Hands down my favorite pistol! My first pistol was the HK USP .45 Tactical, that's where the obsession began and has since increased to the HK 9mm Compact and now the HK USP .40 Looking to add the 9 mm full size soon along with the 9mm ELITE and Expert models as well!
This is hands down the greatest USP video I’ve ever seen. HK STILL sells the USP and it still sells pretty well. They have obviously tried to replace it several times with models like the P2000, HK 45 and P30. What do you think these guns lack that has made that happen? Do you believe that these models failed because the USP was simply THAT far ahead of it’s time or do you think it is just the nostalgia and history surrounding the USP that the newer models simply can’t match? I only ask because I have had friends who are HUGE HK fans say that newer models do THIS and THIS and THIS “better” then the USP, but STILL say if they could only choose one, the USP would be it. Again, PHENOMENAL work, sir.
Glad you enjoyed it. That’s the goal with all the videos. As I mentioned, the USP was the revolution and everything that followed in the hammer fired line was an evolution. Each model that has followed has been successful, but none had the initial impact of the USP, which was such a shock to the market when it came out. After it though, striker fired options from other companies were taking over demand and it was not until H&K released the VP9 that they saw similar success as with the USP.
Excellent overview. Thank you for all of this information. I just recently had a USP Compact 9mm date stamped AB fall into my lap. The more I shoot it, dry fire it and handle it, the more I like it. I love the ergos of the VP9 but there is something about this USP Compact that just satisfies a portion of my brain I didn't know existed.
The USP is where my obsession with H&K began. I've owned a lot of different brands of pistols, but my USP never failed me. I have since sold most of the other brands off for the other lines of H&K's. I bought the P2000, the P30 and the VP lines. Each one is just as reliable and great engineering. So now I just HAD to buy the P7M8. THAT was expensive but, I'm glad I have it. Thanks for the info
I used this video and your other videos, along with guys like Small Arms Solutions (Chris Bartocci) and Larry Vickers, to help me realize that I needed to stop screwin around and get the best of the best. So now I have a USP compact 9mm and a P2000 9mm (so I don't miss out on having the chance to even own one for a reasonable price lol). I thought my VP9 was really nice compared to my other striker fired pistols, but I couldn't believe how beautiful and quality the USP Compact was when I finally held it and used it for the first time. It's like a work of art. The USP was always my ideal gun ever since childhood. I can't remember the first time I knew it by name. Was probably playing Metal Gear Solid 2 with my dad back in 2002. And then I saw the MP5 for the first time and that was my favorite gun for pretty much the rest of my childhood and adolescent life haha. And so when I decided to start owning my OWN handguns as an adult instead of just using the 'family guns', I was planning on just getting a USP of some sort from the start. But I let a bunch of know-nothings talk me out of it and tell me that I should start smaller and get something way cheaper that is 'just as good' and all that jazz. So I started with a CZ P-10F, which is a really great gun, but it was just wasn't right for me to be my 'dedicated carry'. So I bounced around through all the manufactures looking for deals on the midrange guns in the $500-$800 mark, and I was just never fully satisfied with any of them, there was always something off or cheap or unsatisfying about them. A few came really close. The CZ P-01, Walther PDP, the 1911, Walther P99, and even the Shield Plus was really nice. And plus, the Shield Plus reminds me of a tiny USP a lil bit haha, they have a couple similar design cues. Then I got a VP9 and it blew my mind. It was amazing. And so then I realized that I had been making mistakes by settling over and over and expecting that I would feel good about the guns I was carrying just because I got them for a good deal... lol nobody who really cares about quality and reliability thinks that way. I am not a perfectionist, but I am an minimax'er and obsessed with being optimal with the least amount of work possible (work smarter, never work harder when you could make work easier. That's why athletes have teams of people dedicated to making their training as efficient as possible, that's why billionaires have financial advisors, etc) I just didn't feel comfortable compromising on the gun I carried just to 'save money' or 'have something just as good and use the money for more ammo and training.' Well, look, I got money because I work hard and I work smart, I just want to have guns that I know are as close to perfect as possible and can take some neglect if needed. I didn't want to compromise in any way. So I knew that if the VP9 was that good, the USP was gonna be on a different level. And then lo and behold, I start