I love the poison typing! It's one of my favorite types and I love doing monotype with it. However, three things I would change would be giving Nidoking Life Orb over Choice Specs for another boost without being locked into moves. I'd also give scolipede a focus sash so I'd be guaranteed one SD (assuming hazards are gone). Lastly I'd give amonguss Spore over Ingrain so I can DEFINITELY take advantage of Regenerator as well as set up with another mate.
I actually didn't really like the Poison type that much till Gen 6 cuz it was basically offensively useless until Fairy type was added. Grass already had so many weaknesses, so all Poison was useful for was poisoning. But i still loved many poison type pokemon like Gengar, Crobat and Nidoking.
Typing wise yes it is, but if think deeply Normal/Poison would be amazing as well , all the possible status moves that both normal and poison types get on one pokemon is frightening~ A sham there isn't one yet.....
Man, out of all the generations, gen 5 really brought the best bug type - Accelegor, Excavalier, scolipede, Volcarona, Leavanny. I’m kinda sad that Toxicroak wasn’t on this list though. Toxicroak is great.
The whole team comp is off. I understand this is more for fun but Christ Amoonguss without Spore is actually awful. And being locked into a move with Nidoking is pretty confusing, considering it has that kinda coverage.

You ABSOLUTELY need to reconsider Nidoking's held item. Life Orb is so much better for Nidoking, as Sheer Force eliminates the HP penalty and boosts your attacks to insane levels. All pros, no cons. Also, here's another moveset for Nidoking that provides coverage against 14 types! - Earth Power (Fire, Electric, Poison, Steel, Rock) (+5) - Ice Beam (Grass, Ground, Flying, Dragon) (+4) - Focus Blast (Normal, Ice, Dark, Rock Steel) (+3) - Shadow Ball (Psychic Ghost) (+2) The only types it's not super effective against here are Water, Fighting, Bug and Fairy, and it is resistant to all but Water. Love the video Mystic, my favorite type is Poison and I have spent a lot of time making a well balanced poison team for my gym. Happy to see these videos are still going strong.
I have a much better Alolan Muk set that can easily sweep a lot of teams, Muk-Alola @ Leftovers Ability: Poison Touch EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def Adamant Nature - Minimize - Stockpile - Gunk Shot - Knock Off After 3 Minimizes it become pretty rare that Muk would be hit and if does not much damage can be dealt to Muk with it's already large defensive stats being multiplied by the 3 Stockpiles and also due to Leftovers Muk gets back a lot of HP lost when hit plus only Ground is super effective. Gunk Shot is a very heavy STAB move that hits incredibly hard and so what if it has 80% accuracy, your opponent has even less odds to hit you unless they're carrying a move like Aerial Ace. Knock Off and Poison Touch work together to ruin a time because removing a Pokemon's item can go along way and increased chance to poison your opponent with Poison Touch goes along way especially with those with abilities like Tough Claws or contact move boosts plus there's also another 30% to poison with Gunk Shot so a lot of times you're going to poisoning and taking items off whole teams while you sit at full HP.
I like his choices, but his sets were just BAD. There are so many better choices for a tanky Muk than what he listed. Good'ol Agauv Berry and recycle makes him last for freaking ever lol
Erik The Average Very much aware of that which sucks, banning stuff as trivial as evasion is stupid. Like it's a game mechanics that the people behind Pokemon clearly made possible and the opponent should be responsible for letting their opponent set up with Muk so much.

I would have given Nidoking a Life Orb. Life Orb combined with Sheer Force cancels out the recoil from the item. It gives a 30% power boost while keeping the choice between moves, allowing it to stay in if your last move doesn't do much to the current Pokémon.
Love the poison type now with all the duel typings there is now, wasn't a fan back in gen 1 was my least favourite but 20+ years of evolution has done it well

@MysticUmbreon, you should do a follow up video for each of these best teams; battling online and show us how to utilize the team to the best potential. Would be cool to see the strategies come into play and see how they stack up against other teams.
Finally i can see Scolipede. Because when i saw Scolipede during B/W play through, i feel like this Pokemon should have potential. But i feel Poison/Bug doesn't do much in Unova play through. And it's design is super badass. One of fav Bug Type

