Thanks! I'll give Scott a call when I'm ready to do this repair. My latest 404 arrived with a very empty transmission and a very full rear axle, so I'm suspecting the seals are shot. I figure I'll go ahead and do both trucks if I rent the tool from you all.
desertpir8 hi Desertpir and others; i'll give it a try to ask here; my end drive left rear was full of oil, while the level of the differential was quite normal, as was the right rear and the transmission. Has anyone an idea how this can happen?
Would have liked to see more details and info on the special tools!!!

Yes we do rent the seals to do almost all Unimog 404, 406 and 416 repairs. Check our out store at Expedition Imports
I could really use a list of part numbers and tool part numbers for this job.
Do you guys rent the tools out to do this repair? I have a couple of 404s now with leaky trans seals.
Japese has simplified tecnology in their vehicles.