seeing HK's branding and marketing from the past for the first time on this channel, and then finding it myself online. I'm seeing the focus of their branding and what it's pretty much always been about since the 1960s/1970s: sometimes you want the best and you don't want to compromise. Sometimes you don't care what it costs because you are paying to get something made by people were truly trying to make something special, and to approach perfection as closely as possible. Yeh maybe I'm reading into the branding and marketing too much and 'I'm falling for it', but based on what I know about the development of the USP, I really do believe that the marketing is reflecting a real drive and real purpose behind the scenes, in the labs and in the machining rooms and in the testing grounds. I really do think that the USP was lightning in a bottle, and it had all of the right factors and circumstances going for it at the right time in the right place with the right funding, leadership, and the right contract requirements to make something special happen. And I really do think that HK throughout all of those years, and maybe still a lil bit even today, really do want to make a no-compromise weapon for people who really LOVE TO SHOOT. The HK pistols are guns for shooters, people who really love their guns, love shooting them, love the whole feeling and experience and the joys of gaining mastery without any interruptions or hangups. Once I decided I was gonna get a USP variant, I was planning on getting a USP first, but I had to be honest with myself about whether or not I was gonna carry a full size pistol like a USP every single day. And based on my other full size pistols, really the only one that I can carry comfortably all day for some reason is the 1911 lol. But USP is next on the list I think. That or an Sig P226, since I'd like to get one of those while they are cheap as well. Really the only guns that hold my attention anymore are the HKs in general, some of the Glocks, p226, maybe some of the Berettas. But with these HKs, I feel like I've already got some of the best handguns ever made.
You literally talked me into it sir. I knew I wanted it, but I was torn between the USP 40 or the HK 45. You videos settled my debate so my first HK was the USP. Side note…I’m still gonna get the HK45. In the 15 some odd years I’ve viewed UA-cam, this was my first ever comment.
James, can't tell you how much I appreciate these videos. The USP was the first gun I fell in love with, and one of the first I bought when I began acquiring and training with firearms (VP9 beat it out!) It's still an absolute favorite. But you know how gun guys are, always on to the next thing, always shopping... This kind of video helps me slow down, appreciate what I have, get more depth. You taught me a lot about the mechanical functioning of the type (especially the safety systems!), a lot about the industrial-historical context in which it arose, and about the variants that have come and gone before my time as a firearms enthusiast. I look forward to having my ducks in a row such that I can throw money at you and do some real in-person armorer-type training on the USP and other HK platforms.
Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the feedback. I know that videos of this depth are not for everyone , but for for some, it checks off all the boxes.
Every handgun I've handled and shot, aside from the FNX45, The USP has always been my favorite go to handgun and is definitely a solid product from Heckler & Koch.
I was introduced to the USP through the Rainbow Six series of games as a kid. Never used them while in the military unfortunately. Finally bought one and I totally love it. My USP 45. V3 is my EDC and its awesome
“But wait, there’s more!” Love the addition of four more non-U.S. models at the end of your video. There is no one outside of Oberndorf, Deutschland (actually, H&K is in the town of Lindenhof, in the district/county of Oberndorf) that knows H&K’s full line of firearms more than James, the founder and owner @TeufelshundTactical !!! Seriously, I’ve only been watching, studying and learning about H&K for ≈ 20 years+/- but I have not come across anybody with a greater knowledge base! The man is sharp, thoughtful to share his vast knowledge accumulated over many years, and he’s OCD to boot - meaning he does things very thoroughly and by the book. I honestly can’t wait to one day meet James and have him do all my H&K 20k rd full cleanings, my gunsmithing and custom work, and any repairs - which seem rare. I’m new to James’ channel, but after this 2:17 long video - just on USP’s!! - and three other videos of his that I’ve binge watched previous to this with great joy, I am on a mission to source my first H&K; the ‘HK USP Compact 9mm’ in new or barely used condition. I hope you are able to keep up the excellent work putting out these wonderful videos.
Been having my USP40 for 3 months and I love it. My favorite pistol and it's part of my EDC family but also serves as my bedside/home defense gun. I learned about 15 new things about this pistol just 30 minutes into the video!!!
