  • Well, now, let me tell you a story about a place that's dear to my heart: Somogy county in Hungary. You may not have heard of it, but I assure you, it's a place worth visiting on your European adventures. And where better to start than Kaposvár, the vibrant capital of Somogy, where the past and the present intertwine like a tangled ball of yarn?
As you stroll through the charming Old Town, with its cobblestone streets and medieval buildings, you can almost feel the ghosts of the past whispering in your ear. And if you're lucky enough to visit the iconic Heroes' Square, you'll find yourself surrounded by statues of Hungary's most famous historical figures, as if they've come to life to tell you their stories.
But Somogy county has more to offer than just history. There's also the stunning Lake Balaton, a sparkling jewel in the heart of the region, where you can swim, sail, and fish to your heart's content. And for those who love a good adventure, the Mecsek Mountains are a rugged and majestic destination that will leave you breathless.
And of course, no visit to Somogy county would be complete without a stop in Fonyód, a charming lakeside town that's the perfect place to end your journey. Here, you can soak up the stunning views of the lake, wander through the town center with its lively shops and restaurants, and enjoy a variety of water sports and other activities.
But perhaps the most unique attraction in Somogy county is the Szent László Nemzeti Emlékhely, a national memorial site dedicated to Saint Ladislaus, one of Hungary's most revered kings. This sacred site allows visitors to immerse themselves in the life and legacy of this saintly monarch, with its beautiful grounds and chapel serving as a peaceful tribute to his memory.
In short, Somogy county and Kaposvár are a hidden gem in the heart of Europe, a place where the past and present merge to create a tapestry of experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime. So why not start planning your travel to Hungary today and experience the region's rich culture, breathtaking natural beauty, and warm hospitality, just as I did?"

As a Magyar Amerikai, its awesome to have all this insight into such an incredible country presented in a very accessible way... you are truly mining out the golden nuggets of Hungarian history for us in very entertaining videos! Istvan a kiraly... i had never heard of it before but you have enlightened me and it is fantastic rock opera indeed. Morever it premiered in Budapest on the very day I was born in 1983... how can I not be a fan !?!? Sok elismeres a CLEVELAND OHIO-tol to Willie, a Kiraly of Hungarian street vlogs... all the best!

You probably meant to write everyday. Waiting for the bus all day would mean that you spend the whole day waiting, which hopefully isn't the case. :))

Imádom a pozitív beállítottságodat és, hogy mindig mosolyogsz. Sok olyan dologban meglátod a jót, amire kevesen gondolnának. Sok magyarnak el kellene sajátítani ezt a képességet. Többek között nekem is. :)
Szépen fejlődik a nyelvtudásod is. Csak így tovább! Örülök, hogy vagy nekünk. Béke veled!

Hm!

It is so much more interesting to learn about Hungary's history from your videos, instead from books, like the way we learned it in school. Koszi szepen! Tovabbi jo felfedezo utakat kivanok.

Badacsony, a Vulkán (volcano). :) - Koppány pogány volt, vagy színleg felvette a bizánci kereszténységet? Szerintem sosem fogjuk megtudni az igazságot. A történelmet, mint tudjuk, egyébként is a győztesek írják. A vesztes igazsága elporlad. A győztes túlél, és "megigazul". :)

You should also see the 2013 version of the rock opera (m.ua-cam.com/video/OMIv9NuLMPE/v-deo.html), however, it is rather divisive. Mainly because people keep comparing the new versions to the original one and also because of the director, Alföldi Róbert. I do not say it is better than the original one, it is different. It adds new connotations, because it is a different era. But it is worth watching. And your Hungarian is amazing! Congrats!
