Wow, why would they travel back in time? I guess maybe they abduct people to study the bodies of ancient humans, but playing with time is dangerous. What if you dissect your own grandpa...what if you kill the human that's a direct ancestor to the guy that invented time travel.

personally i beleve the universe is very supportive of life, every solar system is likely to have it. as for the fermi paradox, you have to keep in mind scale, and the rarity of the jump to inteligence
I think it is much more likely that "humans" were created on this planet from half alien half native primate. that is where the striking pysiological difference between us, and the other primates on this planet, our shoulders are completely different, we have thicker skin on front, they have thicker on back, our 2 fused cromozomes, etc etc, and that the decendants of the primate we were bred with, are the hominoids, bigfoot, yeti, etc
I think our understanding of 10K + years ago is mostly wrong. we like to imagine the earth as a a steady uphill of progression, and uphill slope, and we understand that there have been cataclymic events, but we fail to understand the magnatude of past events, we don't even know about most of them.
I think we had 3 planets at one time, earth, mars and the asteroid belt. and that there has been advanced life in the area for a long time. I look at the bible, and i have to ask, why are these certain stories reverberating from, and threw cultures, what would it take for the acts of divinity to be done....tecnology, planet creation, the fermament, all of "Jesus" is astrology...he is the sun, he dies on the cross (southern Crux constilation) every solstace, then 3 days later is reborn, and moves north again making the days longer, bringer of light, 12 deciples (zodiac), crown of thorns, up in the sky...all that jazz. then you got ezikials hubajube, the mana machine, stories of lost advance civ, etc. want pysical evidence? all the structures aside, you still have lots of obsure peices like the antikithira, the starchild skull, and the peices of tech, that they knew, but didn't have persay, liek the S american gold planes, and the bagdad battery, they definanatly had electricity, and were prob using the great monumants to tap into the earthes electrofield, same as Tesla did, same as tesla explained in his US seized books. its almost like thay had tech, then didn't have it
observing time, is like observing the solar system, as we sit here on earth we can see all the stars, they are all bright, as we can see the major events in the past. but it is hard to see anything past pluto, everything is dark, as its hard to see 15-300K yrs ago, all we can see are the major events
PS, im an antiauthoritarian, so please...dont tell me how to spell my words, and I could always be wrong, im just looking at all of whats presented to me, and making an opinion, but from what ive seen, i beleive it to be most likely

If Panspermia is right, whether intentional or coincidental, there is a possibility that there is life out there that is at least similar to ours, and intelligent beings that would be easier to communicate with exist (as opposed to completely different beings), and that's exciting, however I still prefer the theory that life sparked on Earth originally. (However now that I think about it, panspermia seems more reasonable simply because of the odds).

  • @RiotHouseLP

Personally I think life originated in the seas. Volcanic fissures at the bottom of the ocean could have created an intricate stew of chemicals which repeated trillions upon trillions of times could have lead to a sustainable origin of life. In fact I think that new life is being created right now because that process never ended.

In your video you said that using the light curve you could tell what kind of atmosphere a planet would have. How? How many things can you measure on a passing planet and is it possible that we exclude a portion of planets because they are too small and therefore don't register a noticeable dimness when they pass? just curious. awesome show btw.

In English the meaning of the name Adam is: Of the red earth. Earth simply means ground or soil. It’s called ‘terra’ in Portuguese, ‘dünya’ in Turkish and ‘aarde’ in Dutch, just to name a few with their own etymology. Now take the meaning of Adam, Red Earth. Then consider what they mentioned in this video. Are we from Mars? Maybe.
"Cosmic impacts that once bombed Mars might have sent temperatures skyrocketing on the Red Planet in ancient times, enough to set warming of the surface on a runaway course, researchers say.
According to scientists, these findings could potentially help explain how this cold, dry world might have once sustained liquid water and conditions potentially friendly for *life*."
    www.space.com/15887-mars-asteroid-impact-greenhouse-effect.html
The mention of Adam, bleed into the ideas of religion. As I've argued many times with theist. Your God may be just an advanced being who came to help, assist. Since our intelligence was so low, the way the alien beings communicated was dumbed down. I argue that if they themselves were so advanced, they should have stayed and teach us. But as you see now, there is no clear proof.
    Or is it?
We have many people on this planet that discover and create phenomenal things. I believe that down the line somewhere, the advanced beings mated. Leaving some form of assistance. Now of course there are those of us who rather believe in the idea of a God instead of searching for answers. I believe those of us who drop those notions very quickly are the descendants of the advanced ones.

