in doing this to my 18 STi as well. If I do I’ll make a vid. Currently running a light bar 🤙🏾
Hell yeah love dead links.
Should work! Sorry about that (you’re the first to comment it). Try this. www.prolightz.com/2018-sti-fog-light-package/
Fantastic video
great video mate

Beautiful car dude.
does this one fits on 2019??
It should. It's 2018-2020
Pro Lights really need to get the LED bezels as well not just the stock kit :(
They have the Bezels too for the 18's! :)
I saw the bezels but not the LED ones like they had for the 2015+. So far I've only seen those in the US.
AHAHAHAHA, @8:08 I like how you guys are putting the bumper back on without that foam piece. I totally made the same mistake when i put on my bezels :)

Okay so thoughts and opinions on actually using them? Do they help with visibilty alongside the 2019 headlights? Or is it mostly just for looks
brandon b they definitely add lighting the way you’d want and expect from fog lights! (So it’s a nicer lower level wide beam pattern) Good for foggy / rainy / snowy conditions etc.!!
@@SpencerHogg thats what i was hoping!! Its either fog bezels or the new 2020 jdm bezels. Leaning towards fogs for vis. Much cheaper too.
Showing the lights output would have been useful too.
Hard to do in daylight haha..
Nice car and good video 👌🏽 did you hook up the fog lights so that you can turn it off and on with the headlights on or not? Thanks
Joshua Salvador since he taps into the low beam circuits they should turn on with the low beams
Are those wheels 18”?? Just curious if they fit with the new brake setup????
I believe OEM 19" Wheels on the new 2018 STI's. Also stock brakes on the STI (the hyper yellow ones)
Looking fire bro 🔥

Where’s the switch install?
Nice install as always! Those look so much nicer than my stock ones in my '14!
Awesome man! Will these fit into a 2018 impreza?

NinjaxBart the fact that the bumper still has it is interesting..
Weight reduction, bruh!
thats cause the wrx comes with foglights.....same bumper, not interesting. obvious

Very nice!!! I agree!
Does this kit come with a separate switch, or do the fogs come on with the headlights?
Great vid! Is it self explanatory where you route the wiring to the fuse box and battery? Also, where did you get the lip from?
Hey man sick setup! i was wondering if the sti came with a hidden oem fog harness on it? i remember when i did fogs on my forester xt, it came with the fog lights harness but not fogs. i ended up installing my morimotos to it. then going to the stock relay and installed stock Subaru one. What's up bruh...ran cross this Japanese vloggers UA-cam WRX meet....Interesting stuff, thought I'd share. ua-cam.com/video/oayeNXWdk7A/v-deo.html
Hey....you forgot the foam piece....its still on the ground lol . :)
Simple and clean, good kit
Nice work great to see everyone can have a go
Only thing guys instead of zip tie on the relay a bolt would much better
Nice video over all
Your just going to confuse all the other STI owners, "look at that WRX with sti badges" lol
Then they hear that rumble and then they’ll all be really confused.
Somtimes subaru deosnt make any sense lol, oh well just another mod/upgrade to do, and nice vid
That bottom front grille tho... looks like shit on the ‘18...and no fog lights 😂
Haha!
Is it possible to replace the bulb of that fog lights?
Not on the LED's (but they don't burn out really like halogens would)
