      brother i am Australian and if i can play both didgeridoo and djembe you can too ;). a functional didg can be made out of a few lengths of pipe and some wax. it might not sound like those in this video but it will get you close.

    For me it just sounds like beatboxing through a didgeridoo. Atleast in my opinion this is not the strength of a didgeridoo. Its like as if i would beatbox through a flute, which some people do, but it doesnt demonstrate the full capability of a flute, since it is not designed for beatboxing and therefor it sounds weird to me. But eventually when this developes more over the time, maybe it will show some potential combined with beatbox.

    • @masterploxis

    beatboxers have a natural affinity with the didge, but they have to be careful not to use it purely as something to beatbox through. still great … but the didge itself has to be the prime character of the instrument to make the most of it.

    you know. the worlds first didge player was more than likely also the worlds first beatboxer, as the skills required are the same. the didge is used as an amplifier and resonator.

    Mattisyahooooooo on da dizzzzier than you... its pretty cool sounding actually. I played it through a pair of 12” subs in a tline enclosure in an SUV with the crossover bandwidth opened up to 250ish. the ‘tube’ shapes echoinglike higher resonances are really defined playing through like that as the mids grab on to those notes kinda seperating (defining them more?) from the tubes own lower exit frequency??

    Competition seems odd for this instrument, but that’s what happens when it’s introduced to competitive cultures.

    • @AnonYmous-hp6uu
      @AnonYmous-hp6uu 6 років тому

      Why would it seem odd? Every culture has competitions of some form or another. It is human nature. You don't think a couple old aborigines have ever sat down on a hickory stump and said boy let me tell ya what. I bet you didn't know but I'm a didge a playa too, and if you care to take a dare, I'll bet that i'm better than you.
