how long do you let the paint dry? I always struggle with this.. it looks dry but when i touch it theres like a skin that i now wrinkled and it wont sand away. it turns into a little booger that you have to rip off :(
Hi, Will 😁 thank you for making this video. I've worked with leather for a few years now, and I never got my edges quite right 😅 I've watched so many videos on UA-cam. I love how you walked us through everything and explained things step by step :) you also have a lovely, calming voice. You've been if great help, friend! I'll be sure to save your video😊
Great video! I was wondering, what is the heating tool you are using here? Is it possible to do this edge process if I do not have one of those tools (and if so, how would you recommend I change the process)?
thanks for this... I don't have a heating iron. I do have a creaser that i heat up with a torch to do my creasing. Can the heating process be done with that as well?
You’re most welcome, it can indeed. Make sure you’re subscribed as I’ve got a video going live tomorrow that includes a demonstration of how to do it with a manual creaser and a torch
Oooh, so it is totally necessary to use heat on the edge? I always thought I would only need to add tragacanth, sand it down and repeat and lastly use dye and wipe it clean.
Nope, there’s several ways of doing it, if not using heat you can simply sand between layers and get a similar result. So you’re doing the method without heat
Which edge paint do you use, I live in turkey i have tried several edge paint which is available here , but they didn’t work out. I am a beginner, really hope you suggestion.
This is the best instructional video I’ve ever seen for edge painting
Nice! How durable is the finish?

Totally depends on the air temp and the brand of paint. Try using a small space heater or putting your item near a radiator
I wish I could afford to buy a Regad machine....I'll just need to spend hours doing it by hand...my least favorite jobs I gotta say!

The result is perfect brother.but it takes too much time and efford.greetings from Turkiye
Thank you! You explained it very well. Would a soldering iron also work, instead of the fileteuse (I don't know the spelling.)?
What iron is that you’re using?
What is the heated tool or creaser?
Really nice production, Will. This should help a lot of crafters. Hi to Cambridge, such a beautiful town.
Any chance you could give an actual temperature from a non contact heat meter of what 5 1/2 on your creasing tool relates to?
Thanks for the video!
No problem at all, if there’s any other guides you’d like to see than please let me know, and don’t forget to subscribe:D
Hey Will! Hope all is well, question: where can I find fenice edge paint in the uk? Or can you recommend where to get it?
Beautiful work; thank you ❤️
Thank you, Will. You do such a great job detailing the processes in your video.

Thanks Will, I got to get that heat thingy then. My edge painting looks horrible.

What temperature do you use?
For the final polish I use my machine at number 5 and if I need to smooth the edge after the first coat I use it on 7
@@WillHodges Do you know what that translates to in degrees (F or C?)? Thanks!