This video inspired me to shoot my HK USP 45 today. Further, I swapped out my tactical barrel and did not shoot it supressed because I learned from this video that I should have ordered the tactical recoil assembly!
This is incredibly informative. It was so cool to see the walk though of the manufacturing process and especially your examples of the steps in production of the slides, etc. Thank you!
An exhaustive wealth of information here… definitely subscribed, so glad I found this channel, and thank you! As I watched this and your P2000 video, there is a resounding theme of “reliable design innovation” when you look back at these ground-breaking H & K designs, and I have (as I’m sure many do already) a new respect for the design work and concepts, and respect them even more for what they achieved when they did. It really puts a new perspective on some of the “garbage guns” that are sold nowadays. I would rather depend my life on any USP/P2000 over pretty much anything sold now.
Been a fan since 1994, and I bought (and still have) a low-four-digit USP9F that same year! This was an excellent video that I learned quite a bit from--thanks for making it!
I’ve always loved the USP series, I am fortunate to have a number of different USP variants. Thank you for this! I plan to view this presentation when I have plenty of quality time to really appreciate and enjoy 😊.
I’m not monetized because I don’t care about making money from this and I hate commercials and don’t want my fans to have to deal with that annoyance either. So, when you don’t “play their game”, you don’t get special treatment. But now that you’ve found the video, check out the rest of the channel, completely stacked with H&K knowledge and experience.
@Teufelshund Tactical - What an informative video! Thank you very much for all the time and effort that you put into sharing your knowledge with us. I just received my brand new P8-A1, USP Custom Sport and USP 9 Expert. All new and never fired. Also got a P30L Tactical. It was a good Christmas…
I first learned about the USP when I read a Richard marcinko book and wanted one for years..found a lefty model in a gun shop picked it up and have loved it since been almost 10 years
Awesome video! I just bought my first USP compact and have a gray guns flat trigger for it. Do you have a video of how to install the flat trigger? Thanks.
This is an excellent video! Watched it once just to browse, watched it again to get the details and will watch again to make sure I didn’t miss anything!
Joseph Leinhauser Thanks. There are those without the attention spans, who just look for flash and bang, but for those “students of the gun”, I offer these.
Your dad bought you a USP as a Christmas gift? That’s the coolest Christmas gift I’ve ever heard of anyone getting. I have shot an HK45 but no experience with an actual USP other than CoD4 growing up. That game made me interested in military style guns and is the reason I learned about the 1911 and became a fan of the heritage as well as where I learned about the German engineered greatness that is most of HK’s product lineup. Although I’ve heard they’re physically a little bit on the larger side for a given magazine capacity when compared to many modern poly framed pistols, the ruggedness and dependability of the design very much pleases me. I love that they offer them in a configuration that would allow a double action first shot or cocked and locked carry like a 1911. Combined with more rounds of .45 and the ability to take a steady diet of +P seems like it would make an awesome combat .45 and is the driving factor behind my wanting for one. Perhaps one day. These videos are awesome. Regardless of ownership or potential future ownership I just love learning about these things.
Yep. The 1911 is iconic, but what H&K has done with their .45 models presents are far more robust and reliable weapon. Glad you’re enjoying the videos. Sharing the knowledge and experience is what it’s all about.
@@teufelshundtactical Do you think HK has a better 9mm suppressor host than the USP9 Tactical? Also, does the HK45C need any other changes than a threaded barrel swap before I can suppress it? Thanks again.

Trying to convince my uppers that the Team needs MP7s. :) We are very shield and pistol heavy. I think the MP7 would augment well!
Great video as usual James. Well done. And I would echo your sentiments that this is a great shooter and carry option. My EDC is the HK USP Compact in 9mm. Only things I've done to it is put an extension mag paddle and also added for my first mag the X Grip extension thAt allows me to use the P30/VP9 15 round mags
Hi James, just got through watching this video, currently I have a VP 40, USP Elite 45, and Mark 23. Having the VP is there any sense in getting a USP 40, I know one is striker fired and the other hammer fired as well you mentioned the USP will eventually be discontinued. Regarding the Mark 23 , HK parts shows a gen2 rail mount compensator that looks bad ass on that gun. Question, do you know of any issues with installing that and 2 can I get that from you or go with HK parts? Thanks the video was very informative. I know you’ve heard that a million times but it is true. Thanks again.
