- Hello! In this video, I propose my option to move the lathe with the help of my homemade product with the participation of a regular car jack! What came of it - see the video! Write! It is important for me to know your opinion and suggestions on homemade products!

Well done Brother, nice engineering. I recovered my Lathe from an old backyard shed in return for helping the owner move. I moved it up a 3 metre incline over a distance of 100 metres, across a soft lawn, then up a ramp onto the back of my truck. The lathe was originally from an old WW2 Liberty Ship. I used two small platforms made from timber and unistrut with caster wheels, fixed to the pedestal bases, and winched it with a chain block, utilizing two wide planks in a 'pick up from behind and place in front' technique. It took me 9 hours on my own. Finally loaded it in the dark and almost lost it winching, when a timber ramp started to break. Threw a temporary chock under it. Lovely old Lathe. Cleaned it up and painted it Battle Ship Grey. With your technique, you could move shipping containers as well. Top job Mate. Cheers from Michael. Australia.
Great job and that jack will come in handy. For anyone else watching that kind of jack is called a toe jack and bigger versions are used to lift shipping containers high enough for a forklift to get under them. They’re not cheap, even a little like this, so I’d have made my own as well.
I have my machines mounted on custom made pallets made out of railway sleepers and I use a pallet jack to move them around. I have never seen a lathe delivered with the floor still attached 😂😂😂. I think you have received some unfairly harsh comments. I don’t understand why people are negative or nasty, they should just say nothing. Cheers and well done. I hope you enjoy the lathe. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺
I didn’t know where you was going with this at the beginning, but in the end. Elegant yet simple.
THANK YOU. You’re one in a few. There’s always a way. Awesome job. Thanks for sharing it.
Wow best

Beautiful job! Thanks for sharing.
Wow. Well done mate
Impressionante!
11'57'' I am wondering why you don;t show the movement of the wheels on plain ground.
Awesome I need those
Why did you cut the first two sections by hand with a side grinder, when you had a horizonal band saw to cut the third?
Nice sharing sir
Ha... ha... :-) you did not show how you dragged it into the shop. That was the moment I was waiting for. Drag it inside the shop is no big deal, but those wheels you made, while look nice, would not work on the soft soil the lathe was on outside.
I was wondering how that would roll on the soft dirt.
been there sheet 5/8 plywood pry bar then when get to solid surface pieces of bar stock...never fails friends show up after the fact ..hey bro ya could have waited
@@miguelcastaneda7236 Yes, but he is not doing that in the video. He shows like if he dragged in that machine on those DIY castors through the soft surface of dirt and grass.
That’s terrific thanks
nice video except for the music
Ganz toll gemacht spitze. Gutes Andwerk👍👍👍🛠🛠🛠💪💪✅
What web site did you use to purchase the casters? Thanks
Genio
amazing little system, but no way those wheels helped you move on dirt/ ground. or did it? the video cut. I bet it was a breeze to move after you got it on concrete.
Great
That was ingenious. ! 👍
Where did the red rollers come from ?
were purchased in an online shop
Interesting project. The design and fabrication were not terribly inspiring, but I was wondering what casters you used.
Nice footage!
Love the video. Gave me some ideas for my own projects. But I have 1?. Did you have any problems with the casters sinking into the soft ground? That part was edited out. Thanks.
Yes, there were problems. We put plywood sheets under the rollers.
gyg
The power of the jack is up to TON, sir
Wao.... By las wates

You asked for comment..the real story would have been how well those twinky rollers worked in the dirt...there are lots of posts on making lifts out of bottle jacks on the net!
Muito bom 👍👍👍👍
Excelente.
Hello
Exelente
For the time you spent on making them and material you could of bought them cheaper and a higher weight load. I found them for less them 50 bucks. I've been in the rigging business for over 20 years. I know why you edited the film from when you set that down on the grass. Doesn't roll that easy.
Parabéns. Você não mostra a solda diretamente.
3:25 oh that is sketchy! no guarantee the drill bit is vertical and just is a mishap waiting to happen
👍

👌👌👌👌🇹🇷👋
Dont use the vernier to make a mark,, no respect for tools,,, make yourself a sharp marker or something.
Crap music too
Nice build however call BS on moving that in the gravel with the wheels. Straight up NONSENSE. You need to put plywood under the lathe to move in gravel dirt and know this because that is how am always moving lathes up to 1,900.00 pounds. Showing the cut to movement on concrete was ghetto. Am being harsh because you made the video on the dirt then show it on concrete.
Kmn 🤔🙄😏🤔💋👄🕳🕳🕳💨💦👓💨💫🗯🗯🗨💬💢💢💤
Or just hire a professional machine mover.....