+Immanuel M. Eames Theres also a theory that two civilizations had an a major nuclear war on mars and sent some of the people (us) to another planet to survive an keep the race going which is very convincing if you think about how bad the environment is in mars.

    • @takerapoel
      @takerapoel 8 років тому

+Immanuel M. Eames Wouldn't that kill the whole evolution concept? And anyway, if you are using the name Adam as an argument that would instantly make you give credit to religious books, which would ultimately kill the idea that we are aliens. You are confusing me man.. In a way, yes God is a far more advanced being that helped humanity, or even created it , according to religion. But in a religious view God is not an alien, since he's everywhere and all. This theory of yours is really confusing, you are taking what suits your theory from religious book yet from what I understand, you do not believe in any religion and at the same time you are debunking macroevolution. Cause if Adam is a man and we are descendants of him it skips the whole pre-ape period. A dead give away that humans come from earth is that we are 65% water which simply wouldn't work on Mars or give any room for a theory that we come from it.

As this is a science show, I have to ask: "Are you guys using the word theory in the correct context when you were referring to the alleged bacteria from Mars?"
I ask because when he says "there's lots of theories going around about this" and he said this a few times in this video. From a scientific definition perspective, 'Theory' is the not a guess, nor a hunch. Those could be considered hypothesis'.
A theory is a well-substantiated, well-supported, well-documented explanation for our observations.2 It ties together all the facts about something, providing an explanation that fits all the observations and can be used to make predictions. In science, theory is the ultimate goal, the explanation. It's as close to proven as anything in science can be.
So how can there be multiple theories going around about this subject?

Poll for my fellow UA-camrs: if at some point in the future of our species we considered implanting some of our genetic material onto an asteroid or some form of satellite, with the purpose of having it possibly crash into another planet to spark the formation of life elsewhere in the galaxy, would that be a moral blunder or a good thing to do? In other words, would it be 'right' for us to start spreading our genetic material throughout the galaxy in that way?

+Veridian It's all dependent on the people committing to the task. If you do it with good intentions, that's great. If you do it with the intent to harm a species by using a disease they would not have resistance to, not so great. So if you were to launch material that wasn't pure at a planet where you knew there was already life, that would be a bad thing.

Good luck surviving the blast out of your original planet, then surviving potentially vast years in space with no air and extreme temperatures, then surviving a fiery entrance into earth, then surviving and multiplying in whatever habitat you land.

Bacteria are tough fuckers. We've actually tested this theory before by attaching bacteria colonies to the outside of a space shuttle and they came back completely fine.

Humans may remain of current state if we'll not discover the infinite and free source of energy and supercomputers that accelerate our evolution in technology. If we rely on fossil based energy we can't move ahead. The contentions and conflict between nations may will end if all mankind can access the free energy, not being control by corporations that make us slaves that create social hierarchies. No more war and poverty, we are just focus on improving technologies and reach the stars to find out our family tree of origin.

+Katie (DoofusKat) They're called extremophiles, look it up. Just because we are made of a specific combination of organic molecules, doesn't mean all life forms in the universe are made the same way. I'm sure there are silicon based life forms.

It's our biological imperative to spread everywhere. Life needs to survive.

    • @Astropoliy

Good question, but as we evolve, we sometimes lose the ability to do certain things prior to our new adaptability. Such as: breathing underwater, losing most of our hair (stuff we could do or had before), etc.. Sorry for the late response, I was 12 at the time lol 👌🏿

    Let's do that experiment ourselves!
Find a planet or moon in our solar system were we know life does not exist. Send some hardy life there. Then we just sit back and observe its evolution.
It might change that celestial body dramasticly. I mean life has had pretty big impacts on earths climate. Imagine what it could do to Europa, or Mars?

So wait a second, if the theory that life came from rocks from other planets turned out to be true, would that imply that evolution theory is wrong? Or does the theory hypothesize that ALL life came to Earth, then evolution of all the different species of life began. And the question I have, at what point did this asteroid strike? Before? Or after the dinosaurs