Hi James, you truly are an asset to the HK community. I looked into that compensator and it is after market and does damage to the front of the gun. I thought because the advert said HK parts it was HK not so. Thank you again, take care.
I also was wondering does the usp CT have a different recoil spring from the Usp compact? Is the barrel and the roll marks the only things different from the 2?
If you watch the entire video, you’ll see it covers the entire USP line. Though, if you go to my channel and scroll down, you’ll find I also did a video on rare USP compact models.
Rewatching this as I'm about to acquire a '96 dated stainless USP9 fullsize in a week or so. Comes in the original grey case but what surprised me is it comes with two 15 rounders instead of 10 round mags, I guess the previous owner swapped them out at some point. I plan to install the Match trigger kit and Jet funnel. I would upgrade it to a Match clone but can't seem to find the barrels at the moment.
Just picked up my first HK USP, this video has been a great resource for me! Something I found interesting, both my wife's P30L and my USP do not have the usual antler proof, date code and other markings on the slide but rather they are now printed on the underside of the trigger guard. Both pistols are date code CB (2021 production). I would be curious to know when HK changed that and if there was a specific reason for the change as well. Thanks again for posting these videos!
The change from the antler to CIP was a European requirement to standardize across those countries. That is also when the “DE” country code was added. This occurred about a decade ago. Changing the location of the markings to under the trigger guard began last year.
@Teufelshund Tactical I know this is a old video, but I was hoping you could give us your opinion when it comes down to using a Rim country conversion barrel in a full size usp 40 and switching it over to 357 sig. I know that hk did make a compact version of the uspc in 357 sig but never seen a full size made. Do you think it would be safe to use on a newer usp full size? Or should I stay away from converting to 357 sig. If you reply thank you for doing so.
Barrels are the best thing H&K makes. I would never replace my H&K barrel with an aftermarket one regardless of the caliber. It would be like driving my Porsche 911 with an Oldsmobile engine. I also would not recommend changing calibers in a weapon that was not designed for that caliber, not to mention voiding your warranty.
@teufelshundtactical7125 Thanks forthe quick reply! I figured you would be the sane person to keep me from making that mistake. I have several usp's but have been on the hunt for the compact 357 sig. I was going to settle with changing over the full size and that would of been just that settling. Along with what you said about voiding my warranty and all I will just wait for the right gun to come my way. If I need to shoot something in 357 sig until then. my buddy has a 229 that will work for now. Thanks again for the quick reply.
Great and so detailed video devil's dog kudos to you. There is so much history and stories behind usp it's on it's own legendary to me. Great job again. Now I have question for you since you're so connected and you have immense amount of info on hk. I ve ordered usp 9mm back in August with my local gun dealer for price of $1006 but its been over 2 months already and they can't tell me anything but to wait,so I thought you might know more about how often hk sends shipments and in what amount to USA. I also know that civilian market is like last on the list in regard to basically anything. Thank you and again if you find time to enlighten me on this subject I d greatly appreciate.
Many thanks. You can find better pricing on sites like GunBroker if you want one now. H&K produces weapons in batches, so there can be long lead times between shipments, especially when newer model pistols are in higher demand. There is no published production schedule to view though.
@@teufelshundtactical Hi James ,just update still waiting for my usp 9mm v1. I was thinking about going to a gun store/range and offer to buy their rental. It's 2010 made and it looks good. I don't know what do you think about buying rentals.
@@samkun3297 Range rentals are often “rode hard and put away yet”, so condition is critical. Replacing worn parts could easily run the cost up to where buying a new one or lower round count used model would be.

Thanks for sharing James - love these amazing pieces of engineering. Any idea why the front of the trigger guard on the full size models slopes forward? On a similar note, do you know why the P30 & VP9 use a squared off trigger guard while the HK45 uses the sloped design?
On the USP, it slopes in order to fit with the UTL mentioned in the video. As the later pistols did not have that requirement, they went with one more fitted for a finger rest, if desired.
Another fantastic video James, thank you for you dedication. I'm really looking forward to taking an armorers class with you some day. Now where can I get a clear cutaway USP cause that thing is crazy cool.
