Through My Eyes: A Travel Diary: A Horse Cart Ride on Inis Mor, Ireland
My name is Gerald Peplow. I am a FAA Part 107 certified UAV pilot. This video is from my series, “UAV Drone Visions.” This series documents my road to UAV Proficiency. I currently fly a registered DJI Mini 2 or Mini 3. This is my Mini 3, Cong Ming Niao (Smart Bird). Rebecca Peplow is my Visual Observer. This is Through My Eyes: A Travel Diary: A Horse Cart Ride on Inis Mor, Ireland. I blend images with the background sounds of the island as we ride with our giude through inis mor.
In May of 2024 we spent 3 weeks in Ireland. We Went from Belfast around the coast and back. We went through the work of getting our English and European Permissions and this is what we came up with. This is just a taste from our month on the Emerald Isle!

As it shows the brutal but important industry from the past, it also acknowledges the sad tragedy whaling was for the crew and the whales. I have included the Greenpeace Website that is endorsed by the Black Irish Band in the song. "Whaling Really Sucks!" www.blackiris...

If they dug out channels of the deposited material, the next major flood might be less destructive.
True. There is always a balance between maintenance and letting nature take her course.
I miss home so much
I love Yucaipa too ua-cam.com/video/5pUcSMZYokQ/v-deo.htmlsi=zbaTl3WN63S8tfJF
Well done Gerald, love the footage.
Or use this as a way to make it so we do not repeat history. If we don’t talk about it it will be forgotten.
give this guy coal
THANKS!!!
Thanks Gerald
Yucaipa is the bomb!
Good job. I have lived here since 1980 and love it
Very nice, wonderful pictures.. Amazing
👍 ! !!💜💜💜💜💜💜
It is a wonderful place to relax!
Did this hike today, Sunday Dec.1 2024. Couldn’t believe we only saw 4 other hikers! Wonderful place! 40 min. from Palm Springs… come on people! Take advantage of this area! Pristine indoor flush toilets! That’s right… and a free helicopter ride from the peak back to the parking lot! Ok, I made that last part up. Still a great place to hike.
Wait til you see the other Wildlands Preserves.
Great job- perfect song to use!
So true… The BlackIrish Band Rocks….
Can’t believe this is so cool. My first flights. Now 790 flights later. Wow.
This eas so cool.. i wish i could go but my cousin wanted to go to the park 😞
I lived on Hunt ranch in 93, 94. A lot of wild life and loved the seclusion. I lived in the main house. We did get bees in some of the 55 gallon barrels... the honey was so good!! But they also invested the fireplace chimney lining. I would get swarms in my master bedroom 2 to 3 times a year.
That is awesome! Maybe we can meet some day and you can tell stories.... if you still live in the area
Great pictures-
I Love it here!
Brought back many memories, having lived in Calimesa in the late '70's = thanks (great music too!)
Good place for fema homeless camp.
I just love the Gaelic Psalms. They really highlight the spirit of the video and images.
Thank you for this work, it is like a little jewel, precious and memorable. The Psalms singing in Gaelic adds a layer of mystery, evoking deep memories of our shared Celtic heritage within these isles. So moving.
By the way good job on the test and have fun. Let me know if you need more help.
You can only fly with direct permission from Headquarters and the are serious.. I am a registered volunteer. However the national forest land is open to fly as long as it is not wilderness.
Thank you for the video. I’m planning to go camp out at one of the yellow posts nearby soon. Checking all the b4ufly apps they all show unrestricted. I’m a new pilot and want to follow all the rules out there. Have taken my TRUST test and under 250grams. The Wildlands Conservancy website says drones are restricted though…do you need approval here?
So fun to find this song and have the images.
Hic Up 🥃.......my new national Anthem
The thing that sucked was that this exact day, February 23rd, I had to leave for Japan early😭
Very well done Gerald, loved it.
Gerald Peplow~ I remember it very well & I had posted some video & pictures to Facebook. I am from New York originally & I miss the snow so much. Thanks for sharing this~
Does anyone know when the "lake" will be finished, or do they have to sell "all" the houses before filling it up?
Very 🆒. 🌴❄️🌨️
It has been special weather for 2 years now! This was so fun!
Adorable little guy!
Multiple channels to funnel the saltwater brought in by the tidal flows seems to be great input for seed retention.
Reference to High Country News Article Volume 56/March 2024, Regeneration Underground by Josephine Woolington to research their unique and the Stillaguamish Tribe's sequestered approaches to such Restoration goals, using a Zen approach, or Stillaguamish reflection of the Way it was and stewarded for! Also, for the Klamath River Restoration approach, we can maybe anticipate the return of the Wapato tubers in the upland portions of the Klamath where Native Tribes utilized it for food in wetlands or natural lakes like Tule Lake.
Beautiful. And what music is being played in the video?
I’ve been by it a thousand times. Visited once. Is this how we honor? Rusted shells of vehicles. Birds nests and tumbleweeds? It’s a goddamn disgrace!
I do understand what you feel. But if you remember the inside is pristine and our warriors are well honored. So inspiring. I think the outside tank displays show the wear and tear of the natural and msn made old. They are telling their story. I wonder what these mech warriors would say if they could talk. But again, I see your perspective.
This was such an interesting place..
Good sharing
It's not free because to live there you have to pay with your soul.
well i've lived there and my soul is intact and I know how to fly a drone
Nah, the slabs it doesn’t take any currency even faustian bargains. It truly is a free place. Now if you want to do drugs out there then yeah you can buy that with your soul.
very small window into the slabs, why not show some of the positive things
Nothing positive about drug addicts making the rules.
Not really adding a judgement. It is a complicated issue. The romance of Homesteading and being independent vs the escape from society at large. If I get a chance I want to give it more depth. This was just a glimpse of the overall landscape.
This is a very narrow way to look at this clip. I saw some beautiful footage here.
😃 Promo*SM
I was in this parade
The Chicken Pot Pie is amazing and enough for 2!
Never been there but I sure want to go
I love this place!~
I agree!
At sunrise and sunset, especially, the Salton Sea is hauntingly beautiful. There is no other place like it. It must be saved.
Been there in ‘92 and 2016. Great place.
Slight correction, obsidian isn't rock, it's actually pure silica or glass. Very cool video, I somehow never knew this existed despite a lot of time exploring down there years ago.
Oh Thank You! Geology is such a complex animal... Can you watch the Mudpots Video and let me know if that is okay. Yes I did say North not South. Will Correct in the comments.
@@geraldpeplow6210 haha I certainly will, the mud pots video was on my list
North Salton Sea? As far as I'm aware, the geothermal plant and the mudpots are at the south side of the Salton Sea.
Thjank you. I have updated the comments!
