    I don't often make comments but after watching your many of your videos I just have to. I love your style of teaching, so easy to understand, well explained! I also love your humor. I am currently setting up my shop and when it's done I am looking forward to purchasing your video courses. I'm just starting out in leather craft and I found it very overwhelming tying to understand types of leather, tools and techniques. Watching your videos has helped me immensely. I am very grateful for you taking the time to make videos, THANK you so much.

    There's a similar technique in clothes sewing called "Hong Kong finished". And "French Seam" is another completely technique. And another similar one is"Flat Felled Seam".
    Going in to leatherwork after several years of sewing was such a fun experience, it's not like going blind. I did transfer several sewing method in leatherwork and it's worked out great, would recommend checking out those techniques.

    How about a close up on your hands so we can see what you are doing?

      For close-up shots, the video course 'Techniques Of Hand Stitching: Advanced Skills' shows this.

    I’m super new to leather work, and am learning how to make shoes- do you think this would be a good technique to use when attaching the upper to the lining?

    • @LeathercraftMasterclass
      @LeathercraftMasterclass  Рік тому +1

      I have seen this in shoes, I own a pair. But I'm afraid you'd need to ask a shoemaker to get the best answer.

    Awesome tutorial, learn something new everyday! Which UHU adhesive do you use? Thanks

    I know this is an old video.. but how would you go about wrapping it around and doing the same seam on the other side? Seems like it would be tough to get the tension correct

    • @LeathercraftMasterclass
      @LeathercraftMasterclass  Рік тому +1

      You wouldn't. You will need two separate French bindings that overlap in the middle with a separate seam of it's own.

    Great tutorial! What's the watch you're wearing? I'm kind of a watch nerd (who makes leather watch straps).

    Great video Philip.
    If you don't mind me asking, where did you get that fantastic leather rougher?

      It's a simple demonstration for a new Pattern Project available on my website, which shows more detail. I say this at the end of the video.