@@teufelshundtactical So how about a short video on how to put together a Custom Combat. I've been seeing an awful lot of USP 40's popping up lately. Seems like a fun project
Thanks James for the heaps of knowledge. Is there any chance HK will make a USP9 Compact Tactical for the US Market? Seems to me like they would sell well. Coming from a G19 and planning to pick up a USP or two very soon.
What is the best method to add a light/laser to the HK USP's rail? TRL 7A seems to be popular or 8A w laser. One gent said the light mounted w/o adapter but other's say it needs recoil lug to handle recoil. No shortage of opinions on the internet...
I have a question about the O ring on the mk23 and tactical models. does this simply apply a tighter seal to the slide or does it pressurize when the round goes off, fitting tighter to the barrel? Love your stuff sir. Garand thumbs most recent video brought some great attention the the platform as well!
The pressure during firing causes it to swell and seal between the barrel and the tang on slide. This centers the barrel for each shot instead of the slight deviation in different directions the barrel would make otherwise.
Just purchased a Mark 23 at my local BassProShop. I couldn’t believe my eyes, got it for $2300. The kid as the behind the counter didn’t even know what it was and thought it was to pricey.
If we are using LEM or cocked and locked, how long would you estimate that hammer strut spring life? If I’m carrying on duty with the hammer backed safety on all year long? Thank you for all your hard work and info sir!
Thanks. The hammer spring is incredibly strong, not easily worn out like other springs. I have never heard any timeline quoted, but I doubt you would ever know any issue within the lifecycle of ownership for you to be concerned with.

That's why athletes have teams of people dedicated to making their training as efficient as possible, that's why billionaires have financial advisors, etc)
I just didn't feel comfortable compromising on the gun I carried just to 'save money' or 'have something just as good and use the money for more ammo and training.' Well, look, I got money because I work hard and I work smart, I just want to have guns that I know are as close to perfect as possible and can take some neglect if needed.
Once again, my work here is done.
HK Master Race!! Great video! Absolutely adore the USP series!
"air-cooled", very nice! This is another in your line of encyclopedic videos, a true resource for HK aficionados - thank you!
My first firearm I ever purchased was a USP40 with a stainless slide. I still have it. It runs better than a clock.
Better than a Swiss made clock
So glad I found this channel! This guy can put even high budget documentaries to shame!
Never seen your channel ever before weird. Thanks for the info
It’s because I’m not monetized, they suppress me in the algorithm. But enjoy. Tons of H&K content on the channel.
thorough and factually exacting, that's the trick. Perfect!
Absolutely the very best HK video I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I’m definitely hooked
Thanks. Check out the channel for many more videos.
The Best breakdown on the venerable Usp I've come across.
Thank you sir!
First video of yours that I've watched. Subbed after 20 minutes. Absolutely top tier content sir. I love long-form firearm stuff like this.
Thanks. Enjoy the channel.
Thank you. The continued positive feedback makes all the effort worthwhile.
Been having my USP40 for 3 months and I love it. My favorite pistol and it's part of my EDC family but also serves as my bedside/home defense gun. I learned about 15 new things about this pistol just 30 minutes into the video!!!
My father gave me my 1st HK VP70z. I purchased a USP 40 in the early 90s. Just made a deal on a P30 40. New subscriber!
I just discovered this 2h long video of one of the coolest handguns and i can’t be happier.
UA-cam needs to improve their search engine. This video should have a million views!
What an incredible video! I'm only half way through it and I've already learned a ton of stuff I did not know about my USP9. Subscribed!
Thanks. I'm glad you're enjoying it. If you search my channel, you'll find several other H&K video reviews with similar detail.
Thanks a lot for your effort, knowledge and detailed review!!! Subscribed! JB
Many thanks. Tons of H&K info on the channel. Nice pick ups as well.
Love HK and the USP is my nightstand gun. Excellent video. Thank you for taking the time.
I first learned about the USP when I read a Richard marcinko book and wanted one for years..found a lefty model in a gun shop picked it up and have loved it since been almost 10 years
mgmmaze Always love hearing the stories of an owner’s introduction.
Awesome video! I just bought my first USP compact and have a gray guns flat trigger for it. Do you have a video of how to install the flat trigger? Thanks.
