My name is Gerald Peplow. I am a FAA Part 107 certified UAV pilot. This video is from my series, “UAV Drone Visions.” This series documents my road to UAV Proficiency. I currently fly a registered DJI Mini 2 or Mini 3. This is my Mini 3, Cong Ming Niao (Smart Bird). Finally I have a Mavic 3 called Da Niao, Big Bird. Todqay Da Niao got to fly!
We were on a trip to Anza Borrego and stopped by here to catch the images of the Sea. It was amazing to see that all has changed so much since I was a boy. We once skied here and caught nice Corbina and Tilapia. Now the Salton Sea is dying. You can see the salt deposits from the evaporation of the water. No fresh water replaces it. You can also see the foundations of the old beach and boat docks. What was once a thriving resort is a desiccated desert town!
I was flying in Class G Airspace.