On my UsUm team i use a toxipex as a tank, with baneful bunker, toxic, venoshock and recover. Combined with merciless and leftovers, the little guy's unkillable! (Aside from steel types, but that's another story)
The only Poison types I used Venasaur Nidoking Victreebel Drapion and Alolan Muk unfortunately that is it. These are great support especially Poison and Fangs attacks.
My alolan muk on my actual team ran toxic, venoshock, knock off, and minimize. It was over powered and I ran through all of ultra moon without really needing to switch my Pokémon.
Gotta go with Life Orb over Choice Specs on Nidoking. Gives almost as good of a boost, the opportunity to switch moves, and no Life Orb recoil, because of Sheer Force. Also Ingrain keeps Amoongus from switching. Why not Leech Seed?
Seeing as Poison Type is my favourite, I was hyped when the vid dropped and I wasnt disappointed. Nice to see some Gen 5 love too. Great team and one I'll be delighted to use as a Poison Type Trainer
I’m deeply upset that Toxicroak isn’t on this list and this is coming from a guy who strictly uses Poison Types (By the way my FAVORITE Typing) for all my team members running through Ultra Moon otherwise I love the Salazzle pick which instantly became my second favorite poison type
on nidoking it was written sludge wave but you said and showed data of sludge bomb.ground type move is super effective on poision not rock but both resist poision you said it on scouridple ie.your fourth pokemon i would go with dragon pulse instead of draco meteor
Ground is not super effective against scolipede because ground is not very effective against bug. Aqua tail is good for going up against fire types though
This was very awesome. I do wish that Beedrill was the mega. Especially because of its adaptability making it so great, but Gengar is just has good, well better i just believe in Beedrill, But every other choice was awesome. Awesome video though. Can't wait for the next videos.
Kinda disappointed you didn't use the best move Amoongus can learn. Spore. Even with its low speed, he can take a hit then put the opponent to sleep, switch (Activate Regenerator), then sweep with your teammates.
Hey it’s actually crazy cuz like two weeks ago i made an all poison type team that i made bc i always thought i wanted to be a poison type gym leader so it was like my theme! And funnily enough i had almost the exact same team with the exact same moves, where the only major difference was a Toxapex instead amoongus, and a hex mega gengar set. Gotta go with Life Orb over Choice Specs on Nidoking. Gives almost as good of a boost, the opportunity to switch moves, and no Life Orb recoil, because of Sheer Force.
Also Ingrain keeps Amoongus from switching. Why not Leech Seed?
I expect Salazzle to be on the best Fire Team now.
I think toxipex or drapion should be here
So am I the only one curious why he didn’t use the move Venoshock on any of his mons on this team or is there a reason I am not understanding
Seeing as Poison Type is my favourite, I was hyped when the vid dropped and I wasnt disappointed. Nice to see some Gen 5 love too. Great team and one I'll be delighted to use as a Poison Type Trainer
I know the 252 investment makes sense but I spread that 252 into 125 when split among 3 stats. Like Muk. I would recommend that
I’m deeply upset that Toxicroak isn’t on this list and this is coming from a guy who strictly uses Poison Types (By the way my FAVORITE Typing) for all my team members running through Ultra Moon otherwise I love the Salazzle pick which instantly became my second favorite poison type
on nidoking it was written sludge wave but you said and showed data of sludge bomb.ground type move is super effective on poision not rock but both resist poision
you said it on scouridple ie.your fourth pokemon
i would go with dragon pulse instead of draco meteor
Love how this team has just one ground resistance in a game where every team has earthquake lol
Naganadel with dragon pulse over draco meteor swept some teams
This team is missing out, amoonguss doesn't have spore, where be the nihilego and **Sir Garb would like to know your location**
Just my opinion
It's funny I came up with the exact same team just wanted to see if my logic was sound.
Ground is not super effective against scolipede because ground is not very effective against bug. Aqua tail is good for going up against fire types though
Toxic can’t miss if a poison type uses it
Where's Crobat? He's fast, strong and immune to ground?
Why not eternutus? Was he already on the best dragon team?
But every other pokemon and generally their moves are the same. Great minds think alike!
Man you told sludge wave sludge bomb once.