I do not. UA-cam prevents me from uploading videos like that. But you can contact me through the website if you would like me to do the installation.
I struggle because I love my USP’s I’m obsessed with my 1911’s. I’m fortunate to own both. SHTF I’m grabbing a USP.
This is an excellent video! Watched it once just to browse, watched it again to get the details and will watch again to make sure I didn’t miss anything!
Many thanks. Lots more great H&K content on the channel.
These long format instructional videos are excellent. I have learned a ton from your p7 and mp7 videos and look forward to jumping into the usp video
Joseph Leinhauser Thanks. There are those without the attention spans, who just look for flash and bang, but for those “students of the gun”, I offer these.
Teufelshund Tactical is there any chance we could get a similar video of the HK LMGs? Like the hk21e ?
What an awesome history of the USP. Thank you
Thanks. Lots more on the channel.
@@teufelshundtactical Do you think HK has a better 9mm suppressor host than the USP9 Tactical? Also, does the HK45C need any other changes than a threaded barrel swap before I can suppress it? Thanks again.
@@astroidother3609 The Mark 23 is the best pistol for suppression, but the USP and HK45 series are super as well.
The HK45 and HK45C are offered as tactical models or you can buy the threaded barrel and drop it in.
@@teufelshundtactical Thanks. I have the HK45C V7 and want to suppress it. Got a great deal on the gun and wanted to make sure it was just a barrel swap. That said, I may well nix my G21 and get an HK45T instead. Cheers
@@teufelshundtactical In your very educated opinion, what is the best 9mm suppressor host in HK’s entire pistol lineup? Thanks.
I bought my very first H&k USP 45 yesterday & it was a KF generation model which was in insanely great condition
Very first handgun is the USP 45 Compact. That rainbow six pic sold me when I was a kid 👍🏼
I’m almost done watching the video, lol
Thanks for this! I know it won't be 2 hours long but looking forward to the P2000 video.
What a fantastic video usp9c owner here. Can you tell me in the foto of picture video what caliber is the usp the man it holds? Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷
Thanks. That photo was taken for the launch of the USP and that was done with the .40.
@@teufelshundtacticalThanks for the answer my friend,(i think this picture with this man was in one video game)i want so so so much a usp 40 or 45 with stainless slide but i think stopped this version back on 2004😢 hope one day i can find one new. Thanks💪🇬🇷🙏
So many videos on H&K USPs................ Sadly none of them matches this one Awesome knowledge!
Many thanks, and the comment could extend to the entire channel; dedicated to providing solid H&K content for the fans.
My dream USP is an all metal, 1913 rail, optic ready version. Love the usp.
We have a better chance of getting an OR P30, and that's a pretty slim chance as it is.
one can dream, dreaming is free, but that’s never gonna happen, that defeats the entire purpose of the USP
Excellent video
Thank you for this video..the extensive knowledge presented helps me understand my usp
Without a doubt the best coverage of H&K history and development. By the way, are those pucks available?
Glad you enjoyed the video. Tons more on the channel.
No, I do not have pucks available.
Could not believe I just found your video today! Great info, thanks!
An entire channel full of tasty H&K knows bombs.
Re-watching your video, I love the info. The P7 history behind the NJSP adoption of it was my favorite. One of these P7s was the first HK I handled.
HK should cut you a check or a free gun for all the work you do toting their quality and development.
MK23, USP .45 and HK45C owner here…..exceptional firearms.
Thank you for this! Now I understand how the recoil reduction system really works (which is quite unique after all)!
Any experience with the gray guns parts?
What are you thoughts? Specifically looking at the flat trigger at the moment.
I do those upgrades on a weekly basis for customers. Comes down to personal preference.
The background gained you a new subscriber. !! Love it!
Got my slide milled from Primary Machine - made a world of difference with the platform.
Awesome Video! I appreciate all the work you have done to get the information out to us . Thank You James
How come HK won’t change the frame rail on the newer USP’s they make? I fee like it wouldn’t be that much of a design change.
There has never been a requirement to do so. Follow on requirements for handguns led to the product improvements of the original USP design into the P2000, HK45 and P30 series.
Thank you for this Video!
Love my hk usp 9mm got it for an amazing deal. 👍 Best video of the usp I've seen. Thanks for all the information.
Dang it, James, you sold me on the USP 45, and I just had to buy one....
Hell yes - been waiting for this one!

AWESOME VIDEO SIR I’M A PROUD OWNER OF THREE USP’S FULL SIZE .40, COMPACT .40 LEM AND A FULL SIZE 9MM LEM. I HAD A USP45 BUT I SOLD IT HOWEVER I REPLACED IT WITH A 9MM LEM.
I absolutely love your videos! I can't believe that I haven't seen them already considering how big of an HK fan I am. I have learned so much just from collecting the ones I have. I am absolutely intrigued by the HK engineering and process. I can't get enough. I am my departments Rangemaster, Armorer, Tester, ammo acquisition guy, slash, slash and slash. I have a feeling that you know exactly what I mean. I'm the guy that everyone comes too. If I don't know, I love searching and learning something new. Thankyou so much for the sharing your knowledge! Trying to convince my uppers that the Team needs MP7s. :) We are very shield and pistol heavy. I think the MP7 would augment well!
Glad you are enjoying the video. The channel
Is full of in-depth H&K content.
@@teufelshundtactical I couldn’t agree more!
Bar none the best USP video. Watching to celebrate my purchase of a full size 9mm today.
Amazing amount of info! Thanks for taking the time to make these knowledge bombs, James!
Great video, learnt a few new things about the USP
I always encourage another H&K purchase.
I do not have any experience with the aftermarket item you are referring to.
Thanks for such a fast reply. That compensator is listed on HK parts. Is that separate from H&K?
Not from H&K.@@thomaskingsbury6560
Hi James, you truly are an asset to the HK community. I looked into that compensator and it is after market and does damage to the front of the gun. I thought because the advert said HK parts it was HK not so. Thank you again, take care.
Would love to see videos on the UMP or G36 series
Awesome video!!! **Loved seeing the USP CT with the KAC USPCT at the **1:49:58** mark**
Are you going to create a separate video for the usp compact?
I also was wondering does the usp CT have a different recoil spring from the Usp compact?
Is the barrel and the roll marks the only things different from the 2?
If you watch the entire video, you’ll see it covers the entire USP line. Though, if you go to my channel and scroll down, you’ll find I also did a video on rare USP compact models.
I’m 1:13 minutes in and still watching it
@@teufelshundtactical I guess I haven’t gotten to that point yet 😂
Thanks for the knowledge!
@Teufelshund Tactical
I know this is a old video, but I was hoping you could give us your opinion when it comes down to using a Rim country conversion barrel in a full size usp 40 and switching it over to 357 sig.
@teufelshundtactical7125
Thanks forthe quick reply!
@@Phenixrising-p1p If .357 SIG is what you're after, take a look at the USP Compact and P2000, both great carry options.
I've watched this video 4-5 times now and I think I learn something new each time. So James when's that ITD video coming?
@@teufelshundtactical Thak you James for your thoughts on this.I'm still going to check it out tomorrow once more and if I get it for reasonable price,I I'll send you an email.
Would love to see a ransom rest accuracy test USP with an O-ring barrel and one without.
I knew it had to be RB6 and they sure did love H&K they did them right and I was 12 when that game came out and all I used was the USP or MK23 and now as an adult my edc is an HK45c but I will have my USP I will
Thanks for sharing James - love these amazing pieces of engineering.
Thanks for making this video.

I don’t think you’ll see that or any “new” models of the USP.
Makes sense. Nice hat BTW was watching again and saw the Luftgekuhlt.
Nice Magnum P. I. autographed photo!
Still think a detail strip would be huge. Do you think H&k will discontinue the USP line? They produce very few a year compared to the others
Yes, like other models, the USP will be discontinued, but most likely the P2000 will go first.
What is the best method to add a light/laser to the HK USP's rail? TRL 7A seems to be popular or 8A w laser. One gent said the light mounted w/o adapter but other's say it needs recoil lug to handle recoil. No shortage of opinions on the internet...
I would recommend the GG&G rail
Adapter
Thanks James, good information.
Thanks. The continued positive feedback makes the effort worthwhile.
Excellent review!
